Christian here in India, have decided not to as well at my home. How can one celebrate when there is so much wrong going on with Palestinians. As people we have to stop going in cycles, doing what we have done year after year, and ignore what is happening at the core of humanity now.

Glad to see its not only us not celebrating. Though last night , my florist i use often at Christmas to decorate the house , knocked on my door. He asked if he had done something to offend us. We didnt decorate. I told him we were very very sad. And didnt feel like celebrating this year. He gave us a gift. A 6 foot tall live tree. I was surprised. I assured him we would continue to use him in the future . He understood. I told him we wantvto decorate for Asian new year. He smiled. I respect everyones opinions. If you want to celebrate . Great! My mother dreamt that there came out of her light by which the palaces of ash-Shaam were illuminated.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah (1545). Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his Tafseer (1/444): The fact that ash-Shaam is singled out in conjunction with his light indicates that his religion and his teachings will abide in Bilaad ash-Shaam. Hence at the end of time, ash-Shaam and its people will be a stronghold for Islam, and in that land ‘Eesaa ibn Maryam will come down. (End quote.) With regard to the lack of religious commitment in some eras, this may happen for some wise purpose that Allah, may He be exalted, wills. But this does not cancel out the general principle. In some hadiths, the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) indicated that the people of ash-Shaam may become corrupt, and if that happens, then its impact will affect the entire ummah. It was narrated from Mu‘aawiyah ibn Qurrah that his father said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “If the people of ash-Shaam become corrupt, then there is no goodness in you, but a group of my ummah will remain victorious, not harmed by those who let them down, until the Hour begins.” (Narrated by at-Tirmidhi (2192).

*There are saheeh hadees reports which indicate that faith and goodness are greater in ash-Shaam(Greater Syria-Palastine) than in other lands.*
It was narrated that Abu’d-Dardaa’ said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whilst I was sleeping, I saw the pillar of the Book being taken from beneath my head, and I thought that it was being taken away, so I followed it with my gaze, and it was taken to ash-Shaam. Verily faith, when tribulations come, will be in ash-Shaam.”
Narrated by Imam Ahmad in al-Musnad (36/62); classed as saheeh by the commentators on al-Musnad.
This is similar to the words of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him):
“The heartland of the believers is ash-Shaam.”
{Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa (27/42)}
It was narrated that Ibn Hawaalah said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “This matter will end with you becoming massed troops: troops in ash-Shaam, troops in Yemen, and troops in Iraq.”
Ibn Hawaalah said: Choose for me, O Messenger of Allah, if I should live to see that.
He said: “You should go to ash-Shaam, for it is Allah’s chosen land, to which He will gather His chosen slaves. But if you refuse, then go to Yemen and draw water from your ponds, for Allah has promised me that He will take care of ash-Shaam and its people.”
{Narrated by Abu Daawood (2483).}
This goodness will remain among them, if Allah wills, until the end of time, until Allah, may He be exalted, destroys the Dajjaal and his followers at their hands, when the Messiah ‘Eesaa ibn Maryam comes down and leads the believers in the fight against the Dajjaal.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (r) said:
The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) highlighted the distinct character of the people of ash-Shaam by noting that they will continue to comply with the commands of Allah until the end of time, and that the victorious group will remain among them until the end of time. This is speaking of an ongoing matter that will remain with them, that they will be numerous and strong.
This description does not apply to anyone in the Muslim world except the people of ash-Shaam… knowledge and faith are still present in that land, and whoever fights in that land to support the faith will be victorious and will be granted divine help.
End quote from Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa (4/449).
It was narrated that Abu Umaamah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: O Prophet of Allah, what was the beginning of your affair? He said: “The prayer of my father Ibraaheem and the glad tidings of ‘Eesaa. My mother dreamt that there came out of her light by which the palaces of ash-Shaam were illuminated.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Silsilat al-Ahaadeeth as-Saheehah (1545).
Ibn Katheer (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his Tafseer (1/444): The fact that ash-Shaam is singled out in conjunction with his light indicates that his religion and his teachings will abide in Bilaad ash-Shaam.
Hence at the end of time, ash-Shaam and its people will be a stronghold for Islam, and in that land ‘Eesaa ibn Maryam will come down. (End quote.)
With regard to the lack of religious commitment in some eras, this may happen for some wise purpose that Allah, may He be exalted, wills. But this does not cancel out the general principle.
In some hadiths, the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) indicated that the people of ash-Shaam may become corrupt, and if that happens, then its impact will affect the entire ummah.
It was narrated from Mu‘aawiyah ibn Qurrah that his father said: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “If the people of ash-Shaam become corrupt, then there is no goodness in you, but a group of my ummah will remain victorious, not harmed by those who let them down, until the Hour begins.”
(Narrated by at-Tirmidhi (2192).

I wrote the comment below in reply to a lady from Finland who had expressed deep sympathy for an Israeli baby boy, who was shot in his crib, and she claimed, died on Oct 7. I gave the information that I had found on many sites..I suppose she was inspired to comment, as she had visited her local church, and seeing the baby Jesus in his crib, it had brought this 'report' to mind.
It may just be coincidence, but when I looked back, I couldn't find her comment or my reply. So if it is still there, hidden in some corner, I apologise.
I have reposted it in case it is missing. As it had nothing untrue or venomous in it. I can't see why it would deliberately disappear, but who knows? Probably just a technical error?

I extracted this from an article about Oct 7 detailing fatalities. While every death is a tragedy and the attack on Oct 7 horrific, I don't know where you got the info about the baby boy being killed in his crib. And who is to say whose bullet actually killed the poor girl. It's coming out now ( even in the Israeli press, that many of the deaths on that day were ' friendly fire' and caused by the IDF who turned up much more quickly than originally said. While horrendous, you have to put the attack into the context of the murders and oppression that had been going on in Palestine for decades. There are probably many dead Palestinian babies who died in their cribs, have you no love and sympathy in your heart for them? Including the 4 who died in incubators. How many tens of thousands have died in the IDF's attack on Gaza? There is evil on both sides....

So, there are no evil IDF soldiers with hate in their hearts? 200 of the dead were Hamas. Are they such inept operatives that they burned themselves to death, so badly that bodies were melted together? To think that Israel has no part in the situation is to be blind to the truth.
If someone, with bigger and better guns and weapons told Israelis to get out of Israel, a country only formed 75 years ago and that many of its citizens have lived in for a relatively short time, do you think they would leave willingly? So why do they think that Palestinians, who have historically been in the area in continuous residency for far longer, will not fight to keep their country?
I am sad that the world has come to this. How can you believe that Israel makes Jews in Israel 'safer'? Or Jews anywhere 'safer'? Or the whole planet's geopolitical stability 'safer.'?
And ask a lot of people if they think, the Bible counts as the deeds for land ownership and I think that you will find that the answer is, no.

That's how much they care. Israel is not obligated to put their enemy's children above their own. Bottom line- Hamas once again chooses violence and terror over their peoples' future. Imagine the peace and prosperity that Gaza could be enjoying if they had leaders that cared more about them than they do killing Jews.
