Learn how to make a cheap and easy interactive DIY holographic display! This device uses a fan and a smoke machine to create a screen of fog. A projector can then be uses to project images onto the screen. A hand tracking tool called leap motion can also be used to input hand gestures and create an interactive hologram display! Best of all this device can be made for very cheap

The simplicity of this... is ridiculous! The fact that this could actually be what they use in Star Wars. This also makes me think that I can use this in my own DIY videos without CGI! I'm on a budget here, guys.
i have no idea what made you think that? Star Wars holograms are volumetric. They're 3D. That's ignoring the lack of a smoke screen system.
Hologram in gás orgonio.
I'm actually researching for a sci-fi story idea
I'm very impressed by how much you've stepped up your editing game over your past few videos!
Here's something you might want to try put a rheostat on the fan and slow the fan down see if you can get a more even smoke screen coming out of the top you should be able to see better and your images should not be as blurry hope to see a video from that soon have a blessed day and thank you
I can barely make an origami boat and you're making holograms. Life is unfair
I can barely make a paper airplane and McLean is making spiderman moving eyes that work on some like pumps
Yes it is!

@@Xepthys01 did you even use it or build it
This video makes you look all the more like Mysterio.
Instead of using all those pieces of coroplast, use only one piece. That makes it a thinner screen, sharper image.
The biggest problem with making a real holoprojector like what we see in science fiction is having something for the projector to project upon. Right now you need to have some sort of particulate matter in the air like smoke or fine dust and that has limitations. I think the real breakthrough will come when somebody figures out how to make the projection react with air molecules themselves, even if the wind is blowing. That's gotta be the key and it's the only way I can imagine the kind of 3D image we've all been seeing since Star Wars being created
answer : Tony Stark :D
Japanese scientists have been working on this since 2078

When you think about it if you had a video of the same image playing on multiple projectors displaying the same image but at different angles into the same point with a fog or something non toxic as a image base then it will be more advanced than star wars.

What about a really slow version of this.. let the fog pool and pour down in thin wide veil.. all the movement is too much input. Great idea and really valuable to see it work. Thx!
What if movie theaters have holograms how cool would that be?
Thats the most epic thing i've ever seen
Great video except the music was kind of annoying.
I was thinking the same exact thing.....

Let me talk to you about the avenger initiative of earth 1218
Avenger Initiative? LoL It is to finally listen to me instead of relying on their sub-par intellect. Assumptions project reality. Like attracts like. Thanos is no accident. Don't worry, I told Dr. Strange how to fix everything after he realized that I was actually the one that taught him how to defeat Dormammu. Thanos is just a better Avenger. he is a mirror image of what they do and want and yet the Avengers cannot see through the Smoky mirror. If all seek Peace and he can establish it, would it not have looked different had they come to that realization instead of refusing to acknowledge the Endgame truth...
@@davidtabaka2663 Did you even grammar check your comment once?

Don't worry it's rhetorical.
Unless you're suggesting that grammar is infallible you are wasting your time...
Ok
1218 is a long time ago...
Would a duplicate system upside down and above work to keep the air and smoke in a better line? And stop the smoke building up. Could also condense the vapour and feedback to the tank...
My exact thought! Came to the comments to see if anyone else thought of this. The smoke diffuses quickly without an upper intake, you could get much more consistent flow and get rid of the excess smoke in the process.
This video is so helpful for me thank you so much 🙂❤️
🎁thanks for watching and commenting send a direct message on telegram right away 👆
How about mounting the fog machine and diffuser up high and point the fog down? Might come out smoother and no need for a fan. Very cool, though.
This guy is a real life Tony Stark he makes projects without a lot of resources. He is just amazing
_I'll never forget “Iron Man” i fell in love with the scene where Tony made that makeshift iron man suit to escape terrorist kept him captive forcing him to build what they thought would be a weapon for them to utilize_ 🔥

@@luciferproductions4871 _Idk I'm not very appealing, some say I talk too much. But I'll sub to your channel though you seem like a genuine individual. ✊_
That's putting a lot of praise for something like this.
You should attach an air sucker (aspirator) 1 meter above it so no extra smoke will distort the effect. And maybe build a system that condenses the glycerin and water and outputs normal air.
Yea can you imagine with the vacuum flow it could create impossible visuals. I figured you also could use some flexible mirrors to reflect on larger platforms. Robotic colidioscope topside with smoke fall from top lighting circle vacuum Suckers at the bottom. Surrounding audiencess
The money he’s spends and the things that he does for us…… thank you, I’ve wanted to be an inventor for my whole life, and your videos resparked my passion.
yo Mr.laser i am a fellow inventor working on the same idea and what ive seen to have work for me better for the smokes laminar flow i used the finest scotch brite/ or steel wool and it A. slows down the fog making a thicker output for a better display and B it stops shaking as much also improving the quality (duh).
I think you need more fog, and less air flow. That fan is blowing too fast, and your fog is disapating way too much.
Solution:(Warning this may be a Secret from Disney)
Use multiple projectors (at least two, one regular from the front and one mirrored from the rear; this helps both brightness and resolution.)
Yours truly,
-Not a Disney Fungineer.
Believe me dude.....One day you're talent will go so viral....I believe that.
Man many idiots are in comments but I really appreciate you tried to make hologram 🤘❤️
Try less wind force so you have more smoke so the image get Sharper?
DIY Hologram kit: $20; Smoke Machine: $100+; WII Game Console: Priceless! Total cost for project: $1b . Yeah, it’s cheap…
This turned out really cool!
Why not have that smoke screen push between two non-reflective glass sheets?
Edit: I just don’t understand why you would stick your hand through it making it difficult to see. As long as he would have the hand tracker in a viable area it should still be cool enough.
i thought of that, but then you wouldnt be able to stick ur hand through and wont b as cool
The point would be moot then. The hologram is designed to be intangible.
Because you wouldn't be able to touch it
i would want to walk through it or something too as a cool entrance
Idiot
Make your own version of a iron man mask, I made one and it is out of a paintball mask, and it has eye and mouth lights, voice changer, extra lights, and headphones that you can plug a phone up into and talk through your mask, I know you made one a long Time ago but you can make a easier cheaper diy one
JJ v97 oh yeah yeah
Holy Star Wars! This looked amazing!!
Bro you and your vids are sincerely awesome, but please man maybe try different music choices.. I still subbed though I've never seen anything like your channel this is cool stuff fr
That is pretty cool. I think if you make a better flow module for the smoke it would look clearer but cost more. But I’m definitely trying it
definitely need to see improvements with this, cuz this is a great start!
You could another fan at top facing down, with more air, the resolution should be better
Maybe try having another fan pulling the smoke up keeping the smoke straight and in a semi controlled stream
This was badass this is the closest thing I've seen to a real hologram the point was the image isn't on something solid or in something solid
the same song is being used throughout the whole video and it's so annoying,
great job though
amazing job!
Amazing build
For me, you are a genius man.
The most impressive thing of all his videos is that HE DOES ALL THIS COOL STUFF IN HIS GARAGE!!!
Kinda like Rick.
@@Bulderme I'm very impressed by how much you've stepped up your editing game over your past few videos!
I wonder if a different configuration, like a thicker screen, would result in a higher resolution
I'mma build it and get back to you
Thanks for doing this. I have always wanted to try this.
I just want hatsune miku in my room...
If you turn the fan down some the res might have been higher or less hole
Nice video effects👍👍👍
SO for a Generation 2 version, would the air be even more laminar if you used a fan like the Dyson one?
Impressive. Well done.
This is not a hologram; it's crappy scrim. Holography is possible, if you know what you are doing. Look up optoclones, rabbit holes, Zebra Holographics, Anna Maria Nicholson, Jason Sapan, or Larry Lieberman.
That would be satisfying if you use foam cutter :)
That video was fan-tastic... oh yeah, I went the pun.

Use a clear fan blade instead of the smoke and it’ll be much more clearer and is much much more cheaper
5:14 the way he intensely looks at the camera making sure it gets some good shots
you should make a tutorial for your laser watch v2 because thats hard to make
Whaaah! One day i will have to challenge you at smash! My friends and i used to have literally group sessions of playing smash brothers at my house with food. Awesome you play that!👍👍

One thing I don't get, is, he seems so amazed and excited to have succeeded in creating a hologram, but yet, the hologram is only as big as his phone. It's not even that big at all. I'm trying to figure out how to make big real holograms, not small ones.
Definitely slow down the fan.... reminds me of SeaQuest hologram....nice prototype
My man got real good eyesight to see those pixels
Been watching since your first diy Spider-Man web shooter and I’m so proud of you❤️ you truly inspire me
By the way...u can make real aesthetic videos...😍...anyway great job...
It would have been actually awesome, if you could get the laminar flow of air you talked about!
@JLaservideo I've got another idea which could make this work much better, but I don't have the resources to test. Would you reach me so that I could share with you and perhaps start something new? Let me put it this way... Fog shouldn't be outside...
Merge a life jacket and a parachute together and it should be fully functional and light in weight

**Seems Like A SOLID Name For A Movie/Game.**
Ever forward... good experiments... thanks mate.
7:52 What's the name of the song?????✨
MOUNT IT UPSIDE DOWN! The smoke naturally falls downward, so why are you trying to force it up with a fan? It looks as though the smoke machine blew the smoke through with enough forced to make a nice thick solid screen for a few inches, even working against gravity, i bet upside down it wouldn't dissipate till it was well beyond the boundary of your projection.

Yup looks cool but how about converting the smoke part to a very strong bong??
man i think you have a great hologram idea, i think im gonna try it, but i was thinking if you had a fixture over the top sucking in the fog in the same sorta way you are sending it up, you can get a way better distribution, moving much faster, getting you a smoother fog screen using les fog. I really like this idea man thanks for sharing.👍
I wonder if a humidifier would work
Me when I see the title: "Wait...interactive hologram?"
My mind: "SYMMETRA OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!"
Instead of a fog-screen,
try water mist/micro-droplets

Jake: Let's make a hologram
Jake: *Not 2 seconds later goes to home Depot.*
Me:WoW
Not a hologram, BUT, certainly no less cool as a vapor screen. There's an excellent example of one used in a Stargate Atlantis episode, in which dry ice was used to flow fog down to an air intake strip, on the floor, and a projector cast the video onto it. A very, very cool effect. An even more impressive medium is the water screen, which involves a water pipe with a flat piece of metal mounted on the end of the pipe, so a very fine, fan of spray comes out. You can project lasers, and video onto it. I think Disney, and some of the casinos in Vagas use these for outdoor free floating like displays. Thanks for sharing, and congrats on getting your vapor screen to work for the demo. :)

hello good afternoon I really liked your project, I with my students we are putting together a similar screen we were testing with dry ice worked very well but the image is not so good, I am now using ultrasonic transducers and generate that screen with water vapor will improve a lot the image, are you using kinet for the movements?
