I love watching this. Even in 2019. Over the last couple of years my cloth pad stash has grown but I can't imagine I will even have anywhere near this many. But I do understand it being a collection. Heck people collect beer mats and pics of drain covers so why not pretty pads?
I also have way more than I *need*. These stash videos are amazing, I love them and it makes me feel not as bad about my stash. I think I have around 170 now but of course since the last time I counted I sold some and placed some orders. At least it's a useful collection, right? First got hooked at age 16, accumulated a bunch in high school into early college and then stopped purchasing for a while. I'm now expecting my first baby and am using that as an excuse to get more long/heavy pads ;) Its not about saving money anymore, it's about comfort (the impetus to change happened after a skin reaction to an always pad), happiness (using adorable patterned and tie dyed rumps makes me excited for my period), the satisfaction of them getting so clean and not going into the trash, cutting down on paper and plastic waste, and supporting small women owned businesses. They're just the most amazing little hand made creations. Haters should look up a video on youtube titled "My Very Strange Collection" the girl has 175 empty chip bags.
+Catheryn Fredericks Thanks love! But I'm not a maker, I sew and make them from myself and friends who use them but would just not have enough time to open a shop right now. Plus, there are so many awesome makers out there :)
OMW! I LOVE your Doctor Who pads, and I truly geeked when I saw the Dalek 'Menstruate!' pad and the TARDIS snaps. Where did you get that pad/fabric so I can buy? Lol. Yes, I'm a Whovian also.
hi charmed cycle doe you sell your pads that you make ..I would love to know we're I can get some ..thank you Jenn and love your pads that you have and you made very cute prints ;)
I would like to try reusable pads but. Idk where to start i would like to make some myself but dont know wat to buy . i get confussed with materials . i seen an other video of urs wat are sea sponge tampons how do you get them in where can. I buy some
Have you destashed the popples pads yet? Also, how long do you think it'd take for someone who has never sewn anything to get the hang of sewing cloth pads?
I haven't destashed the popples yet. I need some time to go through them all and I'm thinking I'm going to destash a bunch at once. For sewing cloth pads, I think it's a really great starter project for people new to sewing. The shapes are fairly simple for the most part and they do not take very long to make. Plus, even when you're starting out, they might not look perfect, but they are still more than functional :)
Thanks Alysha! I'm not a maker, but there are some really great ones out there with sailor moon prints. A lot of the custom fabric makers on facebook have also done SM prints if you're into making them yourself :)
+sweetpaow There are tonnes of great wash routine vids on youtube. There are many different ways, but I soak mine overnight in a cool bath with a stain lifter (oxy-clean in my case) and then wash/dry them as normal on the cool wash setting :)
Hi! I love all your pads you have a beautiful collection. I think I feel better now that you put it that way about spending money in collecting something :) Check out Ellen V.S she has a video about sleep gadgets for children where she talks about that clock. Thanks for sharing !
Depends on what the pad is made of. Most of the time, the print side goes against the body. If the pad is made with a layer of fleece, that side always goes against the underwear, as it is the layer that keeps the fluid from going through to the underwear. Sometimes a pad is made with a layer of PUL upside or on the backside to prevent leak through, which you do not want against your skin as it would be very uncomfortable, but also because if you wear that side against your skin, there would be nothing to absorb as the absorbent layers would then be underneath the PUL.
You're kidding me? Another one? ..... Well, at least they dont impact the garbage piles around the world. 😆 But you could give some away to poor people.

+cvattani It's definitely on the to-do list, but filming a tut can be quite time consuming so it may be down the road a bit.

That was one of the ones I made :)
How do you wash them? Can I wash them in wash mashine with cold water?

+Luna Moon Thanks Luna Moon! I think I've got her sleeping on a semi-bearable schedule again, but I will definitely check out her vid :)
Is "heart diapers" on etsy??
Yep, that is where I found her. If you google Harp Diapers it should come up :)
OHH its Harp lol sorry about that & thanks!
Why so many!
I sometimes get confused about cloth pads... do the pictures go up (facing you) or down (facing the underwear)???
Depends on what the pad is made of. Most of the time, the print side goes against the body. I've only bought 6 the rest I've made myself
