Lovely display. 5:23 I found the name for my yellow NOID phal now so thank you. Had to laugh when I saw your phal table 'fenced off' reminded me of when my kids were small. Maisie has grown so much, such a cutie all smiles.
Owww...to me they are gorgeous for sure 💕 cuz I o sooo love those phal colors 🤩 . Mine are mostly pinkish and now saving $ for the orange one 😍 .TFS ..and happy happy growing .Warm hugs from South America 🤗🤗🤗 .
That is one of the remarkable thing about orchids... they also thrive on neglect and still reward us with blooms. I am not able to run supplemental light as much this winter, so, I am not expecting as great a bloom count as I had last year, but... blooms are blooms and even if we could do better, sometimes our priorities change.... and yet .. blooms! Beautiful Orchi Dee 🤩🤩 best of both worlds... beautuful baby and blooms to boot!! Have yourself a lovely week ahead ❤ much love ❤🌸
Right back at you Nina, hope you have a wonderful week! Orchids I find quite intuitive.. if they’ve had a bad year they just don’t try as hard. Save their energy for another year.
My Liu’s Berry looks just like your Bella Donna. And you had a very life changing year …moving house and welcoming your baby girl….so you had priorities in the right order. I am confident that you will have your routines down pat in order to share/care for your family and orchids. Most importantly take care of yourself ❤️
I think your phals still look absolutely fabulous. Might be not be up to their usual performance, but I think you have a pretty darn cute excuse for neglecting them ;). Btw, I'm absolutely in love with the design of your catasetum shelves! I have only one young catasetum (fredclarkeara after dark) and this is going to be its first winter (I am in Germany). I hope I'll be doing everything right.
I haven’t had much luck with smaller catasetums. They definitely aren’t my strong suit … I’ve found letting go of the ‘rules’ (eg when to water, when you stop ) has helped.
Very interesting Dee. I see you use the PET method for your catasetinae. I had some success but this year going back to coco/peat mix in small pots. So far much better growth. Luckily np possums near me here on the Sunny coast.
Hi Dee isn't it amazing how orchids still thrive on a little neglect. : ) It's good to see you on. Have a great day keep safe and happy growing : ) Reah
What a lovely video! I think your Phals are looking great…I’d be happy if mine were even flowering! Maisie is so gorgeous…she was trying to talk to you. Looking forward to seeing lots more videos especially seeing how the Phals go in the shade house. Cheers Dee.
Hopefully they will take the light in the safe house. I made a mistake early this year… thought Phals would do ok but I didn’t put the shading net early enough. I burnt them… they are alive still but leaves are looking sad.
Yes, as summer approaches the sun will definitely get quite harsh, so I'm keeping a close eye..... A little worried about the smaller seedlings out there.. but at the same time, it's really survival of the fittest for my orchids at the moment!!
Lovely display.

Babies are so worth it though. And I’m glad your orchids will bounce back.
Nice to see your blooms AND your beautiful Maisie - what a doll! Take good care!

I think the lesson here is you should have invited your mum over more often to watch the baby while you played with the orchids. 😉
