We live in southeastern Illinois on a 41 acre homestead. We just finished building our log cabin in 2018. Now we are focused on trying to grow our own food and raise livestock. Follow us on our journey we continue to develop our homestead and farm, while becoming more self sufficient.

My Aunt was living in northern New Jersey when Tropical Storm Sandy struck more than a decade ago now. She, at age 94, was without power for 29 days. I got there on day 4... and was able to provide power to her essential loads with my vehicle. She was pleased to have a hot cup of coffee... tho all the food in her fridge and freezer had already gone bad. She wasn't much for chopping firewood... but she did have a fireplace... so we heated her house that way and cooked with power generated by my vehicle and a 3500 watt inverter. You have a great situation... a backup and then backups to your backups... it's like you not only have plan B... but plans C thru Z. Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. If you ever do have to weather a storm, let us know how things go.
Awesome job
Wonderful work, colleague👈👍😉
Hey just an idea for your tire changer. Mount it in the corner of the pallet to give yourself more room. Also ALWAYS ALWAYS use lube to both take the tire off and put on. It will save you alot of work. I use water and dawn dish soap in a spray bottle
I was going to say the same thing. Definitely use soapy water for lubrication.
Evan, ingenious use of an old piece of machinery, upcycling and saving from the dump.
Hi.... Evan and Rebecca thanks you for showing your video homestead bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍
Woo Hoo. Im sure you've made Pete proud with the Tractor repair and renovation.
The Gnerator will help with having a Plan A through Z,
Looking forward to seeing this thing making some cameos.
Your knowledge amazes me!
Real nice job. Hope that Allis project is on tap for this winter.
Evan, you may mess up projects sometimes, but all your projects look great when you finish.👍
Loved the video . I enjoy seeing someone paying attention to the details and doing a topnotch job .👍
Looks good. A lot better all painted up than if you had left it ‘as is’.
Fantastic job! Congratulations.
Another great job, Evan. Nice sweatshirt.
Thank you Evan for sharing your project with us. I enjoy it when you get an interesting item at an auction then repair, rejuvenate and update into a usable piece of equipment. What you do I am sure inspires many homesteaders to persevere. I certainly am encouraged by your ingenuity. Thanks again and be well, safe and blessed. You and Rebecca are very entertaining and encouraging. ☝️🙏🙌💪🤠🇺🇸❤️🎯
AMEN!
As you've learned Evan, machinery is ALWAYS painted when it's together!
AMEN to making this repair in one video.
Awesome tool to have on a farm Incase it’s needed in the FEILD for a equipment repair. ! Looks great !!
Nice project, Evan. Ol' Sparky looks really nice and should serve you well. As I was taught, any job worth doing is worth doing right! 👍
Nice work, Evan
Having that multi-functional PTO generator will bring significant peace of mind, especially with challenging times ahead. Put a value on that, in addition to the financially valuable asset you now have and the project seems well worth the effort.
Damn'' that thing looks brand new'' great job I'm impressed,👍
Very very nice Evan!
Your vlogs are relaxing Evan thanks for sharing my friend
Another great video Evan
Very nice work! Can’t go wrong with a portable welder. Congratulations!
Absolutely!
I have the exact same generator. I made the trailer that the generator sits on. I extended a hitch out the back so I could tow a trailer if I needed a bunch of electric tools. I also made a bracket that ataches to the hitch so that I can set my welder on if I just need my welder. I put a 60 amp range cord into a small panel box with a few 110 volt and 220 volt outlets. I could do minor repairs away from the shop. When I was diary farming it would start and run my 7 1/2 HP electric feed grinder.
Awesome little machine!
What a beautiful restoration!! ❤👍🏻
Great work on the Generator facelift it looks great.
Really satisfying to watch… love the channel
Job well done Evan.
Nice job, My late husband use to only finish to 3/4 every dam thing he worked on, Drove me nuts , and he was very handy like you with fixing things ,

Good evening Evan and Rebecca
Nice rig many uses around the farm live well God Bless from Central Kentucky.
Good job! Try a few squirts of dish washing detergent when removing tires! Less tiring (excuse the pun)😊
That looks really good. Now do your hay cutter!
Love your design 😊
Soapy water my friend is tire changing miracle
It is amazing what a little soapy water will do when doing tire repair. Try that next time Evan it will make the job alor easier
You did a great job !!! Love watching how you take things apart, clean them up and put it back together. We learn so much from you !! Thanks!! How is the pond doing with the duckweed ?
Good episode.
That’s a fantastic genset. Great work, it looks the goods.
It would be handy to have YOU around. LOL Great video!
Another excellent project, job well done Evan.👌💯
Fantastic work on the generator Evan. I like what you did there, well worth the effort, I think it was the right thing to do! Good luck with running the house on it, looking forward to that video. Thanks and have a good evening and great Friday!
Outstanding Craftsman ship 👍!!!!😇
Beautiful job
Good video, nice to see you get a project completed, looking forward to the next video.
Nice work mate, nothing wrong with a bit of pride.
You are AMAZING Evan!!💯
It’s beautiful work. It looks new and works great. I was skeptical when you bought it. Good work!
You're the man Evan😊
Personally I think this was a great project and has a great deal you can do with it now.
Cool handy dandy tool.
Awesome setup. I would suggest that you reinforce your mounting bracket for the welder. Bouncing down the driveway or across a field will break those two bolts. Great video.
Very straight well done young man.
Good job on uour project Evan ! And it looks beautiful ! Works great ! 😊
Projects that aren't 100% done are my trademark! Nice work on this one... and all your other projects. They may not be complete but they are still worth doing!
Looks great!
Like the TYM hoodie, like that you did a start to finish, It looks good redone and you will say the same everytime you use it.
That is actually a very good job done
Looks brand spanking new! 👍
Nice Project, turned out Beautiful...
Nice job!
You can also use this pto generator at your dad's house (7 miles away). Make sure your dad 240 plugs are compatible.
you forgot the spot for welding rods so its only 95% done 😊
Looks great Evan. Well done.
Looks terrific, nice job, hope you never need it to power your house!👏🏻👏🏻🇺🇸
Nice job Evan will be very handy piece of kit around the farm best wishes from the UK
You are really good at that Evan great job on the generator/ mobile welder make over..

Nice job, it looks like it will be a nice addition to the farm.
7:17 You probably already looked but the alternator's specs are at that time stamp. Love your channel Evan. Thank you!
Another great job and video, the generator looks like a new one....THUMBS UP...
Great project and great job!! Thank you for sharing!!
Cool project, 20 kWh will run almost any welder. Glad to see it works. Thanks
Came out real nice, good job!
You are so lucky that it even generated....
well done. you always give it 100%. It does look brand new.
Awesome. Cool idea.
Very cool deal!
Very nice work Evan.
Great job. Looks good. All the best 🇬🇧.
The man with all the toys, After hurricane Ian here in Florida and no power for 4 weeks this would have helped better than the generators we used.
Nice restoration and mod. Thumbs up.
Great job. The ice storm that hit most of the Midwest in early 78, we used a PTO generator at my sisters house because the sump pump ran a lot. Saved us from flooding! Looks very good. Very talented and just what a farmstead needs! Thanks for sharing. Brings back a lot of memories!
I remember that storm. They sold a lot of those PTO type generators. Then sold a lot of larger horsepower tractors to run the generators.
Nice job! Way to GO!!!!!
Good Job thx For Sharing
Looks great Evan!
Looks great
You need to install a Digital Voltage Current Frequency Meter on that so you don't feed dirty power into your house
Awesome job! Looks like an incredibly useful tool to have around and now I kind of want one too! Lol
Evan, it looks great too!
Enjoyed video,allice will be jealous.🔨🔨☘️🇮🇪
Evan, a couple of tips from an old guy. I had a portable welder that had two 220 volt outlets and two 110 volt outlets. I could use the two 110s while I was welding for a grinder and lights. The generator was twice the size of yours and it was a 250 amp welder. It all was powered by a 20 hp Onan that did it effortlessly.
Also when you are dismounting tires you need to lubricate the beads with soapy water, preferably dish soap.
We love your channel immensely.
Art & Melissa from Ohio
Pretty cool project. I swear you can do anything.
Nice job on that hitch!!
