I love how the music is set up so it'll typically match the flow of the battle pretty well, like at 0:29 where Metal Sonic transforms and does the first attack that actually knocks rings out of you, the music being a bit less upbeat to match that. The buildup of 1:10 matches Metal using the emeralds to transform into the larger robot from Xtreme's concept art, the music becoming much more threatening because now every attack they throw out hurts you. Then my favorite part, 2:00, lines up with around the end of the fight. Though the boss is at its strongest, chances are the player has it figured out, dodging everything and whittling them down as the fight rises from the water and back into the sky for a grand finale.
