Hello, I used combined meshes and i get only the schedule actor. my slider does not move, dates are changing and the animation plays on automatically, I have no control. The slider has no influence on animation. How do I fix it?
Please respond. it would be a great help
Sorry, please raise your tech support ticket to bentleysystems.service-now.com/csp?id=csp_index
Very interesting!
I didn't combine meshes and therefore didn't get animation actor. How can I now show times in widget which you accessed from animation actor? There has been mention of a function called "GetScheduleDateTimeFromActiveSequence". You can use that to get the times for your widget, and you only need the sequence actor, not the schedule actor. But unsure of which part of the video this should be applied and instead of what
If you are not using the combined mesh export, then you will get a level sequence in the 'Animations' folder and no schedule actor. The schedule actor is only necessary/created when using the combine meshes option during your export. If you want to proceed without the combined meshes option, you can drag and drop your level sequence asset into the viewport to create a level sequence actor, and manipulate that in blueprints. Be sure to read our blueprint API reference (developer.bentley.com/unreal/integration/blueprint-api-reference/) for static function you can use to get schedule timing data from the level sequence actor, not the schedule actor. Also read the animations section of the documentation (developer.bentley.com/unreal/integration/documentation/#animationsandschedulescripts) to learn more about which kinds of animations generate the 'Animations' and a level sequence asset that may need syncing. If your scene has no transform animations, then you may not get one because you don't need it.
Hey @4ddigitaltwin . Ive been seeing a ton of stuff about Digitial twins and Itwin as of late. I understand the purpose of having the models and asets on the cloud for the purpose of keeping models up to date based on the original design, but is there a similar solutions that doesnt require live updating that isnt on the cloud? For instance, I have a very large navisworks file/project form a client and we are just creating a simple animation. a flythrough or something to that effect. What Id like to do is animate it in unreal engine 5 and render it out there (or 3ds max) but the file is soo big I cant even get datasmith to import the whole thing. Ive taken to exporting layers individually. This has been super time consuming. I dont even have everything in yet and my resource usage is through the roof. Any suggestions I would greatly appreciate. Everything Ive looked up has kind of pointed back to using itwin but I dont know if I can justify yet another subscription to my bosses just for this one particular project.
This process has changed to github.com/iTwin/itwin-unreal-plugin
is it still possible to download that plugin? I can´t find it...
Unfortunately, the download link has disappeared. I can't download it either.
@@4ddigitaltwin I found the .exe but I can´t see the animated project inside the Itwin Exporter for Datasmith...
Hello , thanks for the video. i have a question.
so i have done a 4D model in Synchro 4D , so i now have to improt it to the itwin platform and then from itwin platform to ue5? or i can directly import the file from syncrho to ue5 ?
You can upload the .sp file to SYNCHRO Control. Then export it to UE5 via iTwin Export for Datasmith.
👍
Hey, guys
Very interesting proccess
Want to test export those models to Unreal but for now Datamsith exporter isnt exist
Do we have any other turnaround ways?
It appears that this feature is no longer supported.
@@4ddigitaltwin Is there reason why this datasmith was dropped. This seems to be a great flow.
@@eRice-m2p This was replaced by itwin-unreal-plugin.
Hi there, at 8:30 you're saying to reset the model to UE "origin", is this still valid? with the 5.1 UE update, georeferencing models should work out of the box now. Or am I missing something here? In my case, I want to keep my model georeferenced.
It should already be supported in a recent update. Please let me know if that is not the case.
@@4ddigitaltwin I did some testing, but unfortunately, I couldn't make any progress. The exporter crashes to the desktop every time I try to export (sample Stadium model). No error code, no warning. I am evaluating the iTwin Platform for possible purchases (or AEC use cases), so I might need some assistance here.
@@SuleBandi How can I check your model? Is your model in question uploaded to SYNCHRO Control?
@4D Digital Twin The model is actually the stadium sample file, I'm about to test our own model, and I'm gonna check back with some updates, is there another channel, where we can talk directly? And any chance to get the exact iModel (stadium_demo_1 model) that Mike showcased here in the video above? Would like to replicate the workflow. cheers
Sorry for late reply. Please contact to bentleysystems.service-now.com/csp?id=csp_index Or reach out to your Bentley account manager.
sorry what was the use of itwin? I am trying 4D synchro with a trial can I skip the iTwin? and go directly from 4D synchro to unreal engine?
You can't go directly from SYNCHRO 4D to Unreal.
In particular, you should know that the path from iTwin to Unreal seems to be blocked at the moment as well, because the "iTwin Exporter for Datasmith" is not available for download. I don't know if this is temporary or permanent.
@@4ddigitaltwin any chance you have the old plugin installer available that we can use? :)
Sorry about that. The installation file is missing.
@@4ddigitaltwin oh damn, i tried contacting bentley but they seem to have removed there association with data smith not sure who to contact with regards to this issue. Do you know who would be best to contact with regards to this issue?
i cannot package project and get a lot of errors, does data smith have to be used with unreal version 5.0.1?
Please contact Bentley technical support team.
Hi, How were you able to have the animation flow smoothly instead of just popping in to view after being imported into unreal. I’ve been unable to get it smoothly build, just appears instead within the animation. Does it have to be a combined mesh?
I know it needs to be a combined mesh to work properly. For technical questions, please use bentleysystems.service-now.com/. thanks.
Hello, I tried downloading iTwin Export for Datasmith but the page is showing an error and unable to download we have an urgency regarding this. Can you pls give a solution to download itwin exporter for datasmith
It looks like this is no longer supported by the Bentley iTwin team. If you'd like an official answer, please reach out to bentleysystems.service-now.com/csp.

Hi. Thanks for the video. It was really informative. I have a question though. When I play animation in unreal I've noticed that appearance profile didn't work. All I had was objects not visible or visible. There seemed not to be any indication of tasks duration. Can you please let me know how to export these into unreal as well?
Sorry. I'm not an expert on exporting SYNCHRO to unreal. Since this feature is managed by the iTwin team, I too will have to ask questions after a lot of testing. Would you like to contact Bentley Systems Technical Support?
@@4ddigitaltwin Thanks for this video. I have one more question , is it possible to edit or fix the synchro animation inside the Unreal. And if yes, how is it possible to do it?
@@СоломіяВербовська I don't think so. You can modify SYNCHRO animations in SYNCHRO 4D Pro.
developer.bentley.com/unreal/integration/documentation/
In combined-mesh exports we currently support
cutting plane (growing) animations
color animations (such as SYNCHRO appearance profiles)
visibility animations
transformation animations such as rotation, translation, and scaling
transformation-animated (moving) objects do not support color or cutting plane animations
That is a great Job , Is possible download the example file to test it ?
No, You should upload a .sp file to Control first.
