A lovely tour of your stand, thank you. It looked beautiful - you clearly put a lot of thought into your layout!

Thanks Jillayne I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! I think the stand layout is quite important and it was a really good experience for me. Lovely to share my work with a different audience too.

I decided to treat myself to visiting the Borders Art fair. I'd done Liz's sketchbook course and thought it would be nice to get the chance to both meet Liz and to see some of the final works that arose for her as a result of all the gathering, exploration and processes she shared with us in her 'Wild Flora' sketchbook course.
WOW! is all i can say ... nothing prepared me for the 'Lifey spark of joy' i felt in seeing your work live like that Liz. It's like your stand and your work felt 'alive and buzzing'. I'm so grateful i got the chance to go and experience this tangible contrast between how things appear online v's how they FEEL 'in the flesh'.
I'd say if you like Liz's work online you will LOVE it in person. Liz, its inspired me to go through your course again with fresh eyes and a new connection to the process. I can't wait to see the Ramshackles collection when it births. I'm glad the fair was a great experience for you too.

Hi thank you so much for your generous comments. It was so lovely to meet you and chat with you at the fair. I am so glad that you enjoyed it and got to see the paintings up close and in the flesh at the show. I think it’s hard to convey the layers, depth and energy in the work online, however good the cameras and videoing is. I’m so glad you decided to go through the course again. I’m sure you will get even more from it this time around. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to provide this feedback- I’ll be sure to share it on my course testimonials!

Thanks for sharing. I like your work. Is it rude to ask if you made any sales of your hung work? Did you get a feeling from other exhibitors about how they had done ? Do you feel that there is a min/max price point for paintings ? Forgive me for asking these questions but I should think there are many others (budding artists like myself probably) who would also like to know. All the very best……Richard.

Hi Richard I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Yes I did make sales and in the video I mention the sale of the large painting: ‘Reach for the sky’. Yes there were sales throughout the fair- some do better than others and that’s not always predictable and varies from year to year. I am new to the fair. Prices often reflect the experience of the artist. Artists should price their work accordingly and not fit a venue as they need to be consistent across the board. Buyers that have an awareness of art and its value will pay for well priced work. I hope that helps to answer your questions.

What a beautiful display of your lovely work, Liz. Hope it's a great success. Also, I loved the tour around that beautiful area as well. Best wishes.

Hi Anna thanks for your kind comments - I’m glad you enjoyed the video. The fair was just on for the weekend but it’s good to get work out to a different location.

Thank you for sharing your experience. Quite a few times I helped on a stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair so appreciate the effort that goes into having the product ready for sale, packing it, displaying it, and of course fielding all the questions in between meeting old friends and new customers. Well done. It’s so lovely that you also went to the trouble of documenting and sharing this part of your art business.

Hi Jane thank you for your comments. I am so glad you enjoyed the video - I have always put effort into ensuring my channel reflects my artist life/business even though it’s a lot of work. I appreciate you noticing it! You are right - art fairs are a huge amount of work but also good as a way of getting out and meeting new people.

Very beautiful Liz. I love your art . Thank you for sharing your system. I do have a question, what are you using to describe the piece next to the art itself? It doesn’t look flat but raised a bit.

Thank you Christine - I’m glad you enjoyed the video and my work. If you are referring to the labels then they are mounted on foam core. I hope that helps.

Brilliant work. The display stand showed things off very well, and I'm not surprised there was a lot of interest. The large paintings are wonderful. The concertina books are an interesting idea and a dream away from the traditional format. Really well done.

Hi William thank you so much for your kind comments. It was a good event and I’m really glad I did it. Also quite a few people took cards so you never know when they might get in touch about work. Selling is often a long game as it depends on so many factors. I was thrilled to sell one of my favourites especially a large one and as I’m new to the fair.

Thanks for bringing us along! I love how you displayed the concertina books! Of course, artists' sketchbooks are the best to spy on, aren't they? That was a lot of work but seems you got a lot out of it as well!

Hi you are very welcome- glad you enjoyed the video. Yes sketchbooks are always fascinating aren’t they? I think this was of displaying was ok but it doesn’t enable the full view of the sketchbooks so that’s something to ponder! It was a lot of work but It did enable a lot of interaction with a new audience other artists which was great.

Hi Candice I’m glad you enjoyed it. I don’t always use pastels but the ones where I do, I fix with spray fixative.

Thank you. I have 2 concertina sketchbooks and haven't used them yet. You've inspired me to get outside once the snow is gone and give them a try. @@LizAckerley
