  • Hi, my lovely people! welcome welcome to another medical assistant vlog part 4! Yay I’m so excited to finally be uploading another MA vlog. I recently switched to another speciality (oncology). What does a medical oncologist for breast cancer do? “ Medical oncologists are specialists in how to use medication to treat cancer. They also figure out the chances your cancer will back. The medical oncologist manages your overall medical care for cancer and keeps an eye on your health during your treatment. They check your progress often, review your lab and X-ray results, and plan your medical care after your treatment.” It took me about 3 weeks to gather up different clips and put them together for you guys, the practice that I currently work for is a very busy practice which is why I was unable to film everything in one day. I hope you guys like this video! Don’t forget to like, comment and subscribe for more content!:) We are almost at 1k guys i love you guys so much lets make it happen before the year ends!😭

I actually really enjoy working in oncology. I didn’t know what to expect either when I accepted working in oncology. I really love it and you start recognizing pts since they will sometimes be coming in often for follow visits . So far I’ve had a great positive experience. Your work environment also has a lot to do with the staff you work with and the way your doctor is . But I’m sure you will do great you’ll learn so many interesting things . Remeber to bring a notebook to take notes and ask Lots of questions ☺️

Hi I'm 17 I just got certified will graduate soon but Im already looking for a job I wanted to know if oncology best way to start (really interested in oncology) or should I start with something easier to get experience also do you have any advice on pretty much anything I'm so nervous to get out there lol

Hi! It’s so good that your already planning ahead and looking for a job. It honestly depends on your interests as to where you would like to work, but since you have interest in oncology I would definitely apply! Just make sure that if you do decide to work in oncology you maintain a strong heart and I say this because I’ve experienced getting attached to patients and later I get the phone call that so and so has passed away. I’ve cried when I receive those phone calls because obviously it’s so sad, but this is just my experience and I just wanted to share that with you and I know everyone else is different/ handles certain situations differently:)! But if your looking to get hands on with everything I would do family practice. Family practice does so much hands on depending on the position you apply for. If you want hands-on apply for back office medical assistant positions. If you want to just work the front desk then apply to medical assistant front office. Or Some positions offer both front and back office. Aww no don’t be nervous to get out there everyone start somewhere💗. As far as advice don’t let them pay you minimum wage, research the company/office that u are applying too, if your working part time/ full time make sure you let them know what hours your looking for and be firm with them. Ask them if they have any benefits: sick hours, holiday pay ect.. when you go to your interview ask questions don’t be afraid. At the end of the day your picking what’s best for you so like I said don’t be afraid to ask questions or even negotiate the hourly pay. If you have any other questions let me know I’ll be more than happy to answer all of them☺️💗
