Really shows why it's good to have a backplate on your graphics card, even if it's only plastic, protects the small SMD parts from being knocked off.

I literally just had a kitten of mine knock an RX 6700 XT off of a shelf last week, it fell 2 meters onto my concrete floor.
No cooler attached, just backplate and bare PCB because I enjoy looking at the PCB.
The card is completely functional, no issues whatsoever. It fell from 6 feet ONTO CONCRETE. Directly onto concrete. Nothing damaged.
I genuinely don't even understand how people break GPUs anymore. It literally fell. From 6 FEET. ONTO CONCRETE. And it's perfectly fine, no issues whatsoever.
I'm still in disbelief that not even a pad underneath a memory chip or the GPU chip was damaged, but, it works fine with the cooler put on.

Thank you so much for talking while you work. This helps a ton to understand especially the 1080ti. Having 5 different ones also helps the overall flow. It helps us when you don't have the specific board view for this board because to see you figure out what is going on is sometimes hit or miss.

My guess it really was the mosfet all along and not the transistor.. The mosfet wasn't powering on so it was in protection pulling low/high another transistor inturn pulling the transistor you replaced low.. Removing the transistor was a great idea though.. I've used that technique in the past to get the rails up and running and in your case it basically led you straight to the problem imo. It's always a good idea to check all the phases to make sure they are working correctly especially on boards with knocked off components.. Anyways keep up the good work and God bless..

Btw if you find 4 or 8 lines of cap-resistor-coil combos, thats hdmi or DP or dvi.
btw #2 the chip IO floating voltage is never gone be 5v. It will fluctuate and wont stay high for enable. btw you can jumpwire at least.

for example when you soldered the chip on the first card, there was also 5 empty pads similar to the pads that you soldered the chip on, why didn't you solder another chip there ? (this question applies to caps and resistors also,)

I don’t recall having seen one of those come through on one of your videos. I am hoping that means they have better than average quality, or at least the funky little stand they have in the box (that I am using) with their cards helps enough to prevent the cracking issue. If anyone reading this has had any experience with the 4090 MSI Suprim could let me know if it’s a card to hang onto, or to sell before I have issues that would be awesome!
