How to run Toy Story 2 on Windows 7/8/10 (get rid of "unable to enumerate a suitable device")

- Note: If the game doesn't work with dgVoodoo, you can try deleting the dgVoodoo files (dgVoodooSetup.exe and the 3 .dll files in the root install folder) and running the game. This will restrict it to fullscreen, but should allow the game to work in most scenarios.

Note: When selecting resolution, make sure to try 800x600x16 (not x32)
This is just a quick tutorial explaining how to use my modified installer. This will get rid of all errors, allowing Toy Story 2 to be run on almost all modern PC's, including the infamous "Unable to enumerate a suitable device" error, which occurs on nearly all computers with dedicated nvidia graphics cards (as well as some others).
Other people have shown various solutions, however, this way is by far the most consistent, and most likely to work. There is no reason to do things such as limiting RAM, running the game in compatibility mode, etc, as these rarely actually help.
If you've got the game working, and are simply having frame-rate issues, run dgVoodooSetup.exe (in your game installation directory) as an administrator and set the "Adapter(s) to use / enable" to your dedicated GPU (or integrated, such as intel HD graphics), then on the resolution selection screen (when launching the game), choose your dedicated (or integrated) graphics in the "device to use".
For the best compatibility, just set the Adapter(s) to use / enable to "All of them" (which is the default setting), and select the dgVoodoo DirectX Wrapper for the device, (with hardware rendering) when launching the game. This will work on most PCs.

well I never expected this childhood classic to work again. I don't know how, but the fucking thing works in 4k for some reason. Buzz's 3 polygon face never looked so crisp.
Installer doesn't even run. I see only black window with "starting setup ..please be patient". I extracted download before.
What am I supposed to do???

Wow, I've been trying to get this game to run for, like, a year and a half. I'm kinda in disbelief that it's finally working, thanks so much dude. I think I got this damn game out of a cereal box when I was like seven or something, and now I'm playing it again
this setup no longer works unfortunately. launcher just sits at a black launcher screen and doesn't move beyond just "wait patiently". I'm sure that this worked at one point, but Idk if there's something that's scuffed inside of it within current systems.
same here. from what i can tell it's a result of the SETUP.exe hanging around in the background without ever showing.
Easier way
Open toy2.exe in a hex editor
Go to offset AC9EB
Make sure the values at the cursor are 75 10 F6 C5 01
Replace them with E9 18 01 00 00
There is no AC9EB.
I found that 75 10 F6 C5 01 line from ADDF0

How do I find those AC9EB or ADDF0, Hex Editor can't find them. I'm using the "find tool". Maybe I'm dumb :D

whenever i try to replace them an error occur saying that access is denied, Iv checked the run as administrator but didn't help
didnt work, the launcher appears and no matter if i choose the voodoo graphics card or my gtx 960 or whatever resolution i choose, i click enter and then nothing happens
After I select a resolution it just exits out every time, please help..
I did the exact same thing but everytime I want to run the game, nothing happens. I run it as an admin, it asks me if I allow it and than nothing happens. Even in the Task-Manager nothing pops up. What can I do? I uninstalled it 3 times and installed it 3 times. Nothing works, even to restart the pc.

I've known about DGVoodoo, but the installer was giving me huge issues, so thank you for making this so easy and straightforward! I had to download the game seperately then transfer over the DG Voodoo stuff, and it works great! I also had to transfer over music from yours to the old CD game I downloaded, as it was broken, and it works PERFECT now! Skipping the CD check and not having to emulate it every time is super nice as well, it's overall just amazing!
Plus, adding REShade is incredible too, looks like a remaster now :D Thank you so dang much dude!

I tried to use my own disc for the game, but when I installed it. It gave me only two resolutions that were near gameboy levels of quality. I was incredibly baffled. So thanks for giving a completely different option. Works great now.
well i've tried so many installer and none work, in this one I do exactly what you say, when I choose the 800*600 resolution, I press enter to start the game and the game just stops working... Makes me so sad

The installer says please wait for hours and hasnt loaded up once yet
Everything works fine except I cannot alt tab when it is in full screen otherwise it windows itself and will not go back without opening the game again. Also streamlabs only picks up the game in a small window even when it is fullscreened. Any fix for either of these issues??
Figured it out, 920 x 1080 works far better don't know why you would suggest the low res unless you're using idk like crappy ass integrated graphics laptop that's slowing up.
Hello it worked on windows 10 i just had to configure dgvoodoo manual and had to try several screen settings to run and finally it starts so my son is happy thanks good work ya save me buzz fan #1 my boy of 2 and a half year

The game shuts down. I tried with both devises and always with 800 x 600 x 8. when i then press enter it it says "toy2 has stopped working". What do i do?? :O

Run dgVoodooSetup.exe (in your install folder) as an administrator, then click on the same ".\" button that you did when installing, and then on that same screen in appearance, check fullscreen (rather than windowed)

Right guys I got this working flawlessly on Windows 10 with very minimal patches etc. needed (just the Toy Story 2 Fix from the Github Repo really).

How to get this perfectly working on Win10 :)
Head to my Google Drive folder to download my ISO:

Mount the iso here (this is a direct image from my game disc, so nothing is
lost / compressed)
Browse to the disc Drive > Setup folder, right click Setup.exe and click Run
as Administrator (otherwise you'll get 'needs to be run under elevated
privileges)
Install normally
Go back to my Drive folder and extract all files from ToyStory2Fix-1.1.0 to the installation directory for
Toy Story 2. I obtained this from:

When running the game, choose "Primary display Driver" for your primary
screen. You won't be able to run at max res as the game just won't start (my
max res is currently 2560x1440), though 1920x1080 at 32 bits should work fine.
Enjoy! You can skip the start logos with space also :)
Cutscenes work fine also!! Runs at 60FPS and no graphics glitches
My saves are there also if you want to get a head start on playing from Level
5, just drag them to the game's root folder also ;)

after downloading dgVoodoo2, all I get is an .exe file, and if I run it, it looks just like at 3:58 but after I press OK after selecting the game's directory and my graphics card, I launch the game and it gives me the same arror. I can't even open toy2.exe in a hex editor or what.
For some reason, the cutscenes don't work. Not only do they not play, but I can't even load them from the theatre menu.
He mentioned in the video that they don't work.
After installing the modified setup, run the actual original setup from the cd or iso file, then the cutscenes will work.

I installed this and cutscenes did not work, but then I tried running the actual setup and dg voodo was still there and cuscenes worked with no problems. so the reason cutscenes did not work was the files issing from the modified installer. so to enable them, run the modified installer and then run actual and you get the cutscenes.
Yeah but the direct6.cpp is a c++ file and the error is on line 103 so I'm wondering where this file is located since there is no projects folder in the c drive

Get him stuck in the right corner of ladder and spin attack him to death, you will fall several times but it's the only way to beat him on pc

It's clean. Don't worry.
it is clean however some antivirus' may detect the setup.exe file as a virus due to the nature of how it works, but its not an actual virus or trojan
Ok this will save people some pain; just tried to install this on my gaming machine myself, and I also didn't see any setup window open. It's because in my case it was waiting for Overwolf.exe (an overlay for the GLoot app) as well as runas.exe. What I did to find out was go to Task Manager, find setup.exe after it was started from the Advanced Bat to Exe installer window, Right click it, click "Analyze Wait Chain" and check the exes it was waiting on. After terminating those, the installer window showed :) I'll comment back how the game runs!

These types of graphically intensive games require very powerful computing power, as you can see @5:53, you need at least GTX 980 Ti, or AMD equivalent.
