    I finally made the bread. I did have difficulty baking it in the time specified on the video. It took an hour to bake. I baked it in Romertopf baker. I will try again by letting it proof and preheating the baker. The end result was great. The taste and crust turned out phenomenal.

    Although I’ve made this before, and a big fan of no kneads, this is a great video, and with the recipe. The only change I made was from another recipe, replacing 1/2 the water with carrot juice. Thanks and people, make this it’s good for sandwiches and breakfast with cream cheese.

I was craving it for a while and since we are in quarantine, I couldn’t get it! It turned out great, very delicious. I liked more than the professional one at the restaurant. Thank you so much! Appreciate your help! For reference I doubled the quantity including the dry yeast to use my cast iron 5 quart. I baked it for almost an hr since I have double the quantity. The pot was almost full so next time I’ll make quantity like the video.

    Couple of questions:
    1- I use dried yeast which is no instant active, should I add the yeast to the 1.5 cup water warm then leave 20-30 mins and add all in later or since it rises for so long (18 hr) does it just not matter?
    2- can you crush the walnuts leaving them kernel sized rather than ground rather than cutting?
    3- cranberries are expensive here but we regularly have blueberry quick sales so would blueberries be a good berry for a bread like this?
    4- can you use baking paper rather than greasing?

    I'm a fan of the "second rise". I use a 9 inch frying pan to bake the bread into a loaf. Would you agree that 1 and 1 half hour would work for the second rise? When you don't get a "rise" on the first proofing, your yeast may be out of date.

    I have a question about baking time: 45 min since you place the bread into the oven or 45 min since the temperature reaches 475F? Thank you! ❤

      Hello. If you are baking your bread in a clay pot, like it shows in the video, the countdown will be at the moment you put your bread in the oven. If you are using cast iron pot, which requires preheating, the countdown will start after preheating is done and it will be 30-35 min. In the mean time watch the color of your bread. The crust has to be browned and risen. Thank you 🌹

    Hi may I know the temperature when you bake this bread? I live in Singapore, the temperature here is around 30-33 degree Celsius. Do I need to let the dough rise for that long? and I don't have the cast ion or the cray pot so do I need to let it rise 2nd time? Thanks for your help

    • @NastassjaCanCook
      @NastassjaCanCook  7 лет назад +1

      hoang hai nguyen Hi, I live in a very hot state too. In summer it gets here as hot as 45 celsius. Since we are not making a starter (which takes much longer) it would be beneficiary to let it rise that long. You would have to preheat the oven if you not using clay pot. Also let it second rise for an hour before you bake it. I hope this was helpful 🤗

    If I used a mixer could I reduce the rising time from say 18 hours to 12 hours? I'd like to try this recipe with blueberries, craisins and chopped pecans

    • @NastassjaCanCook
      @NastassjaCanCook  5 лет назад +2

      You can reduce the rising to 12 hours without using mixer. I made the dough at 8 pm and baked the bread at 8 am. No problem. Still comes out good!👍😁

    I was wondering what the number is on the bottom of the clay pot. I have 2 different sizes, and I’m interested in trying your recipe. It is indeed a German product and is of excellent quality…not to mention a bit pricey. Definitely worth the money!!! Thank you in advance.

    • @NastassjaCanCook

      You can, but covered would be better since it creates steam for bread to rise more. To create that steam in the oven, you can place a tray filled with water under baking sheet with bread. 🌹

      Sorry, not a good idea. Fresh cranberries will release a lot of juice and your bread will not look or taste the same. 😊
