There is no difference from changing the color settings of the screen, they claim that they only increase performance in order to sell new hardware, they are the modes that prove this best.
The fact that Nvidia are still showing side-by-side comparisons with RTX on and off, it goes to show that besides real world reflections, RTX is completely unnecessary. Even with DLSS 3.5, I still wouldn't use RTX.
Notice how both angles, the one on the left (RTX off) the angle is lower, why is that? Do they want to hide the reflections that are already rasterized in the game world without the need for RTX?

All these graphics enhancements seem to make tiny incremental improvements that are barely noticeable. Recently I compared the difference between 1990s era graphics and the PS3 era, then the PS3 era to now. It's roughly the same timeframe. The difference between mid 90s graphics and Last of Us on PS3 is so massive it's mind-blowing. The difference between Last Of Us on PS3 and the very best graphics today is... underwhelming at best.
Interesting that RTX turns black and white monitors into color monitors at 22:34 . I guess in their tech demo it is important to make non-rt version look as bad as possible :D Oh, and it also makes 2D keyboard turn into 3D! LMAO!
DLSS is a reduction in resolution, so it can be enabled on any card; to do this, just reduce the resolution and increase the sharpness on the monitor, and this will increase FPS
@@momoware People complain about blurring with Dlss. On my iiyama monitor, with a decrease in resolution and an increase in sharpness by 80%, it is not noticeable that this is a reduced resolution
Basically rtx is just a brightness and they gave a bit of a details tobe relevant lmao they should stop doing more of ray tracing it hurts for the eyes eventually instead focus more on a reality looking graphics, for example transformers movie type of graphics
I changed a 6800XT for a 4080 SUPER, the only reasons were DLSS quality, Frame Generation efficiency and Ray Tracing quality (i like it but i totally understand those who don´t care).... Of course is a GPU much better than the 6800XT but in QHD there are no games that i play under 100 FPS, didn´t tried Alan Wake 2 but CyberPunk with full Ray Tracing and DLSS in quality mode, all ultra, 120 FPS in most parts, Stafield with all in ultra and DLSS quality, 130 FPS... No regrets
ray tracing off. Great graphics Ray tracing on (hardly any real noticeable changes but great graphics) I'm sorry but they are pushing this like its like the jump from PS1 to PS4 graphics. Its not.
Yet still we havent solved the blurry edges in games issue resolution based solutions and DLSS and that lot are great for performance but not when the developers rely upon it so it can't perform at native 4k max settings on most systems that arent 40 series if you want a decent framerate... I'm sick of these games all looking like oil paintings because the lines look so blurred the image looks out of focus especial when in an organic setting!
I don't run dlss as my gaming rig pushes well over 100 fps without it in most games at 4k max settings rt on. Playing Ghost of tsushima now, great looking game. The last game was hellblade 2, and that game is unmatched visually. I'm looking forward to playing the upcoming games.
No DLSS, max settings RT ON, 4k and over 100 fps? You must be playing Minecraft on a 4090 otherwise that is virtually impossible for any recent game in 2024. Maybe after the RTX 5000 series launch early 2025.
@HanzickBR most games with heavy rt reflections like alan wake2 and cyberpunk will only go 60-90 fps but the ones with only rt light and shadows usually go 100-144, no rt gets higher but my oled will only do 144hz at 4k so gsync locks it there.
Imagine buying a over-priced gpu to use upscaling technology to get over 60 fps.... I remember the shitstorm war on consoles when they got flamed by pc user's for using that technique.

Lmao in Wukong part you can see that nasty dlss ghosting effect on leaves, i hate these cheap tricks.
If you hate ghosting, you can use DLAA...but Wukong is still in development so give it a year after launch and see how it looks.
DLSS is a reduction in resolution, so it can be enabled on any card; to do this, just reduce the resolution and increase the sharpness on the monitor, and this will increase FPS
Upscaling is not just increasing the sharpness. 4K with DLSS performance definitely looks better than 1080P with sharpness cranked.
