It's going to be an endless money pit for the sport. The currency exchange is shocking so practically no revenue from the games held there. Add the costs of flights, only one national carrier so it holds monopoly on the prices unless the NRL looks to charter a Qantas flight. But even then, it's not going to be cheap. Prices start from $700 return up to $1000...for a flight shorter than Cairns to Brisbane.

According to the PNG PM, we dont expect the Australian people or the Australian government to help us fund the NRL PNG team. We want to be competitive, similar to the other bidders. Finally, PNG never asked for a PNG team to enter the NRL. It was the Australian government decision to include PNG. This is the information from PNG. 600 million plus is minimum reparation deal between Australia and PNG. Really PNG has over 25 million plus people already so giving all negative image about PNG won't help us at all but include NRL team for PNG if not China will take advantage of that.
