Good content, bro. I was in that same convo with an elder and his disciple. I was approx 1yr in Christ, Born again, when I was confronted by a supposed friend and his mormon visting friends. 1 Corinthians scripture was their attack verse and we went from there to discuss much more for an hr or so. After it was was all said n done, that "elder" cussed me out leaving from our convo terribly upset bec By God's grace, I almost had won over and brought to Christ his apprenticed disciple next to him. My acquaintance said he had never seen them like that. I ended up taking him to church that night and now he's a pastor at a nearby church in his hometown. What started off as a trap by the devil, God turned it for the good and His glory!

@@Laurel.m_ak it’s not just with mormons , it can be with anything for anyone, so for example in Mormonism we were trained that if someone starts talking about Joseph smith in a not a good way start sharing your testimony about the Book of Mormon . What this does it shuts down the convo so you don’t hear the convo , it what people do to stay plugged in the matrix as to not think for themselves be challenged in there way of think or deconstruct there faith to see is it on a firm foundation can you challange it with scrutiny and it still stand. I was devout Mormon for 35 yrs. and thought just like this Elder does until God opened my eyes to His truth. I was blind and did this evading the question routine by bearing my testimony. That's how you're taught in mormonland if you don't know the answer...say what you think you know over and over and over. Its called "bearing down in pure testimony" Bruce R. McConkie.
The book of Mormon was written with Sidney Rigdon on the Johnson farm using the bible, popular questions of the time, the restoration movement era, stories Joseph Smith fabricated from his childhood along with his fathers stories...also much inspiration probably came from popular books of that time that Sidney was very influenced by in his religion.
You've done a great study Preston and can hold your own with the missionaries.
Did the jr. companion ever speak during the conversations? Lol. He looked so lost.
LDS Brothers and Sisters who watch this video PLEASE do your research and try to Prove Preston
wrong! OPEN your bible and read in context!!!! That's NOT what baptisms for the dead mean in the Word. Find out what was really being referred to.
You CANNOT cherry pick verses to prove anything. You must be a Barean and test everything. Find out what it actually means in the setting, who was addressed...Greek/ Hebrew origin. It will be worth it when the blinders come off your eyes and you see God for the first time! I fell to my knees and wept for hours and came to know the true God.
And he's not an exalted man with a body of flesh and bone who went through a process to godhood. He is the Almighty!
I pray for all Mormons to take the blinders off and see! Stop sticking your fingers in your ears and regurgitating the I know testimony. Like Preston said, the heart is deceiving.

I live in UT and all of my family members are either Mormon, Agnostic, Atheist or Materialist (which is basically Mormonism without Joseph Smith’s stories) and every time you corner them they always tell you they know it’s true because the spirit told them. To which I say “if someone calls your phone, but you don’t have their number and they say it’s someone you know, how would you know it’s them?” Gods word is His phone number and when He speaks I see it like caller ID cause I’ve read His word and know His character. Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

“Repent of all your sins and iniquities and believe in Jesus Christ that he is the Son of God, and that he was slain by the Jews, and by the power of the Father he hath risen again, whereby he hath gained the victory over the grave; and also in him is the sting of death swallowed up.
“And he bringeth to pass the resurrection of the dead, whereby man must be raised to stand before his judgment-seat.
“And he hath brought to pass the redemption of the world, whereby he that is found guiltless before him at the judgment day hath it given unto him to dwell in the presence of God in his kingdom to sing ceaseless praises with the choirs above unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, which are one God, in a state of happiness which hath no end.
“Therefore repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus, and lay hold upon the gospel of Christ.”
124 years before the coming of Christ, it was prophesied, “And he shall rise the third day from the dead; and behold, he standeth to judge the world; and behold, all these things are done that a righteous judgment might come upon the children of men.”
“Wo, wo unto him who knoweth that he rebelleth against God! For salvation cometh to none such except it be through repentance and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.”
“And now, ought ye not to tremble and repent of your sins, and remember that only in and through Christ ye can be saved?”
“And these things doth the Spirit manifest unto me; therefore I write unto you all. And for this cause I write unto you, that ye may know that ye must all stand before the judgment-seat of Christ, yea, every soul who belongs to the whole human family of Adam.”
Christ himself said, “And for this cause have I been lifted up; therefore, according to the power of the Father I will draw all men unto me that they may be judged according to their works.
“And it shall come to pass that whoso repenteth and is baptized in my name shall be filled; and if he endureth to the end, behold, him will I hold guiltless before my Father at that day when I shall stand to judge the world.”
“And whosoever will harden his heart and will do iniquity, behold, I swear in my wrath that he shall not enter into my rest.”
Those who love these words may be surprised to learn the name of the book in which they are written.

Elder Strong Continuously said, "As missionaries, it is not their job to be able to answer the questions that people outside of the faith may have." Yet the Bible clearly states that as a believer we must be ready to give an answer for our faith. 1 Peter 3:15 - but sanctify in your hearts Christ as Lord: being ready always to give answer to every man that asketh you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, yet with meekness and fear.

Annette Mendoza - It might be helpful to all of us if you would be willing to describe your one family member who has read the Book of Mormon and converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints. Do they still live a Christian lifestyle? Do they still believe Jesus atoned for their sins? Do they still love the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior and Redeemer? I think you will find that they are perhaps improved people as a result of this change. If you would find the courage to read the Biok of Mormon yourself with an honest and inquiring heart, you too could be bettered as a person. That is not implying that you are bad in any way, but it is an incredible book that makes the sincere reader want to follow Jesus more exactly.
Personally, I love the Bible. It is essential. It actually speaks of the coming forth of the Book of Mormon. These two books are God sent to deliver scattered Israel. And you can be the more blessed by incorporating their teachings in your life. No one here wants you to give up any good you have got. The Book of Mormon is a second witness of Jesus Christ that should be loved by every Christian. It is a true record and it blesses lives. Just check it out. May God bless you to do so in all sincerity of heart. He lives and loves us.

Mormonism reminds me of a car dealership. The lead salesman has sold the most cars. He's 19 and he started last year, but he's a elder now. He can't tell you the specs of the engine. He hasn't lived long enough to have owned more than one car. His experience has told him that a certain car is best because he feels it. If a customer speaks of cars of the past he deflects to get this one sold.

When he said the Bible was not meant to be the final word of God I instantly thought of Revelation 22:18-19. I thought you would have brought that up. But this was truly amazing to watch. My father is a pastor and years ago as a child he’s had this very discussion with Mormons. I didn’t fully grasp everything that was going on at the time but I do remember him wrestling to keep them on topic the same way you were. It’s very enlightening. @@alishasheppard1368 Good morning, I am a student of religion and attend church weekly and I know, based on prior conversations and even this video, is based on what each individual feels. Christians differ in what salvation means, based on scripture. Some are Unitarians and others are Trinitarian based on scripture. Some have left Baptist to be Methodist..Pentecostal to Jehovah witness...left chritianity totally and went to to islam or Buddhism..based on what they have read in scripture. And everyone who changes or don't agree seem to be labeled as following a false doctrine. There are some pastors who say women shouldn't be heard , can't cut their hair based on scriptures. Is 2 Timothy 2:11-12 outdated?
I believe my sister, that God supersede the Bible, also, I may add, as people who have been slaves believe that God only visited Europe and no place else. I find that fascinsting. And the fact that king James and his crew interpreted his version of the Bible from an original manuscript called the textus receptus and he decided to leave out books. So since he rejected those books so do we. All I'm saying my sister is that we cannot, as intelligent people, believe that man gave us a book and didn't apply his emotions and interpretations to it. And as I end, God I bigger than any book anyone's mind or perspective. His word is not stagnant, we can't put in a box and contain it. I agree but maybe it was because the Mormon elder would have gotten even further away from the point Preston was making.
Though, I think that the second heaven is not outer space. Although not specifically mentioned in Scripture, I believe the second heaven refers to the invisible plane from which Satan and his demons operate. I would say the atmosphere immediately beside me is the same atmosphere that isn't close to me. It's just an atmosphere. I think all that is natural is part of the same heaven, especially because a distinction between the earth and the sun, moon, and stars, (in the sense of heavens) would be kind of useless. It's all creation so in my opinion, the same heaven.
In Ephesians 2: 2-3, Satan is called the Prince and the power of the air. Like all rulers, he needs a place to reside; this is why I think the second heaven is this plane: an invisible space not located on the physical world, in the sense that it doesn't have an address or literal location. But it is the real place where Satan and his demons reside. Using New Age psychic techniques, people have tapped into this heaven where they encounter spiritual beings, not of God, and practice techniques that allow demons to overtake them, etc.
The third heaven like you said is the home of God (II Corin 12:2)
      Just my opinion :)

Today, I discovered that they do not even ascribe to their own text. They claim to do so but they actually ascribe to the Doctrine of Covenants. The crazy thing about it was that the BoM teaches that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are 1 God. It’s written in Alma, 2 Nephi, Mormon, but the Doctrine of Covenants says something completely different. It was heartbreaking how much trust they put in a man’s word. It also made me realize that they can skip pass things bc we don’t anything about the BoM. The DoC contradicts the BoM, and the BoM contradicts the Bible. I'm a former Mormon and served a mission. These kids are trained in the MTC Missionary Training Center before they begin their missions and are taught how to control the conversation and if they loose that control it's because the investigator is unwilling to cooperate and is contentious, therefore give BM, bear testimony and encourage investigator to read BM and to get confirmation that it is true and then move on unless investigator is interested. I believe Young is sincer in what he believes in, but he doesn't know yet how sincerely he is wrong. God uses these conversations to challenge them and to wake them up and the most important thing for the Christian to do is to be prepared with God's Word and get it in them! Isaiah 55:11 "So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it." Romans 10:14 "How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?" Get the seed in them which is the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit will do the watering. Pray for them that the seeds planted in their soil will take root, because Satan will do everything he can to steal or scatter the seeds! Blessings!

One of the hardest things when talking to the LDS is their foundational misunderstanding of the history and culture of the period, as well as the context of a verse. 1 Corinthians 15 isn't condoning the practice of baptizing the dead. Paul is arguing for the resurrection of the dead, and to aid his point he essentially says even the pagans know there's life after death! Similarly, when he discusses the third heaven, the text isn't talking about a third level, but rather how the natural order was described at the time. The sky was a heaven, the cosmos was a second, and heaven was the third.

hi my name is Terry and i used to be a mormon. I was a mormon for five years. I even went on a mormon mission. One thing that I would like to comment on is that you need to learn the terminology. When they say they are saved what they really mean is that they are going to be resurrected. There are other terms as well that don't mean what you think they mean. It's good that you tried to keep them on one topic. I noticed how elder strong tried to change the subject on you, but you did a good job in bringing him back. i have talked to many mormon missionaries and all i talk to them about is who Jesus is and show them that they have the wrong Jesus. So keep up the good work.

I so desperately wish I could’ve talk to you before you did this interview, I was raised Mormon and when you get into the foundation you nail right on the head. I have since left the church after years and years of trying to figure out whether or not it was right or if it was something that had just been pumped into my brain since I was born, there are so many things I could’ve sent you into this interview with that are very very real questions that are taught right out of the LDS church history that don’t align with what they teach. In fact their teachings are soul south preservationist it’s scary Joseph Smith himself didn’t even follow all of the rules that were laid down in the book of Mormon and doctrine and covenants and the LDS church will openly admit it you just have to go and find it it is arguably one of the greatest deceptions in the history of the world. I feel bad for the missionaries they are only trained for two weeks and most of the kids that are going on missions are doing it only to pacify their parents they’re not Genuinely going because their whole life they have done nothing but pound scripture and want to go serve it’s indoctrinated in you from the time you were born but this is what you have to do in order to be a good person. Great video but you saw how frustrated he would get any time you tried to ask or answer a question this is what the LDS church does they try to talk over you and shut you up and pound their testimony down your throat in hopes that something will stick well it’s the same thing as throwing shit against the Wall if in your mind it’s life or death you’re gonna keep throwing shit until something sticks

    Hey Buddy,
I am member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I also hold a Master in Divinity. I love working with those of other faiths. Now, I have to admit. I didn’t get time to see all of both videos. So forgive me if I say something you guys spoke about in the video.
Over the years I have come to learn that Grace between my faith and other Christians is more of the same definition than you realize. Sadly, you guys missed some critical parts. Keep in mind that the missionaries are not designed to be apologist. When I was a missionary, I wasn’t spending my time studying rebuttals. As I have worked with other faiths, I have come to realize that we, Latter-day Saints, speak with our own jargon. When I understood mainstream Christian jargon I learned that we are speaking the same thing, we just say it (or express it) in different ways.
The thing I was stuck on was 2 Nephi 25: 23, the ol’ “after all we can do” conversation. Don’t get so caught up in that verse, you agree with what the BoM more than you realize. Step back and remember the context 2 Nephi 25:23. Nephi was prior to Christ walking the earth and fulfilling the Law of Moses; Paul was after. This is critical to remember!
Now read 2 Nephi 25 versus 23 and 30 together: 23 For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.
30 And, inasmuch as it shall be expedient, ye must keep the performances and ordinances[i.e. sacraments] of God until the law shall be fulfilled which was given unto Moses.
In fact, in verse 27 Nephi spoke that “we speak concerning the law that our children may know the deadness of the law.” Showing that he knew that the law of moses was going to be dead works.
In other words, “after all we can do” shifts after Christ fulfills the law. Which is what Nephi is saying and it is consistent with the Bible.
If you want a conversation with an LDS apologist I would suggest contacting fairmormon.org I think you might find a more fulfilling group to talk to.

    • @boltrooktwo
      @boltrooktwo 3 года назад

I think another main point in the Bible is that God is the Father of all spirits. Hebrews 12:9 and Ephesians 4:6. When we talk about the church falling away after the apostles were martyred it is entirely because the interpretations of scripture were false and were not followed correctly, not because the words God had given were changed. The words of God were misinterpreted to give people power over others and not used to live by and promote salvation through Jesus Christ. One of the gifts of God is our effort, the effort we have granted in our bodies from our Creator, and all effort we put into godliness is encouraged by His word.

They have a script they follow and they really hot on the spirit world and how we get a second chance to accept Christ and how practically no one will go to the outer darkness. Well except apostates like me.
Everyone will go to one of three heavens.
So all those family and friends that died without Christ have a chance to escape hell.
Tell me the heart isn't going to want to believe that.
The actually really believe the warm feeling in their hearts is telling them it's the truth.

be quiet parrot, you're only parroting lies. You've never heard that from an actual Mormon. Bearing false witness is one the Lord's most abhorred sins.

Where’d the idea of us having our own planets come from? That’s not what we teach.

Brigham Young, 2nd Mormon false prophet, taught Mormons they will be gods and have their have earths and worlds.
“We Shall go on from one step to another, reaching forth into the eternities until we become like the Gods, and shall be able to frame for ourselves, by the behest and command of the Almighty. All those who are counted worthy to become Gods, even the sons of God, will go forth and have earths and worlds like those who framed this on millions on million of others.”
Young delivered this non-sense to the self-proclaimed latter-day saints on Sunday Morning, July 19, 1874, at the funeral services of Elder Thomas Williams, in the 14th Ward Assembly Rooms, Salt Lake (Journal of Discourses Vol. 17, page 143)

This mormon kid is like a used car salesman, public defender, and security guard all rolled into one.

God was revealing himself to multiple prophets throughout the Bible, not just one person like Joseph Smith. That should be a huge red flag.

I really like the young Mormon. He has passion. He really wants to learn the truth. He is very young he will find the answers later in his life because he is smart.

The first heaven is the sky, the second heaven is space, the third heaven is HEAVEN. There’s nothing secret or contradictory about that.

I remember I was talking to Mormon this last 3 month ago, they came in my college!
And what they exactly ask me was where do the Book of Mormon came from?
I’m not done talking them yet but I will definitely go to scriptures to expose them and let holy spirit convict them! Pray that I do this in boldness
Thank You and God bless 🙏
