    I can't believe you basically just advocated to not spay or neuter pet (non breeding) dogs.

    • @girlwiththedogs212
      @girlwiththedogs212  3 месяца назад +3924

      Alright so let's talk about it. I absolutely DO advocate for spaying and neutering ALL dogs and cats, but I also advocate for not spaying or neutering TOO EARLY. New studies have shown that pets need their hormones until they are fully developed, in order to prevent hip/joint/skeletal issues. My female is not spayed because she is still young, she will be spayed when she's 2. This is especially important in large breed dogs like Shepherds, that are prone to hip dysplasia.

      That is so horrible. Most dogs, unless accustomed to it, will growl or bark at a uniformed person. They need to be properly introduced with appropriate corrections when training. That was a rather extreme reaction from your Dad, unless there were additional problem behaviors. Sirry for your loss. You missed out on a great buddy.

      I never trained Major to do commands. I was a little girl. He taught himself. He knew all the basis commands. He also knew how open the frig get food when no one was around. He was supposed to be a family watch dog, but I became his favorite person. He was always by my side, even slept in my bedroom at night when I was a little girl which my mom wasn't too happy about, but she grew to just accept how close we were. When he died, I was heartbroken and very depressed for many months.

    The owner of 2 cocker spaniels here, lots of experience with irritated skin. When skin gets irritated long term, the yeast infection tends to settle on the irritated skin. The yeast infection causes the smell and makes skin itchy. Frequent bathing with anti-fungal shampoo will bring relief, but the root cause is usually some kind of allergy. Most often food. Sometimes simply switching to different food helps. Many dogs are allergic to chicken, beef, grain - most common ingredients. Simply switching to grain free lamb based food helped my dogs a lot.

      the safest thing to clean with is baking soda..ppl did that for years..the chemical cleaners didnt show up until the late 50's..
      can brush their teeth with baking soda to freshen breath.. dust carpet vacum..fleas dont like it.. can use it to fresh animal coats sprinkle it and spread it around. like dry shampoo for them..our pekinese had hotspots from sand fleas.. we put garlic capsules in her food.. after about a month all that stuff went away her hair grew back she was going bald from all of it..
      the stuff from vets didnt work neither did pet stuff .. the garlic got rid of the fleas.. they can get ring worm from scratching.

    I started clipping my dog’s claws like you do where they’re still standing and just bring the paw back and the job only takes minutes instead of an hour of my dog screaming in my face, trying to hold her still, and calming her back down after each nail clip which would result in her hiding and pouting for the rest of the weekend. Plus I can see the quick so much easier. Just trimmed my new cat’s claws the same and it was so easy and non-traumatizing 🧡

    FYI... Unknown dog allergy alert! I bought a cheap wool rug on a home goods site, it shipped directly from China, it also had a weird chemical odor. After 10 days or so my dog became itchy, my cat started throwing up all the time. My dog developed all the "unknown allergy" symptoms. After 9 months or so, and hundreds of dollars in vet charges to treat these unknown allergies my pets developed my cat ended up dying... on the rug. So I threw the rug out. After a couple weeks all my dogs allergies miraculously disappeared!
    Whatever the factory is spraying on this cheap rug in order to kill insects before shipping killed my cat and almost killed my dog.
    This Shepards owner should see if they have any cheap imported home goods in their house.
