    WOW! This is one of your best videos yet! The fact that a pack can stuff into a little pouch is amazing! Also the fact that a kit that can not only a fire but can also catch food is all in one little paracord bracelet and I find that awesome. Definitely going to buy this pack

    Awesome daypack to toss in my backpack. Excellent find Ben!

    Great products. The shoulder straps actually looked comfortable on the pack. I have made numerous mini fishing kits and I believe the Friendly Swede did a fine job with the bracelet kit. The problem with bigger floats, hooks, and line is that you need a bigger container to package them in. Not easy to do with a para-bracelet. Great examples of how to use these products.

    Great video Ben really enjoyed it glad you tested out all the gear reminds me of your very first vids when you used to camp out and test the cooking gear and stoves. Should call you Huckleberry Ben with your wooden pole catching the fishies.

      Johnny Nashe haha, yeah some items like flashlights and folding knives are hard to make into interesting videos, but stoves, packs, and kits I can have fun with. thanks for checking it out.

    I got a pack like that from Aldi. It really is a cool idea. I certainly wouldn't use it as a stand alone pack, but as a secondary and/or back up, its a good option.

    Great job actually catching a fish with it, you should add that in the title! For the mini ferro rod I find it helps if you keep a small piece of paracord ring-looped through it and just hold the paracord ring giving you more striking area, but hey what you did worked so who am I to try and teach, great review.

    That collapsible pack seems much better than the Outdoor Products one I have and much bigger! Looks like their pack collapsed down could fit perfectly in a cargo pocket. Also nice catch looks like the fishing kit part of it works along with the ferro rod and striker.

    Good video. I've had a lot of luck starting fires with small ferro rods and even big ferro rods, by taking some tinder and laying it right on the rod and then place the striker right on top of the tinder, and striker it HARD. All the heat and friction is 100% concentrated in and on the tinder the whole time during the strike, and not just whatever flies off in the tinder's general direction using the normal method, and it's MUCH easier to start a fire that way. I've even got cheap thin duct tape to start on fire using this technique, sticky side UP of course. haha

    You might try putting a paracord loop through one hole and around small finger, use your thumb and put pressure on end of rod, then you have the fill rod and a little more control of it..

    great video ben, mabey if the friendly swede could incorporate some sort of handle for the ferro rod inside the bracelet, they could use the two holes as a support. how long did it take you to get that fire going?

    • @livingsurvival
      @livingsurvival  9 лет назад

      cianob took about 2 minutes. Just had to adjust the tinder a few times.

    What kind of fish was it? Did you eat it?
    I would change the fishing line for a braided one, stronger and does not get curled up like that.

    it would be easer to start a fire still in the bracelet form

    • @livingsurvival
      @livingsurvival  9 лет назад

      Liz Burnell-Latham True, but once you take it apart (to catch food to cook) it is no longer in bracelet form. As someone else said I could have strung some cordage back through the rod and the striker...should have thought of that! Thanks for the comment, hope you had a nice weekend.

    Holy liability intro. Afraid of getting sued much? It's nice that you had your fold up dock in your back pocket to aid with the fishing!
