Late to the party, but this book literally kept me up till midnight last night because I could not bear to leave the family -I had to know what was next ...I’m finishing it tonight...which of hers should I read next??❤️❤️So glad I’m not the only one whose world was rocked by this story.I’ll never complain about anything again after reading Anyas story.
I really don't have anymore recommendations for you, I'm so sorry! So far I've only read three of her books, and I didn't enjoy either of the others very much (The Great Alone and True Colors). I've heard she tends to be a very hit or miss author with her books. I've heard great things about The Nightingale, though, so perhaps that one is worth a go.
I read that book way back in 2010 and part of the mother's story has still remained with me. I preferred her story to the modern story. I gave it three stars. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've only read one other of her books and didn't like it as much, but I really want to read The Nightingale.
I quite liked both the past and present storylines, so that's probably why I liked it better. I've heard Kristin Hannah's books are very hit and miss, so while I didn't like The Great Alone, I'm really hoping to love The Nightingale.
I’m reading winter Garden and am just now , in the part where the mother is seeing and telling about her life as if in a ferry tale. Now I hope the story picks up.
I haven't, but everyone says The Nightingale is even better than this one, so I'm really excited to. I'll probably get to True Colors first just because it's on my shelf then get The Nightingale from the library once it reopens.
Incredible story. Leningrad story is so true. My cousin’s grandmother lived during those days. Very emotional 😭
It really was! I definitely cried a fair bit reading this.
I hadn't read this but you make it sound intriguing.
It was so good! It reminded how much I really enjoy a good historical fiction, even if it was only half historical fiction lol
I loved the great alone!
And no all her books are not good in my opinion

I think that's where it started getting really good for me!
Great review Alex.
Thank you!
You're definitely passionate about this one so now I'm interested in reading this :D
I really enjoyed it! From the way everyone talks, The Nightingale is even better, so I'm super excited to pick that up.
Oooo I've wanted to read this one. I'm so glad to hear you loved it. Have you read The Nightingale yet?

I think you would really enjoy it!

I'm glad you enjoyed this so much. Sorry the ending was underwhelming though. I'll have to put it on my list!
I'm hoping The Nightingale is even better, because from the way people talk about it, it sounds amazing. I really enjoyed this one, though.
