- Nintendo's Wii U console goes up against Apple's iPad in a contest to see what is the best thing to come out the early 2010s. It's a battle between the tablet/console/capacitive touchscreen/disk device that could (until it couldn't and was replaced by the Nintendo Switch) and the slab computer that dared to ask 'what is a computer?' (turns out it's a MacBook if you actually need to get something done). As always on this channel, the findings are one hundred percent scientifically accurate. #shorts #retrogaming
Technically, the Wii U is portable. Just unplug the console and move it to a different outlet.
Question for y’all: If a Nintendo DS can no longer charge and is forced to be plugged in, can it still be considered as portable?

Edit: I guess I was not exactly clear here. I was referring to the fact that the WiiU was second place in terms of Retro Emulation Devices. Obviously the Steam Deck beats it.

I have hundreds currently flying around, and they are all broken and they are all hard to fix. I'm livin my life with my dream phone, the flip 3, and I had a great time with my friends playing sup. Mario Bros u or Super Luigi u and the gamepad was a crazy piece for us. We also had iPads, but no good game except GTA, which only one guy at a time could play
@@slapshotjack9806oh and I was indeed a full apple user, but couldn't enjoy it cause of the lack of 3rd party apps. Im now a Android/Samsung guy, had a iPhone X, now flip 3 for 400€. Apple watch se, now Samsung watch 4 for 150€. Had a iPad pro 4th gen, now a Samsung Tab S8 plus. Oh and: do you wanna buy my apple pencil? It's the only one I couldn't sell. It landed 2 times in the washing machine and still lives with some inaccuracy =)

As someone who grew up with those 2 devices on their time i can say that the ipad 1 now and then was a good device for gaming, but the Wii u is much better Beacause has multiplayer

The Wii U web browser was actually surprisingly good and fast. Definitely the fastest of all the console browsers.

Many games on wiiu are awesome. I'm glad that dojo mode exists in splatoon, bc i don't have online and i can play with my bro. I woule have hoped more games used the "each player with their screen" concept.

Via homebrew, you can run linux on the wii u. Its limited to one cpu core and software rendering, so most things take an extremely long time, but it technically works.

You know you can jailbreak your ipad to run wii and gamecube games using dolphinios. Then connect a controller via Bluetooth and also upscale the games to 1080p or 4K depending on the model

the wii U is a portable console, as long as you have some way to power it (i modified mine to run off USB C, have the console in a backpack, and us the gamepad to play games. most games can be played on the gamepad without the TV output.
