@@bobbyheenan4061 no doubt about it. If I was getting into broadcasting I am not even trying to be like Vin Scully. I can be inspired by Vin Scully but I would never be Vin Scully.
To many of us growing up in the '70s, Vinnie was the cool uncle that told you a bedtime story about your favorite team. And we fell asleep during the commercials (Union 76 or Farmer John)
Interesting story about those golf clubs that Vin loved, but gave up...I heard on AM570 here in the Los Angeles area a couple of days ago, that former Dodgers GM Ned Colletti bought them at that auction and called Vin to let him know. Vin had told Ned that he was glad to know that they were in good hands...
He mentioned Kirk Gibson's HR, Henry Aaron's record-breaker in Atlanta and even "The Catch" by Dwight Clark. I enjoy relistening to Vin's mastery, but the one that comes to my mind is Sandy Koufax's perfect game. He truly is the GOAT.
Easiest interview of all time! All you have to do is sit back and let Vin tell his amazing stories! Also on a side note, his auction brought in over $2 million dollars!
Jack Buck was my favorite and I loved Red Barber, too, although he was way before my time, but Scully is the best “voice” to ever call a game. He really did believe less was more, and he was usually right.
Like his decision to let his collection go, and benefit his children and grandchildren. Why wouldn't you invest in the most precious thing you've got in your life.
The greatest broadcaster of all time ever nobody else is even close.
And nobody ever will be. He's an absolute legend!

“For a few seconds, I was 8 years old again.” Beautiful.
Vin could tell me about the shape of the ice that comes out of his freezer and it would be the greatest story about ice I've ever heard.
Vin Scully, the best ever...
The GOAT Vin - best voice and story teller ever
What a career, Koufax to Kershaw. A legend.
The best at what he did. He painted a picture of the game with such clarity, better than anyone has ever done, and likely ever will..
Could listen to him talk all day
can somebody make an app where I get to listen to Vin gently put me to sleep, best ever.
Baseball not the same without Vin.

Treasure every story.. he’s amazing ... we are blessed to hear him !
His play by play of "The Catch" is phenomenal.
I like how just talking to him still sounds like he's a professional speaker.

Same man professionally, in person, and in private.
You know his memorabilia will generate some serious money

Can't watch baseball any more. Too slow. Used to be my favorite sport.
