Many cultures around the World maintain their cultural heritage and roots while a majority of their population speaks English. The majority of the World speaks English, why? Because it is just a better language... get over it. Trying to force something on people never works, when left to choose for themselves the majority of the World choose English. The real goal of trying to force French on people in Quebec though, has nothing to do with 'maintaining heritage' it is to alienate themselves from the rest of Canada. In federal government there might be more ministers with French names than with English (in Quebec government almost exclusively French names) and they want to spend 600 millions " to defend Quebec identity".
