That is a very intelligent dog. You can tell his training was thorough. He kept wanting to sniff your face and watch every move you made. Learning and reassuring himself that you were not panicking so he shouldn't either. Good job on the owners/breeders.
I thought the exact same thing. He’s looking to Vanessa to gauge how he should react. And he wanted reassurance that he was doing well. Such a sweet boy.
@@AccidentallyOnPurposehe looked worried when she said the water coming off of you is black. It's like he was thinking are you taking off my beautiful black.
Fred is such a handsome and well behaved dog. Dogs like Fred are a key example of what happens when you properly train and desensitize your dog, they become confident and able to handle new situations like a champ. Way to go Fred!
Yesss, absolutely! Ideally the breeder already starts desensitizing the puppies. I used to have a Bernese mountain dog breeder in my neighborhood. And whenever they had puppies they'd turn their back yard into "puppy school"- with balloons, flags, mirrors, foil, seesaws etc.
Love how Fred looks on curiously and with perked ears and when he gets in doubt you can just see him looking at you for guidance and then just accepting it as OK since you seem to be OK. Such a great dog with a superb personality.
Fred had a perpetually confused expression, looking at you as if waiting for you to explain to him why you were doing the incomprehensible things you were doing to him. He's such a sweet dog, doing way better than many dogs who have been getting groomed regularly!
😂😂😂😂 I thought I was the only one who was doing the voice-over. Fred: "I'm allowing all this but dear lady, could you please tell me what you're doing this for and why!?"
Wow, you can really tell how well Freddie is trained by the way he keeps looking at Vanessa's face throughout the new or uncomfy parts of the groom. He's learned to trust his handler on how to navigate new situations, take cues from them and to "think first, act second". Major kudos!
He has a look like " Excuse me, Miss, may I ask what's going on? Also, please don't hurt yourself with those... items." Confused, but more worried about her than himself.
He is such a handsome dog! Good boy, Fred! When Vanessa asked him if he’d like a treat, my dog came over and nudged my hand like, “Why, yes! I’d love a treat!” So, she got one😊
We have a 125LB version of Fred (black too). He absolutely adores bath time, leaning into whomever is cleaning him. We do them ourselves because we love our dogs and are still able to groom them. We brush every couple of days so they stay familiar with grooming. If you have the energy to at least play with them or do daily walks, GSD are just the best. You can tell by his looks he's very intelligent. So calm too. Congrats to his owners for the training.
Lol, I have a 45pound version of Fred but she doesn't particularly like water. She's only 42% german-shepherd, the rest is 42% Canadian Inuit dog and 14% supermutt. But the black German shepherd genes are strong in her appearance. My theory as to why she's not crazy about water is the Inuit dog genes and the fact that she's from cold Nunavut so water could be dangerous there... hoped she'd like swimming like our previous german-shepherd sledding dog (Malamute) mix but what she lacks in swimming she makes up for with her love of being in boats!
I love it when fur babies show the calm confidence of Fred. You can tell his owners have really taken the time to work with him to make him this confident. It’s wonderful to see that such great care has been taken. Kudos to them an to Fred of course, for being a great shepherd ambassador.

Good boy Fred! My dog was 8 before he had a professional groom. He LOVED the dryer! The groomer even used the blow dryer to distract him while he cut his nails. 😊
My GSD LOVED bathes. He liked the water and loved the attention. He would take a bath every day if I let him. He would jump in the tub and cry for it to be filled.
Absolutely love the typical German Shepherd "What did I do to deserve THIS!?"-look in his eyes 😍😍😍 And that he kept trying to sneek in kisses while you groomed him 😍😍😍
Fred is a highly intelligent, adorable, cuddly, well behaved pup. He looked like he wanted to give kisses during his grooming process. Daddy and daughter looked so sweet together.
Like father, like daughter. Both gorgeous pups! (And cranky Eris, too!) Fred was remarkably well behaved for having never been professionally groomed before. He looked more bewildered and resigned than anything. LOL! Maybe Dad can pass along some of that tranquility to his daughter before Lupa's next grooming appointment. ♥
The solid black is to me the most beautiful color of the German Shepherd. I had a Black GS for 12 years until the Angels came and took him. His name was Shadow and his bloodline was descended from Rin Tin Tin II
I had two black German Shepherds the male passed away two years ago and the female is still very young and looks exactly like this one in the video. They truly are amazing animals so smart and protective of their families. I will definitely be getting another one in future.
