    I know this is an old video but it does work well. Honda should be shot for making the battery this difficult to access :) My 2012 Silver Wing is SO much easier to get to sigh. Anyway my suggestion to add to this ? I leave all three screws out of the battery cover! Cover just slides in and no real need to bolt it down unless you carry tons of weight here. Just pop off the cover and voila battery is in sight. If you are hesitant, you can replace the center screw only (easiest to see and get to). Hope this helps! Thanks again.

      @zooskifilms  Год назад

      @Glenn Mason - Great suggestion, thanks for posting it! I usually have a few small tools in there so that weight would keep the cover in place. Thanks again!

    Had to change the battery in my 2014 Honda Forza today and boy do I wish I had watched your videos on how to remove the seat. As you know there is hardly any room to work having to stick your head in, both hands plus tools to get the battery terminals and the battery tender screwed back together. A real cusser of a job which took me about 3 hours to complete.

    • @zooskifilms
      @zooskifilms  4 месяца назад

      @november151956 - Yeah, and then you also have the seat dropping down on you because the lift strut isn't strong enough to keep the seat up. I have the newer stronger version of the lift strut that will part of a future video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    I didn't remove the seat to get to the battery cover but it sure isn't easy to do. It is very hard to see and to put the screws back in. I also added a battery maintainer and their is indeed no room for the inline fuse but I just squeezed the wiring out of the battery compartment along the front edge and although it was a tight fit it works rather then cutting out a spot in the battery cover to run the wires through. Great videos Zoosk!

      @zooskifilms  13 дней назад

      @dannytoeh - Hey thanks for the feedback! I had a heck of a time getting that fuse through, great to hear you were able to do so without any cuts! I just realized my battery tender isn't working on the Forza now, need to sort out what happened. I added another 12V connector and wired it into the battery, might be a blown fuse or something. Anyway, thanks again!

    Glad I stumbled upon this video too. Still glad I saw the other two vids though because I will be replacing the faulty stock strut. And even though a previous owner installed a Battery Tender dongle, I may poke a hole thru the battery compartment cover with an appropriate sized hole saw for the BT fuse. Maybe add a rubber grommet too.

      @ziptiefighter - Sounds like a great idea. Would love to see what that looks like after you finish it. My tender cable is long enough to charge with the seat open, but the seat doesn't stay open by itself, which frustrates me to no end. That is the next project for me as well, changing that seat strut to the new and improved version. Video coming soon! Thanks again!

      @@zooskifilms The actual removal of the old and install of the new strut was easy. The biggest point of anxiety was removing the plastic panels without breaking any of the tabs. And there are a lot of tabs! In hindsight, it occurred to me that removal of the plastic "Tupperware" panels might go a little easier in warm weather (perhaps a bit more pliable).
      I also ended up discovering a couple of bonehead (battery-related) moves by a previous owner which I was able to correct on the same day.

    Whats a good replacement battery for the honda forza

    • @zooskifilms
      @zooskifilms  3 года назад

      @Raymond Palermo - Good question. I am not an expert on battery technologies, but when the time comes I would replace mine with the original YUASA battery (same model unless not available). The battery in my Honda Forza is still the original, so just over 5 years and still feels strong. I think the key to this is keeping a battery charger/tender connected when you don't use the scooter. Otherwise the battery replacement options are many, depends on your budget. The lithium-ion battery is a very good choice, but will be more expensive. I think you can find a good sealed AGM battery for $50-$100, and be sure to put a charger on it when not in use. I hope this helps, wish I could offer a more definitive answer. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

    How to check my battery and fuses on Honda forza

    • @zooskifilms
      @zooskifilms  2 года назад

      @Rashawn Pennyman - Checking fuses - you would need a multi-meter to check resistance across the fuse, pretty easy to check, just need the meter. For the battery you would need a battery tester, or take it in to your local auto parts store, most will have a battery tester and test for free. Otherwise, if you ride your Forza regularly and notice a slow engine turn-over this is an indication the battery might need to be replaced. I would also expect the need to change after 4-5 years of use. To prolong your battery life purchase a battery tender and keep it plugged in whenever not riding. My Forza is 6 years old and I keep mine on a battery tender and the battery is still working well! I'll make a video on the battery tender I use to show how it maintains the battery.
