I agree! I have a Smart Roadster ( not delivered in the U.S ) with ( tuned from 81 horsepower to 109 horsepower ) and it's very fun to drive. It's fun to take roundabouts and when you let your foot of the gas you have a cool turbo sound.
@@asgasg23eh, that in-line 4 has enough headroom to survive up to 230-240 on stock internals as long as you don’t beat on it constantly. You only really need to change motor internals if you’re pushing it beyond that.
@@asgasg23that being said, it’s definitely not overbuilt the way stuff like the 1.9TDI or 2JZ were. If you can tolerate some minor electrical gremlins, an F22/23 M235i with aftermarket metal turbo piping, down pipe, bigger intercooler, and a tune that’s not too aggro will get you going scary fast without risk of blowing up. My TPMS doesn’t work, but the car plus aftermarket parts costs less than a base model new Miata for BMW prestige, great handling, and over 400hp. Ironically, I’d recommend the ZF auto for that setup, they’re some of the best paddle shifter autos on the planet, LFA is still #1 obviously.
I wish more people would stop suggesting for everyone to add forced induction to their cars in order to increase power. Not only are you changing the natural driving dynamics of the vehicle but depending on how many pounds of boost you're adding, supporting mods and additional cooling may be required to maintain a reliable system. I suggest starting off with simple bolt on that allow the car to breath better. Improve your brakes, up the cooling potential, run heavier oil if you plan on being aggressive on the throttle/doing track days. And to go the longer/more expensive route and build up your motor first before slapping on a tubro/super charger. But what do I know, I don't even own a car....
Really these motors were never built for a turbo unlike the old b6/bp motors, and any extra power is going to be taking your chances with destroying the gearbox

I’ve never noticed it bothering me on Ferrari’s or even the Porsche 914. Heck, I actually liked the targa top on the third generation Supra. I actually have a convertible now. I think a retractable hardtop is the best option, followed by a glass roof with a sunroof.
It's shockingly fun to drive. Very light, precise turning and a true go-cart type feel. Not a torque monster but more of a 1990's Honda small 4 cylinder feel....but it's not pushing a lot of weight. Expensive but really fun.

I REALLY like this! I bought my first mazda a few yrs ago, in the form of a 2010 mazda 3 with a 6 spd. Its my daily, and its a blast to drive. Ive been contemplating stepping up to a speed3, but im worried about reliability given the turbo and my hard driving tendencies.
What I want is a large trunk area that you can sleep in a big backseat with TV screens, charging forts built in and out the backseats can also move forward and backwards, and that the forward seats have heating ventilation multiple screens in the front Blindspot cameras, Apple CarPlay, an android auto

A turbo and a new exhaust and you'll be making roughly 210-240HP. That's only 50 less horsepower than a V6 these days

I REALLY like this! I bought my first mazda a few yrs ago, in the form of a 2010 mazda 3 with a 6 spd. Its my daily, and its a blast to drive. Ive been contemplating stepping up to a speed3, but im worried about reliability given the turbo and my hard driving tendencies.
id like to think that when forrest pushed the car it was parked and not in neutral so his finger is strong enough to overcome the inertia of a miata

@@schmo7777this particular car is the highest trim available. As someone else said, the entry-level car is only 28k, which is similar to the original mx5 when adjusted for inflation.
I rented one by accident once.
(It was at an airport location and nobody wanted it because they needed more room).
They offered it to me instead of the standard economy car. And it was so much fun that I didn't want to give it back.
Those cars look awesome in person.
