  • Hello and welcome to my latest tutorial.
    To make this pendant you will need -
    • 0.8mm wire (20g), 2 x 12" (31cm) 1 x 6" (15cm)
    • 0.3mm weaving wire (28g) 200cm (I wind mine onto a bobbin, but you can cut lengths as you go if you prefer)
    • drilled cabochon or large bead, mine is 20mm by 20mm (you can use a different size and shape, just remember to adjust wire lengths and weave repeats accordingly)
    • bead, mine is 10mm, again you can use any size you like
    • small cabochon or cubic zirconia, 5mm
    • 2 x 3mm beads
    • 2 jump rings, whatever size you have handy. Mine are 10mm and 8mm outside measurement
    I no longer put links to tools on here.
    The tools I use are:
    • Tronex needle nose pliers
    • Tronex short round nose pliers
    • Tronex razor flush cutters
    • Beadsmith flat nose nylon jaw pliers
    • Occasionally I use tronex bent nose pliers
    • Occasionally I use heavy-duty wire cutters
    • Occasionally I use xuron needle nose pliers
    • Bobeeze bobbins (medium size with no extra weights)

    You are so lovely to learn from. I love that you show each step. It’s important to know what to do to fix errors, but you have a gift for teaching! I love how my piece turns out!

    I just had to say that I was following along using the proper size wire and surprised to find 3mm beads. The heart bead I am using is one that I got from Moosebeads who sells "bubblegum" beads used primarily for beadable items such as pens. (So excited to wire wrap them.) Your design makes my red heart look like a million dollars. Not quite finished and it doesn't look as elegant as yours. But as an ambitious beginner, I really appreciate you. You are a very, VERY good teacher. 😊 I bought several tutorials of yours on Etsy and I highly recommend them. Very well written with plenty of photos.
    I have just had a very enjoyable night. Thank you Kelly!

    I love this pendent. It is simple yet beautiful. The only this that I wish you did different was to add a bail instead of just a jump ring. That
    would have made it prefect! Love your work. You do a beautiful job. Thank you for helping us learn.

    Hello Kelly, this piece is absolutely beautiful. I’ve been working with epoxy resin for a while now, and I have been trying to take it further by incorporating some wire wrapping. I’m so happy I found your channel. I cant begin to tell you how this craft has taken my pieces to the next level.

    Thank you so much for sharing your talent Kelly. I didn’t have a high dome cab that went with my heart stone so I improvised and used a 6mm oval stone but with half round wire instead to hold the little bugger in place better than the round wire. I was surprised but it worked!

    I know you felt like it was hard to see how to capture the little dangle, but you did a wonderful job showing it! I can definitely see how you swirled the wire around the 5mm. I love how simple and elegant this piece came together. Thank you for another great video!

    @Kellie Jones hello luv, I believe I heard you say that there would be a supply list written out for this in or under the comments. Where are these? Mean while I get the beads that are used, one being the heart that is drilled long ways. A 6 mm fancy bead and 2 x 12" lengths of_??_gauge wire and 1x 6" length of ?? gauge Thanks for the adding of the 'inches' for the metric handicapped Yanks.

    Beautiful Kelly! Thank you! I'm going to use this design on a project I've got going here on youtube. But I have a question...
    You usually ask not to show the back... But you haven't in this tutorial... Does that still apply with this design?
    I will definitely be stating that this is your design and add a link to this video😊

    • @KellyJonesJewellery
      @KellyJonesJewellery  Год назад +1

      Yes I ask you don't show the back or in progress as it gives the design away, and I really appreciate you mentioning me when you do share images. Sometimes I get so carried away with the design I forgetto mention it. I'll have to put in the the descriptions below in future for if I forget to mention it again😊 thank you ❤️

    I am pretty new to wire wrapping and I have tried a few of ur tutorials but I find I am having a hard time with the curves not the tight swirls but the curves u use in a lot of ur tutorials do u have any tips on how to do them, other than practice of course lol

    • @KellyJonesJewellery
      @KellyJonesJewellery  2 года назад +1

      I think you just need to really take your time with the bends, move the wire a tiny movement at a time to see where it's going. Same with wrapping, take each single wrap one at a time so if you are doing something wrong with the tension or the actual wrap or bend you should be able to see it as it happens. Other than that it's just down to practice. Play with scrap wire, bend it and curl it, use pliers to see how much tension you need to use with pliers, and just generally get to know your wire.
      The other thing is the actual wire itself. If your wire is coated it will be hard to work with and won't flow like mine. I use dead soft, uncoated, raw copper or sterling and fine silver only.
      Hope that makes sense 😊💕

    Hi Kelly the base wire you use in this video ...is it dead soft ...or soft ...or half hard plz ...hope I'm making sence I'm very very new to wire wrapping love x

    • @KellyJonesJewellery
      @KellyJonesJewellery  Год назад

      Hii, I use soft. I'm in the UK so it's soft or hard. I always use soft. I find some wires are too tough anyway, so always soft. In the US it's called dead soft. If I'm buying from the US I always make sure it's dead soft 👍
