I think people forget that Rossi won on 125's, 250's, 500's, 990's, and 800's. Each bike is unique and he won championships on all of them. That is why is is one of the top 5 ever. He might be the best but since that is so subjective, saying he's top 5 works for me.
The GOAT - Greatest Of All Time. Perhaps the sun is setting on his GP career now, but he is still in with a shout, and still the most entertaining rider I've ever watched. Good luck Vale.
He is the most experiences rider there. He has had a very long career. He is in mid 30s and at that age it will be hard for him to take as many risks as the other three riders. There are days when even the best of the best have to leave their seats for the new ones but Rossi is still up there and there is no doubt that he will continue to give his 100% to the racing and challenge for that top spot. I just hope he wins at least a few more GPs.

In the last round, he was asked who the best racer of all time was. Agostini or Hailwood? Jorge said Rossi should be in that list. That might seem noble and respectful, but many saw it as Jorge's humble way of saying "Rossi is one of the best, but I am beating him race after race". Lorenzo is a better rider in 2013. Ask that in 5 years
I really hate to say it, but Rossi was lucky at Misano last year... Stoner and Pedrosa were both out, and the ducati worked freakishly well there. That's coming from a huge rossi fan.
Damn, I thought in Italian he's gonna speak way faster but he doesn't still...love it...Not like Jorge Lorenzo who's every word in Spanish needs a 50 % slowed tempo to be understood for the population who know Spanish, man...
Rossi speaks italian very fast normally. But this is some kind of a "professional interview". Thats why probably interviewers asked him to speak much slower.

He waves to his fans with an "I'm trying" forced smile and goes back to his business. He has been a brilliant rider but also UNDERSTANDS the sport from a spectators point of view. The master showman and we love him for it. This is why Lorenzo #99 (great rider but a bit of a wannabe rock star, no matter how humble he plays it) will never attract the fans.
