The actor who played Ivar is amazing. He literally steals every scene he's in. I hope to see more from him. His range in just this show was fantastic.

After everything Ivar did, it is so hard to hate him coming to the end of the serie, he was after all a true viking
I love Ivar so much, I knew he was going to die in battle. But it was his choice and the way he wanted things to go. He changed so much, his character development is one of the most beautiful out of all the Sons of Ragnar.

I wouldn’t go that far. Ivar is the first character in the many shows I’ve watched that I cried for when I completely hated him. However I can see why people would still hate ivar, He did some *very* fucked up shit that never really got resolved.
@@GgCashh451 the ones that hated him lack empathy...he scared me alot at first but as he evolved i understood him in every way... its like i saw myself.... and i even know the mental disorder he had..its called reactive attachment disorder.... ivar had come the farthest out of everyone despite his disabilities. The Seer: "You would go anywhere not to meet your fate, but you would still meet it. There's no escape." With an immediate cut to Ivar acknowledging his mortality, hoping itd be in valor. On his way to the final battle of his life he broke his leg again. He knew his brittle bone disease would take him. He wanted to go out in battle, like a viking. He accepted his fate of death and knew what the Seer was saying on a deeper level. Great editing and my favorite character after Ragnar. Love this show.

Ivar The Boneless, scourge of the world is definitely the most charismatic character I've never seen on screen. When he opened his wonderful blue eyes in season 4, I instantly fell in love. Everything about his fascinating. He's smart, a real leader even though he's also mad and ruthless. Alex Høgh Andersen is a great actor and I want to see more of him in the future

Now that’s how you make and build a character! Some moments you hate him some moments you love but you will never forget the name ivar the boneless I figured he would die at the end of the show but I didn’t expect to feel the type of way I did when I watched it it broke my heart 😭😭😭😭

This character is, in a very weird way, probably the most relatable in the whole show. This beautiful edit shows that perfectly in 3 acts, and I got chills from the very last act, as everyone tells me personally that the things I've been led to believe - things I genuinely believe - that are bad about me, are actually good, and that I shouldn't feel the way I do about them. Ivar is a true representation of how we are formed by the people around us that care, and also the people who do not care, even perhaps hate. Good job, seriously, you did so well on this video, it's such a beautiful and well put-together piece of art.

He achieved lasting fame and reputation, which is what every Viking of the time wanted more than anything. His name will echo through the generations. He built a fearsome and brutal reputation in the show, showing no weaknesses because of his condition. He had to be even more brutal than his brothers to spread fear and respect.
This was Incredible! My all time favorite character. Especially during these last 10 episodes he showed his true colors. Thank you for this beautiful creation. You've done Ivar justice. Sköl!!!!

Moving cut. Ivar was truly the central Villain-Protagonist of the show, a fitting denouement.
Almost 10 minutes of perfection. You really showed every side of Ivar here, and the last part could not have been better. You really managed to pull some emotions out of me with the final song. And I also thought that "Not today" would be a good title for an Ivar video. I'm glad someone used it! I hope this isn't the last Vikings edit from you, you clearly are good with this show!

I dont think he was ragnar's favorite son. I think Ragnar saw the potential for greatness in him if he ever focused himself but Bjorn was his favorite because of their long history and I think Ubbe would have been his true favorite if he had been around when he was growing because Ubbe was truly the most like him.

What legacy are you talking about? Ivar was fueled by vengeance and only wanted power for himself, totally different from Ragnar. Ivar destroyed the settlement Ubbe gained just so he could have it all and rule. What legacy of Ragnar did he fulfill?
Ragnar never wanted to be king, he hated the burden of kingship but he did it for his people. He didnt want the fame and he didnt believe the future of the vikings was depended on the raids and pillages
Ragnars legacy was with Bjorn, Ragnars dream was with Ubbe.
Ragnar never wanted to be king, he never proclaimed himself to be a god. Ragnar wanted to get land for his people and to protect his people, Bjorn protected his people while Ivar killed them, Ubbe explored the world for land just like Ragnar did.
The legacy of Ivar is his own, not Ragnars.
@@nilimaroy9246 in my opinion, the raid that Ragnar and Ivar went on where Ragnar essentially set himself up to be captured and killed was the legacy. Ragnar wanted to a)make up for a previous failed raid and b) set the wheels in motion to kill the king that ultimately killed him. Ragnar absolutely wanted stardom, fame and riches...if that weren’t the case if would have stayed a farmer. Which he didn’t. He left his wife and child in search for greater things. In turn he married another woman and had four other boys with said wife. His death...and sending Ivar back to avenge his father’s death...would lead to Ragnar being a great warrior instead of being known as the king who failed his last raid. I’m not saying Ivar was perfect...he certainly had his issues and most of season five I hated him....I often told the TV/Ivar to “Come it the fuck down, Trump.” Lol.
Ivar’s entire life was filled with people doubting him, turning their back on him, and scarring him with false rumors about his dick not working. He was a messed up little boy trapped in a man’s body. Him going to Rus and being face to face with the mirror image of the absolute worst version of himself...changed him. It humbled him.
Furthermore, I’m not sure how sane I would be after some asshole killed my mom for no reason other than jealousy.
Ivar was also very much the one son that wanted to keep paganism on the table in a time when Christianity was sweeping the world. Ubbe and Bjorn were a little bit like this but only after having Christianity being crammed down their throats.
Bjorn just wanted the title of king...he literally killed his son by releasing a group of Ivar’s men. And funny how Bjorn was all upset at Hvitserk for killing Lagertha when that woman did the same thing to his mother.
Just my thoughts though and to each their own.

Wish ivar could have kept his anger at bay enough to stay with his brothers. They could have taken over all of england if they had all stayed together.
That’s have been unstoppable with ivars mind, bjorns sword, ubbe’s calmness but also one of the best warriors ever.

Such a great actor and characterization. I just hate what they did with some of the writing.. I really wish they had kept his fury, his ruthlessness, but directed it away from his brothers, which is when his story was the best, like when he's fighting the English. I wish he'd had at least some bond with his brothers, like he did with Ragnar, Floki and Igor.

Imagine if men/women still fought with sword and shield... would the world be a more steady place when war isn't based on "the most powerful weapons" but skill and trade. Would there be a more familiar practice upon the world? I personally feel like there would be, beyond ones beliefs and/or power. It would be based on true strength and skill. Not a power based on weaponry, counts, votes, lies and less, one single man. Yet a power that has come from years of training and tolerance. A battlefield based on true strength and practice. Could this be imagined as a better world if so? Give me your thoughts, no negativity, just questions worth answers.

I just wished he killed more main characters.
Also love the lore of Ivar. Having his bones buried in England to ward off any who thought to invade his conquered land. I forget what that’s called when a king does that. Then to have his bones dig up by a later Viking king in order for him to take that land. The superstitions really got brought to life in the history books.
