I agree. I've played every need for speed game but this one's content updates pretty much being online focused only was a massive let down. They didn't even bother bringing fast travel to single player. Just hope the next one is better. I couldn't recommend it to someone unless they just care about playing online
The single player experience in NFS Unbound is still terrible and it hasn't gotten a major update or story expansion it desperately needs. Once the servers shut down for this game, every update from 2024 will be non-existent. They've pretty much only updated multiplayer that's gonna hurt this game in the long run. I'm scared the next installment will be online only.

It's definitely better than it's mediocre launch, but the problem is most of the content is online only and locked behind a paywall. Probably just going to wait for the next game. It's definitely one of the Need for Speeds of all time.

I will always love NFS Unbound, no matter how many people say Heat is better. I do personally think this game is *way* better than Heat by a long shot. While the story is decent, everything else is great. Just to name a few points: the customiztion i feel is extremely great - custom racing effects, underglows, projections for under your car, even multiple bodykits for a majority of the cars definitely a more diverse car list compared to Heat - they have added extra cars per Volume update. They even added cars that I didn't even know existed, like the Evija probably one of the best multiplayer experiences yet - added game modes based on NFS Underground, NFS Hot Pursuit, etc. Added the new Lockdown mode with Blacklist-styled cars, which imo, I personally like a majority of them [Webster's Corvette, Bull's McLaren, Baron's Porsche some of my top favs] While I wasn't around much on Multiplayer between Launch & Volume 4, I must say the game has gotten so much better and much more enjoyable with each Volume update. The last thing I think the dev team needs to do with the game is a massive update to Single Player, then this game will be perfect. This is my take.

its definitely overhated. is it the best? no. but its worth the time and money. EA just doesnt have any goodwill to expend and it ends up hurting all of thier studios because of it
They just got to make that MP grind the single player from now on. We don't need an intricate revenge story in a racing game. Just do a Midnight club or UG2 and just have us climb the ladder in races. thats all. It quite literally saves them work AND it's better for the community just have cool characters with personality that pop in here and there and you're good. Like the mechanic from MC3
Had much fun in this game, only issues about the game is the huge amount of cheaters, and players sabotaging your game. And they're the only reasons why I abandon the game for several months at a time.
Had the same issue yesterday, I encountered the first cheater and I immediately decided to turn off crossplay especially for that reason, I play on PS5.
For the next update they should bring all the content updates to single player, it's good for the long run whenever the online server have to shutdown someday. It will packed so much content like a complete game.
This is my favorite nfs, granted I haven’t played most wanted since I was 12. I love the art style, the driving mechanics, and the online gameplay loop.
Crazy how it went from a bottom 3 nfs to a top 10 NFS in the span of two years. At least, that’s how I see it. What a turnaround for this game. We went from no freeroam police to tons of content, cars, customization. What a game. ❤
I actually missed the Volume 3 and 4 (and probably 5) because their support after launch was really bad. I came back into the game and there were Speed Passes and was happy to see they were still working on the game…
I play this game with the steering wheel I think that’s what took the fun away, it didn’t remind me of need for speed heat, or any other arcade games that had more of a sim feel to it. Haven’t played in 2 years, but it’s updating right now I’m playing today
I certainly hope this is not the last content update and really hope they add some new tracks ffs. The ones we have get old quick and simply get replayed too many times.

Need for speed should be a singleplayer experience at the core. Being focused on the story was what made mw2005, carbon and ug great. I feel like moden nfs all of them were made with online progression in mind making the singleplayer progression and story half baked(for heat too).
Side topic. There were some people saying that old NFS players keep asking MW remaster, and that phuc their nostalgia and they should move on. I believe that separate coexistence of festival/street racing should become the standard for NFS. This is a design that allows users to control their own stress levels, and this will be the method that will accommodate the largest fan base. In HEAT, this was dependent on day/night, but in the next one, it doesn't matter if time passes naturally. I want to the next NFS should be HEAT2, but I'm frustrated because Criterion will never do this. Because Criterion only makes spicy challenges, Unbound has become a game only for spicy food enthusiasts. They even wrote an article saying they would never make 'milk toast'. Do they think that people who like mild taste are not fans of NFS?

Seeing razor or at least hearing him in lock down is awesome and it’s no doubt the actor for him enjoyed it. Cons:the music playlist is so strange/weird. It’s got an identity crisis. The marking for this game was almost non existent. I saw a few ads on RUclips and Xbox but honestly not. ASAP rocky being a character in the game was so weird and btw his car is total dogshit. Great video BlackPanthaa, as always. Here’s my 2 cents on Unbound: At first, there were some hesitations on getting this game, I guess because of the whole “cartoon” effect being introduced in a Need For Speed game. But even if that was the case, it didn’t stop me to get it. After playing it for some time, I began to get used to the effects and later on, added some to my cars. I know there were other things that I believe people didn’t like as much, like the soundtrack, story and maybe the progression, but I feel like it’s overlooked too much. Before Kaizen was introduced, the first few updates to Online didn’t feel great, I’ll admit. But when the small team of devs stepped up, along with those meetings, a turning point was happening for Unbound (Y2 Roadmap). Since then, it opened a new perspective of the game. Although, I believe that not all games are perfect. There were some little errors made, but that’s what you can expect when there are updates. I understand and respect that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and in my opinion, I like Unbound more than Heat. I guess I’d have to do a full-scale, “brutally honest” review of Unbound in the future on my channel, so that I can explain in proper detail what all this means. I mean Unbound has pretty much been my go-to game, every time I get on my Xbox.
biggest down side of this game is that nobody wants to play any matches online, we need a better online match making system. Funny enough NFS payback actually had the best multiplayer experience from the last 3 games because you could actually join pretty full lobbies pretty quickly. in unbound I send a race notification to the lobby and nobody joins in in free roam. and I hate that because it limits you to only playing the 4 game modes in quick match. and even that game mode is usually 3-4 people not even full.
Is anyone else having connection problems? I've been trying to get the M3 GTR since the new update launched, and yesterday I finally got it. I was going for the truck when SHITTY EA DISCONNECTED ME. I almost threw my PC out the window
kind sir, extraction of vehicles not working i have 117 cars in online 75 in story and i am not getting the car extracted scene/page when i extract a car succesfully from the lockup. my friend gets softlock in loading screen after every session of anything.. and another friend of mine has some save game issue which means he cannot even run the game.. so nice job.. its a fun game to play though if u have friends to play with
I've finished this game ( story mode) no idea what the hell the "story" was about lol ASAP rocky jumped in telling me his life story for what reason I have no idea 😂it was still fun though

i destroyed ur barcode named tm8 too lol
Brother i got it for free on xbox game pass and I love it
Probably going to pick it uo next time it's on sale
It was a great experience! Everyone should give it a second chance
Just bought it few days ago, Palace edition for like 10€ and for now it’s ok but I like Heat more. I don’t dig the art style and those effects on cars but all in all for 10€ it’s very good. Might even give EA another 10€ for vol. 9 speed pass or 15€ for ultimate edition upgrade
Every since they made the drifting more accurate as Forza horizon with the drift tires , it has been soo much worth it💪🏻💪🏻 , had to redownload it cause when it came out I wasn’t really happy with them stiff ahhh drifting but now it’s much better
Got this game for less than $5 on steam sale. Def worth it. Think it's still that price rn
Other than the story how does the single player progression feels like...?
I can't wait to play this.
Its one of the best need for speed games in my opinion
Bro they brought back the NFS icon logo
Where
7:45 S "L" = Loan car, according to your inventory
Great video BlackPanthaa, as always. Here’s my 2 cents on Unbound:
At first, there were some hesitations on getting this game, I guess because of the whole “cartoon” effect being introduced in a Need For Speed game.
It happens, in years of NFS era
I love it. The cops actually do Florida cop stuff. Lol
biggest down side of this game is that nobody wants to play any matches online, we need a better online match making system.
It was until they deleted Hot Pursuit mode from the main menu
pants, you forgot the F1 which you get by owning heat
Is anyone else having connection problems? I've been trying to get the M3 GTR since the new update launched, and yesterday I finally got it. I was going for the truck when SHITTY EA DISCONNECTED ME. I almost threw my PC out the window
Yeah it was good but we need to know what’s the next ? 😎
Can you now remap buttons for PC? Or are you still bound for the default controls?
I kind of enjoy it tbh. Not as much as Underground 1-2, but it's a solid NFS game imo.
You must have gotten those recent review things a while ago - there's been 600 more reviews since then and its back to mixed :(
If I’m only after playing single player is it worth buying the ultimate version or just stick with the base game?
kind sir, extraction of vehicles not working i have 117 cars in online 75 in story and i am not getting the car extracted scene/page when i extract a car succesfully from the lockup. my friend gets softlock in loading screen after every session of anything.. and another friend of mine has some save game issue which means he cannot even run the game.. so nice job.. its a fun game to play though if u have friends to play with
I think its fun. So I play it.
I've finished this game ( story mode) no idea what the hell the "story" was about lol ASAP rocky jumped in telling me his life story for what reason I have no idea 😂it was still fun though
Not saying Underground Garage "borrowed" the workshop design from Unbound, but... I'm saying they borrowed the design.
I’ve had it for ever just started playing it lol
