I bought an Alfa GT 2.0 JTS brand new in 2005 and sold it on February of 2014 with 152.000km . I used the car only for travelling which I did a lot around Europe. I service all the cars I own-ed every 10.000km despite what each of the manufacturer said (most suggest servicing every 20.000km or some 30.000km which I find insane, but nobody remembers that the service book says yearly or .... ,whichever comes first) and the same I did with Alfa . During the 9 years of my ownership nothing was broken or damaged and never paid for anything apart from the maintenance of the car. I literally even sold the car with the factory factory lamps !! When I didn't drive it I had it parked in my garage .What is mentioned as problems to the video was never known to me . I took care of the car as any I had and Alfa took care of me . Many happy memories and enjoyed it on the highways . I had to sell it because I needed a more spacious car . Its been over a year since and I miss it a lot . Surely it has its disadvantages but every car does. What I want to say is that every car if you take maintenance seriously will be reliable . If you are looking for a GT , it might be hard finding a proper one because lots of them are serviced poorly and driven like they were missles but there are owners that take care of them properly .You might have to pay more upon purchase but you will save many euros later ! This car will definitely be a classic beauty in the future .
But you had it from new. Most cars even a Hyundai can be reliable for 9 years. Had you started ownership of a second hand car (10-15) year old mark retained it for 10 years and still had the same experience that you had when new then it would be something. I own several Honda's purchased when they were 10 to 15 years old, I have had them now for over 15 years (30 or near 30 year old cars). I have had the same experiences with them as you had with your new car. Today.
But you had it from new. Most cars even a Hyundai can be reliable for 9 years. To me the test is getting the same experience from a decade old car after owning it for another decade. That is, had you purchased your second hand car at the (10-15) year old mark retained it for 10 years and still had the same experience (normal maintenance, total reliability etc) that you had when new then that would be something. I own several Honda's (CB7 Accord, EF8 CRX, EG2 DelSol and BA5 Prelude) purchased when they were 10 to 15 years old, I have had them now for well over 15 years (near 30 year old cars and I have had the same joyful experiences of normal servicing and reliability with them as you had with your new car.
this car 15 years after its launch is still beautiful. I think its design is somehow timeless. If you look at the competitors this car in those days they look like tuna cans.
Got mine for a year and a half now. 20.000 km added on the clock. Best purchase i ever made. Leave home and work everyday with a smile when i start her up. And there has been no major issues, some minor which were fixed in the warranty.
I have met Parthenon and in every stale i found the gold rule, but i what i say today is that i can find the beauty ia an Alfa Romeo. (Odyssay Elitis, Greek Poet) ZITO Bertone!!
great video; awesome car! Respect for all the insider information I bought the Alfa GT and I am totally happy with it, no rust yet and it's 10 years old:) now I am waiting for the winter, should do fine though' Alfaista
Nice review. Im looking at buying a low price high mileage example with full service history, so going to have to be careful! The GT really stands out from the normal generic boxes on the road today!
Definitely best bang for the buck if you want nice looking 2+2 coupe with absolutely great handling on the road. Just be careful with petrol engines, they are very good but require lot of attention and can be quite expensive to maintain. If the previous owner was careless, you'll have serious troubles.
Le Moulin De La Galette Yeah 2.0 is great engine, performance-wise, but very "sensitive". If you happen to be dedicated petrol head, you might be better with 1.8 because these engines are less prone to malfunctions and are definitely cheaper to maintain properly, They do lack power, though: prepare to get smoked by diesels. If you don't care much about acceleration, then 1.8 should be okay. I, for one, wasn't brave/rich enough to get me petrol engine (naturally, 3.2 V6 was my wet dream), and went the safe route to 1.9 JTDm. It's a robust engine that can take a lot of beating, spare parts and services are dirt cheap, and drives prety much like 2.0. Only thing you're really going to miss is the glorious petrol sound at high revs :-)
is any1 owning a 3.2 v6 here?i wanna to know how much the fuel consumption is for real....i went on sites and i see 13L/100 KM as average...is that true?
Waarom ga je zeuren om bougies? Zoiets heet regulier onderhoud. Zoiets heet journalistiek.
Can somebody give me proper infos about the 3.2 liter engine's fuel consumption? Without pushing the car to its edge could the consumption be at around 10-12 litres?
+Kordovaner B ~13l/100km would be considered average and normal If u are doing lots of country/highway on speed limit u might expect 11l, and with sporty driving averaging over 15 can also be reallity Driving "like on the eggs" 8-9l/100km ... like splitstreaming behind a truck :)

Very nice and informative review/video. Thanks for sharing.
Nice car + review
I was seriously considering a 3.2 V6 but unfortunately the fuel consumption is just insane for a daily driver.
If you are in the USA, you should go for it. Most beautiful front on an affordable car ever.
Will a selespeed auto with 99k km be good? Reliable? Or should I go with manual but more kms
jaja go for the selespeed but you have to rebuild them
Best Car ever!
masterclass

Yeah thats true. Mine is around 8/9 km for 1 litre.
beautiful car thx
Does anyone know what brand/model of the wheels? Looks like a type of OZRacing but I can't seem to be able to find it. Cheers
+I Solomon They look like OZ Superturismo but I think they are optional Alfa Romeo rims

+Kordovaner B Do you mean 10-12 KM/L? Yes, but only on highways/rural roads at 90-120 km/h max, and your feet must be like a plume.

What's with the "hrrr..." in your language? :)))
You know it's an Alfa als de video voor de helft gaat over wat er allemaal aan kan mankeren.
Does all hollanders have this language / saliva problem ?
Hahhahaha
👍👍
If anyone knows how much is an Alpha Romeo GT 1.9 GT new?
not in production anymore ...stopped in 2010
about 35000 euro
Just dont buy the Selespeed
Lmao I can't help but laugh as the comment above you is about buying a Selespeed 😂

everything is nice and beautiful but dat language ..god damn it how can you speak like that :$
+Gℓʋѵɩćħツ sounds like he ate 5 cooked eggs and is now choking and trying to speak :)
Fuzz Ball that's true. We call it a bit gross language
yep, Dutch remains the worst language to listen to.
Why is title and description in English, but video in Dutch or whatever it is? Clickbait? Nobody in the world understands you except you
Click subtitles, pick English. You're welcome.
I learned Dutch to view this video. disappointed
There are fucking subtitles
disliked! when i see english title i expect to understand something
STK Aranaar they did add English subtitles ;)
the only bad thing about this car is the back... most ugly thing ive ever seen in my life
