  • Delve into the enigmatic realm of Messier 87, the celestial superstar that has captivated scientists for generations. In 2019, its mystique was elevated to cosmic stardom when the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) project unveiled its groundbreaking imagery. Yet, our auditory adventure today takes a different path, harnessing the data from other telescopic behemoths that beheld M87's grandeur on a sweeping canvas. This mesmerizing visual tableau unfurls in three mesmerizing panels, with Chandra's X-rays, NASA's Hubble's optical brilliance, and the Atacama Large Millimeter Array's radio waves each contributing their unique brushstrokes. The black hole's dominion reigns supreme on the left, a radiant beacon, while to the upper right, a cosmic jet emerges, born of the black hole's gravitational embrace. This cosmic sonification embarks on a journey across this triad of wavelengths, transforming their cosmic whispers into an audible symphony. Radio waves hum the lowest notes, optical data weaves a mellifluous midrange, and Chandra's X-rays crescendo to celestial high notes. As the sonification unfolds, it guides us to the crescendo, where astronomers unveiled the 6.5-billion solar mass black hole, immortalized by the EHT's lens.
