This restaurant has a lot of really good food. It's one of my favorite restaurants in KL/PJ. My friends from HK always insist to eat here every time they are in town! if you don't order fish, crabs and fresh water prawns, then the damage isn't too bad. Wah so yummy! Also very usefull information for us who donno how to order 😀. The noodles is such a great way to have the full potential of giant prawns as I've always felt the usual fry methods never reach full potential 😋. Uncle Lee very expert 😊!
Thank you for sharing your video Uncle Lee. I truly enjoy you videos because you show and explain the dishes you order and the verdict especially the bill cost in detail at the end of each video. I'm from Australia, and have dined at this restaurant before but will try the San Har Mee, bamboo fish and honey squid next time. Keep it up, as I'm going to view all your videos.
Wow, you certainly have to go try.. also try the soon hock fish (the bigger the better)… still one of my favorite restaurants these days… but every time I go there, makes a hole in my pocket…& I still go!!! 🤣

Hi Uncle Lee, i was curious to know that is Uncle Fatt from Ipoh and is his surname Leong? Cos he looks familiar to a friend that i knew nearly 40yrs ago. Thanks
Good to know 👍. There are 7 chefs working in the kitchen now. The original chef who created the recipe 30 years ago is no longer in the restaurant but his recipe remains with Greenview. The original chef is the brother (7th brother) of the boss (eldest) of Greenview and he opened another restaurant & the taste of the prawn noodles is the same. 🤤
It’s still expensive but the ingredients used are top notch. I know quite a lot of top chefs in Malaysia and we did an estimate on their“food cost”. By food cost, I am referring to raw ingredients cost that goes into a recipe. For the big prawns noodles, the food cost is as high as 70%. For a F&B business to be viable, food cost should be no more than 30%…. But at 70%, I would rather pay to eat at the restaurant than buy the ingredients and cook for myself. This means if they charge you RM100 for a dish, RM70 goes to the ingredients.. leaving them only RM30 margin. But with that RM30, they have to pay rental, salary, utilities, taxes, rates, etc.. Btw, the boss’s daughter and a friend is starting up a dessert shop cum teaching school just few shops away..opening soon. 🤤
Come to Ipoh Mun Chung (Lido Cinema) 9 Pax - RM$1050 (5 years ago, I had dinner with friends) my personal menu selection for our friends reunion dinner. Around 8 dishes 1. Dragon Tiger Garoupa steam (whole fish) 2. Prawns 3. Cold Dishes(4 varieties) 4. Shark Fin/ Fish Maw / Crab Meat Soup 5. Roast Duck or Chicken 6. Stir Fried Vegetables (up to your choice : kai lan, asparagus, sambar kang kung, mix vegetables, loh hon chai etc 7. Braise Sea Cucumber with shitake mushrooms 8. Stir Fried longevity noodle. Your 4 dishes just too little. Not attractive food package.
Good to know… KL and Ipoh have different pricing and as you mentioned that was 5 years ago pricing. Pricing attractive or not is dependent on market pricing.. if priced right, then there will be customers and the business will prosper… if overpriced, then sure no customers and waiting to close shop.. Judging from their pricing and the fact that that have been in business for the past 30 years and expanding means customers still find value in their food. Personally, I love it very very much! 🤤🤤🤤
Lol…5 years ago rm1050??too expensive already,20years ago more cheaper.. 5 years ago sgd to rm just 2.83 and now already 3.35…somemore u compare Ipoh price with kl price😂😂u go teluk kurau more cheaper…
I worry they give me one small fish.. Soon hock is problematic when compare to other fish.. the meat will immediately start to degrade and become powdery immediately after the fish is killed.. need to cook it asap to maintain the quality and texture.. Usually if the restaurant is packed, they are ok to sell 1/2 big fish because there will be others who would order the other half. Those that are 5kg and above tastes even better.. the meat is multi layered, a little chewy and simply delicious.. but to eat 1/2 a 5kg fish need 10 person to the table.
Good job Uncle Lee. I am your regular viewer from Singapore. Thanks to your video, I am now at Greenview Restaurant. More than one hour after ordering from Capt Yong, the food is no where in sight. Even if the food is good later, I don’t think I will ever come back here. They absolutely do not know how to manage this biz. FYI 🥹
@@bryanteh1180 glad that you enjoyed the food.... go off peak better....I sometimes go in the morning around 11am+....even at this time, you will find 5-6 tables being occupied. He is the originator of the dish and is the 7th brother of the current Greenview boss (eldest). It’s at Goodview kopitiam
