Oh man! I met Imtiaz Ali ji in Hindu College on 9th October 2023. You are such a nice person. We met accidently twice on that day. First you were coming out of lift and I was going into that. I said hello to you and you looked towards me and nodded back. Again while coming out of lawns I saw you and waved my hands and nodded to you. Just as a normal acquitance. Then you waved back and nodded. Everyone of my friend was surprised. I wanted to come back to you to take an autograph and a photograph. Though I would not do that. I want to meet you and talk with you about your art your movies. It would be better to work with you. I am not going to be just a fan boy who want to take a glimpse and an autograph. Thanks for your gesture. Never thought a person of such a stature will greet me in such a normal humble way. It was like I am seeing a person whom I meet daily. We nod to each other and just say hello and acknowledge each other.

Listening to Imtiaz Ali sir is like listening to an old stoic mystic. Every word he speaks is like a distant chimes of a clock tower - putting you to sleep and waking you up at the same time. How I wish to meet him some day!

This is the first newsroom episode I’ve watched till the end. A movie under Imtiaz Ali’s direction/writing ought to be a masterpiece. A very fine director❤
I am very ordinary woman and a regular citizen of India. I am no different than a regular person who watches the movies or shows with no personal connection with bollywood or show business but with Imtiaz I feel a soul connection as a human... If I get to meet all big stars and Imtiaz at the same time. I would want to meet Imtiaz Ali and may be won't talk.

What a guy! Me and my friend met him once when he was shooting Rockstar in HP and had an opportunity to have a conversation with him while we were waiting to meet Ranbir! We felt like he spoke to us like we were his apne, very grounded person! Who knew after a decade I was going to be his fan more than any of his actors!

My most favorite movie is jab we met. Watched it more then 50 times. Absolutely fantastic. My most favorite and genius journalist is interviewing my most favorite film maker. Imtiyaz bhai. Saurav bhai you are the best of the best
Tamasha deserved a mention too. I was waiting for it so dearly. Nevertheless, it was a good two and a half hour. There was no methodical answer which he tried to give. He spoke what just came out of him.
And Saurav Dwivedi.... he is gaining reputation for his mesmerising oratory skills, which is so good to see. So much to learn from him❤
This felt like a botany class, where you get to dissect a leaf and see the internal intricacies. Thank you Lallantop ❤

For me his best film is Tamasha.. Every time i started crying in its last story telling scene.. "Yeh hero mera favourite hai" Tamasha hum sab ki kahaani hai...
Amazing interview.
But, only thing that was missing was mention of Ranbir and Irshad kamil in much detail.
I mean if not for Ranbir’s brilliance the character of Jordan would have been labelled as toxic (because it was such a layered character). It was Ranbir’s magic that injected a spiritual element into the character of Jordan and to large extent Ved.

Agreed with you. Without Ranbir, Rockstar n Tamasha would be ordinary movie. His acting in kun faya kun, Aur ho, Sadda haq, Agar tum sath ho etc
Correctly said. Those movies are great but he adds something very special in them. They won't be same if those characters were played by a diffrent actor.

Tamasha great movie,for me it’s “ Highway” ..saw it more then 20 times and took the same road trough India.

Genuine bandaa hai…not pretending at all..unlike that “struggling” actor, Anuraag Kashyap.
What can I say about this man, imtiaz, I feel myself too short to coment but will definitely say that this man added a lot in my life, I watched the Rockstar in cinema and the day before watching and after watching was completely different..that day magic was happened and it's still continues. All the songs are my favourite and make gose bump all time.
Then he made tamasha at time of tamasha I couldn't swallowed bcs I was not able to understand but later I saw again then I cried and said yes yes ..this is what he was trying to say ..and still I think a lot is in that to feel....you are born for us man ..a god for cinemas making ..just keep doing
Kya cute Aadmi hai yaar jhooth nahi bol paata..honest interview , the way he appreciates the good qualities in others is commendable . He wanted to cut the actress age part shows he dont want to upset any body .. other than being a great filmmaker he seems like a good human being

Dear Lallantop, Please let Imtiaz know this if possible: When Harry Met Sejal is one of the most misunderstood films of our times. I too had felt it was quite underwhelming when I first saw it. But now that I am older and have lived a bit like Harry, I found the film more relevant and beautiful. We will never understand that film if we don't have that feeling of loss that comes from staying away from family, and roots for a long time.
Maine bahut se introductions dekhe h pr Surabh ji jaisa introduction dete kisi ko nhi dekha bilkul kisi sahityakar ki trh aur with respect to great shahityakars kabhi kabhi lgta h ye(saurabh ji) to unse bhi ati sundar dete h,.... Yeh unke gyan aur bhasha shaili ka vah swaroop h jiskoi kisi paridhi mein nhi bandha ja sakta..... I respect him alot.
Saurabh Ji kaise kar lete ho aap.. Every Monologue by Saurabh is Mesmerizing and Flaw Less and creates Goosebumps... every GINR episode's highest point is always Saurabh Ji.. Rest is extra Sukhi Papri ...

One of the best interview covered in Lallantop. Imtiyaz Ali is a very underated person. Imtiaz Ali's perceptions are great, ideally not many of us have it. He will surely go places and miles to cover.

Views pump karne ke liye kya kya na kiya lallantop ne. First key word of thumbnail after guest's name is 'Shahrukh' for views. But only last 2-2.5 mins of the video is Imtiaz talking about Shahrukh out of 143-144 mins of overall video. King size box ke andar needle size ka product. That's marketing

Jab Harry met Sejal did translate for me. I loved it and I have watched it thrice. First time, I didn't like it. Post that I love the film. It has its own flaws but I think I reached where makers wanted the audience to reach. Thank you for that film.

Rockstar ka music album, mere liye 2010-2020 ke decade ka sabse best album hai. Pata nahi Rockstar ke baad musicians ko kya ho gaya wo magic phir se create hi nahi paye. Rockstar ke music ko is tarah define kar sakte hai, jaise movie me sadda haq gaane me Jordan ki kuch panktiya hai, "yaha barso pehle ek ghana jungle hua karta tha ab ek saaf suthra shahar ban gaya, jab se ye jungle kata uske baad ek parindo ka jhund Chala gaya phir kabhi nahi lauta". Rockstar ka music bhi mere liye un parindo ki jhund ki tarah hai jo phir kabhi nahi lauta, pata nahi Rahman Sahab ko bhi kya hua hai koi music nahi bana paye rockstar ke baad. Dr Irshad Kaamil jaise lyrics writer ka bhi sahi se istemaal nahi ho raha hai. Imtiaz bhai ne Rahman sahab aur dr irshad kamil ko full potential pe use kiya tha Rockstar me. Pata nahi wo ye magic kaise kar paye. Mere hisaab se Rockstar ke music ko as a lecture rakhna chahiye aspiring music directors ke liye. I was hosting some award event in Delhi. It was a typical event with Mostly Dignatories from bureaucracy there. I had just quit radio and had once interviewed him prior to this event. We had a long chat at that event. Didn’t even feel he is a Big Guy from Bollywood. Such a simple down to earth approach and such a magnificent personality.
I can consider myself very lucky and wonderful today by remembering the moment when I met Imtiaz Sir after watching this interview. ❤

Two best movies of Sir Imtiyaz Ali Rockstar and Tamasha
Sir the quality of questions takes the guest and in turn the viewer through a journey. The initiative is hopefully serving its purpose of making youth aware about various careers.
But sir I think the issue arises when these goals are really unreachable to many in today's world. A career is only viable as far as the means are approachable. There should be awareness about the risks. I am just sharing my views.

Listning Intiyaz was soulful, but during whole session the "Real Imtiyaz" holded himself. I feel what we felt from his movies were not decoded. He is the "Man".
