Lived in Delaware many years after college. (Did attend Wesley College 1970-1972). Resided in Camden, Dover, and near Frederica. Felt very comfortable living there. Moved to Florida in 1988 not because of anything negative but a change and of course, the climate. My mother's high school years were in Milford. My uncle taught school in New Castle county for about 32 years; he lived in New Castle and after he retired, relocated to Herring Creek in Sussex county. My maternal grandfather had a restaurant in both Milford and Rehoboth.
If a person had no money limit, is looking for a smalll town (not that small) including beauty, walkabililty, and best downtown. Where are the top five places you would pick for them?
@BrandonWindom According to the yokals the population here is unbearable. 🙄 People would still be getting married to their sisters if this place didn't start to develop. They also shut everything down as if there was extreme weather. They'll literally cancel school for fog that lifts by 7 am. Then wonder why the education system in Sussex, as revenue rich as it is, has such a bad rap.
Possibly looking at Symrna. Don't want an HOA, want a newer construction or want to build, somewhere in the 400k range. Only thing important is access to fishing and keeping commute to Baltimore/Annapolis around an hour. I know nothing of DE, only know about Smyrna because my husband is a truck driver. Our property taxes are 7k and going up 29% this year, so we'd like to get out of MD. Ideas of areas?
So Kent and Sussex county will probably be your best bet. Areas over in southerwestern part of Delaware have more land and is a bit cheaper. Feel free to reach out and we can discuss it more 302-465-8055.
I'm in the initial stages of researching DE. I'm in So. MD property taxes is $9k+, homeowners insurance is up, overpopulated, crime is up, it's time to leave the DMV and these useless politicians running my County. I'm over it.
@@Livingindelawareofficial Yes, I know Newark is an incorporated city, and so is Olde New Castle in the same respects. What makes a city a true city? What are the characteristics that make people want to live there? I also see the swell in Middletown, and that is almost sickening. I see people leaving Wilmington, and Wilmington is becoming a beacon for fresh blood. I love living on Union Street.
hey Brandon. I want to invest as a landlord in willmington. is it a tenant friendly or a landlord friendly state? how long does an eviction take place if the tenant is squatting?
I can’t speak about crime because of fair housing laws but I did do a video specifically on Wilmington where I do mention they do have all of the typical problems inner cities have everywhere and to do your research but Wilmington is much bigger than just the inner city

Wow you have deep roots in Delaware. Speaking of Wesley College they actually just got acquired by DSU in 2021.

Great question If I had to choose it would probably be Wilmington,Newark, then anyone of the beach towns like Lewes,Bethany,Rehoboth
I moved not too long ago from Louisiana to Lewes for my grandparents. I love it here
Glad you are enjoying it
The entire Delmarva peninsula is just miniature Florida in the mid-Atlantic.
Minus the extreme weather and population

Delaware is tenant friendly but not crazy eviction If you do it correctly 60-90 days in most cases.
1:48 also has a gang problem you failed to mention that 🤷🏾♂️
