For this video I finished the final mission many times & experimented & recorded different character combinations. After that I edited the Raw footage in a transformative manner to inform & educate the viewer about hidden dialogues.

I think Edelgard's conversation with the professor is so sad. "I grow weak facing you". I did Crimson Flower first and Azure Moon last. It was so sad to see what Edelgard becomes on Dimitri's route--especially since I knew how much change and growth she makes when she has Byleth by her side.
Same experience here... I am quite sad to hear her say that even in that form...

Same, I admired her strength to fight for the future she wanted. I even admired monster Edelgard, because I loved the fact that she was willing to go that far to achieve her goals. Killing her feels like, I just squashing the dreams of the hardest working person (like having to kill a Elon Musk, or Mark Zuckerberg) in the world. Honestly, it feels a bit personal to me, since it's a reminder that no matter no matter how hard you work, there is a chance that you can still fail.
On my first playthrough in the blue Lion route

I didn't understand why he became crazy and became normal after I try to comfort him after Roderick dies
Played Verdant wind first, loved talking to Dimi and edel, then the flame emperor shit. I felt so betrayed and still do, even after siding with her. Like her if you want, but to me, she is no better than the monster she claimed Rhea was. Both stuck in a past and force change, and using people to make it happen.

Azure Moon / Blue Lions. Only happens then. In Silver Snow and Verdant Wind you fight her like normal since she isn't the final boss.
So why do people choose routes other than CF
Since i always recruitet everyone, i never saw how terrible the writing in this game is. I mwna i knew it was terrible, but i didnt know it was this bad.

1:24 Gotta say, that battle between Petra and the Professor was almost cinematic, both of them weaving between blows before Byleth unfortunately strikes her down.
We were robbed of a Dorothea/Ferdinand convo, there is one at the Bridge of Myrddin if you only recruit Dorothea, so why none here??

@@henryweinschel1357 axe dimitri is really good solely because of the fact that wyvern lord exists. Extra mobility, extra attack growths, canto, and death blow from brigand
@@coolguy23 unless you use new game plus, it’s not really worth the time it takes to teach him all the flying and axe he needs. Dimitris strength growth is stupid, so any physical class works. Paladin is much easier to certify for, and has nice movement too. But I will try wyvern lord dimitri.
@@henryweinschel1357 yeah training axe is kind of a pain, but flying is pretty easy to work around. The extra utility of cavaliers is nice, but fliers do everything cavaliers do and more. With the 'new'dismoutning feature of mounted classes, you can also avoid extra bow damage. Not to mention that cavaliers are disappointingly slow. If you're playing maddening, I highly recommend wyvern dimitri, but if ur playing hard, just do what you think is fun

Mistranslation. In the JP dialogue, he is actually expressing that he respects the choice Edelgard made. Treehouse has it out for Edelgard.

@@joegreen3802 All Caeda? No. But... She recruits A LOT of people and/or is why some people are around. Ogma, Cord, Bord, Barst, Castor, Navarre, Jake, and Roger are around because of her off the top of my head. Warriors even mentions how she recruits a lot of people.

Honestly for me, that battle before the final battle was the hardest. The final battle I just ignored everyone I could and went straight up to the final boss

Yep. Just did it. It HURT. I was thinking of sparing them all but I think it's far more emotional to dispatch them over the course of the story. I did recruit Dorothea and when I killed Ferdinand on an earlier map... oof, my heart when she talks about at the monastery after :(

Such a dramatic and sad moment but Byleth’s professor crit line made me laugh. What a terrible thing to say to your past student just as you’re about to kill them

That is what I try to do in every run I do. Even if I am never going to use them, I recruit them... I simply cannot kill the students that I loved. Call me soft, I stand by my words.

Whats the route im which you can recruit most characters? Or kill the least characters?
@@hoohag5371 you can recruit the most characters in Azure Moon: everyone except Edelgard, Hubert, and Claude.
However the fewest characters die in Azure Moon OR Crinson Flower, as depending on how you play, only certain unrectuitable characters actually are required to die in the story, 3 each for Azure Moon and Crimson Flower. Required deaths:
Azure Moon: Edelgard, Hubert, Jeritza
Crimson Flower: Dimitri, Dedue, Rhea
Verdant Wind: Edelgard, Hubert, Jeritza, Dimitri. Rhea is implied to die afterwards.
Silver Snow: Edelgard, Hubert, Jeritza, Dimitri, Gilbert. Rhea dies unless you S-Support her.
On Crimson Flower, you can spare Claude if you beat him with Edelgard or Byleth, and spare Seteth and Flayn if you beat them with Byleth. Claude also states that his classmates should join you, but the only one who can is if you beat Lysithea with Byleth or Edelgard.
Outside of the above, everyone must be recruited to be spared, though some can be outright avoided in battle.

Kind of strange that Dorothea doesn't have any unique dialogue for Ferdinand. Seeing as they had some if you recruited Dorothea and used her to fight Ferdinand on the Great Bridge of Merdin, they could have had something here, as well.

They had that meeting before where dimitri and byleth met with Edel and Hubert.
Its oretty well explained there that edelgard won’t stop her ideals for her conquest no matter what. And the only way to stop her and this war was to end her (and even in the ending she basically showed this with the dagger toss that stabbed dimitri forcing him to kill her despite letting out a helping hand).

Golden Deer is really the route that answers all the questions so maybe it was in there somewhere and I just dont remember. Definitely doesnt get explained on edelgard route or church route tho.
Sedoardo Golden the empire is notorious for using crest stones to turn people into demonic beasts. Combine that with the power of the crest of flames and hypothetically it makes sense how she was able to assume that form
Regarding fighting Petra, in Azure Moon, she very is straight to the point. While in Verdant Wind, Petra sort of says the same thing but with more detail explaining her motives....

1st playthrough was blue Lions. Recruited Dorothea and ignored Petra in this fight. Didn't want to kill another student if I didn't have to...
this is why Black eagles is the most non-sensical route there is even their own house members have no clue on what Eldelgard`s 200IQ play is all about except of course for the Edelgard simp hubert. almost all of Black eagle students have no reason to fight for Eldelgard's cause.
Ferdinand`s house is in shambles because of her
Petra is basically a hostage to keep Brigid on a leash, so unless she suddenly become BFF with Edelgard over the past 5 years I doubt her saying she must protect Edelgard means what it actually is.
Dorothea absolutely despises fighting so it wouldn't make sense for her to fight for Eldelgard's cause especially to the fact the she started the damn war in the first place. the only reason I see to why she was in the capital to begin with is to keep her opera house safe.
and Bernadetta and Linhard are basically shut in and would rather mind their own business than to fight

I think they only did this for laughs. I play to each character’s strengths. For example, grappler dedue and assassin felix
@@loucar10 interesting, I made dedue a great knight for the armour and movement, although my first playthrough I did make Felix an assassin but he also does well as a mortal savant
@@zippacna I don’t really like the heavy armour units. Plus dedue gets access to one two punch. With that he can one shot most units
I like how the Manuela/Dorothea dialogue is so much of a bummer we're all glossing over friggin *Wyvern Manuela*

Petra is a hard one to kill, she has maxed speed. I basically got lucky with Dimitri in order to kill her. No one else could basically touch her

If you kill the death knight as Mercedes then there will be a unique game scene unlocked.
I killed the Death kight with Mercedes in Golden Deer, only pre-battle Convo nothing else
Its triggered by having completed her paralogue with caspar, no other conditions.
Pretty sure that actually only happens if you complete her paralouge and it only happens in Azure Moon if I recall
I felt so bad when I killed him with Mercedes by accident (she critted on a 4% chance)

I recruited everyone in black eagle class out of spite for edelgard in my second run (AM, first one was VW) and I'm glad i didn't need to suffer for killing petra and ferdie

I know what route you are doing but I always thought if you had a C rank or lower during Silver Snow the Black Eagles stay with her majesty. It would have been incredibly more powerful emotionally. Also I just despise anyone turning against the glory of the Empire and it's bright new future!
Too bad Edelguard went about it in the most idiotic way possible and got herself killed and shunned by former friends

Edelgard isnt fighting for glory. If she says that, then it's because of nationality and to boost morale among troops.
