What I really don't understand about this map is that the game tells you not to let Caspar kill the Death Knight, as if he's a green unit or something. It makes no sense to me, tells you not to let Caspar kill the Death Knight as if that's something he can reasonably do for one, but it also gives you control of Caspar, so the only way that you would be letting Caspar kill the Death Knight is if you told him to. So it doesn't make sense. The wording is weird at best, and outright nonsensical at worst. Can someone explain to me why the game tells you this? I honestly don't understand.
No when the text says make sure "he" doesn't lose they're referring to Caspar. In other words, don't let Caspar die. They must've updated this though because I just did the quest, and I didn't get any of the dialogue with the Imperials harpin on Death Knight or Caspar and Merecedes conversation before the battle starts. The Imperials just came running and then the quest conditions showed up saying to Rout all enemies but Death Knight to win, meaning you don't need to kill Death Knight since he's OP, and not to let Byleth, Dimitri, Mercedes, or Caspar die.
He actually WAS going to not kill Death Knight at first due to Mercedes request. In fact, it's entirely up to the player to attack Death Knight. If Caspar defeats him, you get the Scythe of Sariel, too, so it's not entirely a bad thing and Death Knight doesn't die here.
@@superblanco444 maybe, but it is also possible (though highly unlikely) that the Death Knight would have defended his sister and helped her escape (I wouldn't say he'd join afterwards, just this one favor).
