You would have to modify and change the factory wiring to get it to work like you want. Or you can simply install the switch and leave them turned on all the time. If you do that they will automatically come on when your headlights are on.
Disconnecting the battery is always a good thing. As far as the modification you have planned I have no idea. We have never tried what you are planning.
What other equipment do I need if I were to still install the kit on a LX by splicing through the parking lights. Also, would I need to disconnect the battery if I were to do that? Thanks in advance!

I'm sure there are some aftermarket kits available for the LX. The problem with the OEM kit is the LX does not have a compatible engine wiring harness.

+Angel Benitez There is always a way to work around these kinds of issues. We personally however have not installed the kit on a LX so we can't provide any details.

We don't have any experience with fog light kits other than Honda so I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending anything. Maybe someone else here can chime in on a good aftermarket alternative.

You just need to look up a manual, get the car up on front jacks, and have a few handy tools for the job if you want to do it yourself (and save around $200)

The 2008 kit is different. But yes there is a Honda kit available for your vehicle.

You would have to swap out headlight assemblies and maybe change some wiring.
