Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.

I had an opportunity to spend time with an Executive from John Deere....When asked what was one of their most disappointing tractor built and sold by JD....He quickly shared the 4020!!! Obviously asked why... he quickly responded “Lasted Too Long!!”

Yeah I used some for the posts for the electrical panels. It worked but it's expensive and isn't as solid as concrete.

4020 sway blocks will rotate to cat. 1 position and post hole diggers would hook up. However, that would not stop the hydraulic leak. Lol

Dumb question - what does the seed company do with all of the returned seed? Always have wondered that. Nice flag pole, can't wait to see Ol' Glory flying high!
Corn is stored, retested, repackaged and sold next year. Beans are discarded.

Alot of returns??
More than normal for me but I had some extreme circumstances this year. 2 customers swapped corn for beans late and I had a customer that died after his order was shipped.
I am curious what happens to the corn seed you send back? Dose it head way south or get destroyed? Keep waiting to see the rain running in the field and watch you act like a kid with a new toy.

The 4020 has a small steel line under the dash that are known to crack If you cannot find the proper line you can make one out a hydraulic hose
