I miss running duo tank, but 5v5 is a better game overall
Funny enough duo tanks still gets played a lot bc of supports lacking line of sight "game sense" to getting flanked in low to mid ranks such as plat and diamond. Then again this is only an opinion of someone who plays on console. So i could be way off base for the majority of the whole.

I think 5v5 is worse for getting steamrolled because you could have 1 or multiple people not playing well and instantly lose a match.
Also I hate that since there isn't 2 tanks Rein gets destroyed even if you have a decent support line. I feel like most of his health is just cosmetic.
I think he should be given back 625hp and maybe a slight speed buff so he doesn't need rely on lucio as much but I don't know how that would overall affect his performance.
TBH 5v5 is much more boring and overall worse (Console Player btw)
If one of your teammates are bad, you INSTANTLY lose unless the enemy is the same way and in 6v6 you can make up for one bad player.
Losing 1 tank makes support so much more boring.
6v6 had much more communication and room for errors so mistakes could be punished but also recovered from, while one mistake now is an almost instant loss...so on and so forth.
Tanking in overwatch 2 feels awful at the moment. Counter-picking fiesta.
does anyone have the code used for that 1v1 map? i used to have it in overwatch 1 but i found playing it in ow2 it didnt have proper doomfist scaling or ow2 characters

Rein zarya and winton dva was the best thing ever happened
So annoying when people talk about the “good old days” of OW. I was recently watching games from three years ago and the games were equally as chaotic as they are now. It drives me nuts when plat players on Reddit say that they miss the “tank synergy” and “team coordination” of OW and then I watch top 500 players do none of that. If top 500 lobbies were clown fiestas, then what do you think plat lobbies looked like?
Also the game wasnt as well understood, so if we were to revert the balance changes over the years, it would just break everything
Honestly, yeah. I miss the "tank synergy" but when I say that I mean whatever tank + zarya fucking lmao. Face it, we just miss the bubble that zaryas provided, we dont miss much "synergy"
It's a bunch of people who are just complaining to complain. Most of them never even plated ow1. It's just a huge echo chamber of hating
Just watch some of the pro play breakdowns people did back in the day and you'll see. Games were fast paced but there's nuance to how you act when there's more players on the field which does make a difference. Plus judging by only watching it is a really weak position to stand on

I was looking at the engagement timing, ability usage, comps, general positioning, etc. Obviously top 500 lobbies were really fast paced but it’s not like everyone was playing as an OWL team like the OW nostalgics would tell you. Some games were just as TDM-y as they are in OW2. Add to this that we’re talking about top 500 lobbies… how do you think metal ranked games looked?

Does anyone even play open queue since the tank health changes? My friends and I used to go open queue when we felt like playing double tank, but the health changes just made tanks worse dps lol. Except for Zarya, she's still fun. But honestly double shield can go to hell, played it back in ow1 and it was one of the most miserable times of my life. Anyways, love ya Flats!
Old overwatch was fun and yes probably more "balanced" aside from hog and doom (oh no, not balance). The hard part about overwatch 1 that needed to be changed was the stalemates from so many damn shields. I personally hate push and as a support am less of a fan of 5v5 but overall this was the correct decision. Next step is to figure out the damn ranking system, just give us back elo or something because this new shit is too confusing.

i think 6v6 would have been fine if they split the tanks into primary and off tanks,think the main issue was just to many shields
Like make the tanks weaker? Then wouldn't they be glorified DPS? Honestly it's a bad idea to have two bullet sponges imo

Ow1 was unbalanced because of shield and cc spam, not cuz of 6v6. if we kept the removal of cc and shields and kept 6v6 instead of changing to 5v5 we would be in a much better place rn.

I always thought same, when was Overwatch really balanced? Never, 100% Balance is almost impossible. Just like every other MP Game.

I 1v free for all trash talkers, currently undefeated as Ana. Typically I get the first kill tbag and quit, 3 times had to go first to 3. Wish hero bans wasn't a thing in elimination, winners being locked would be an incredible mode
I prefer ow1 anyway, it was more strategic and fun, and I got hm 1 so easily in ow2 so isn’t about the rank or some shit, I was a masters player in ow1 and I still prefer those days

He's wrong. The game was factually more balanced with two tanks, allowing one of them to off tank and deal with the bullshit that gets to run rampant in this game. Yeah sure shields are bad, change shields, dont remove an entire character slot.
Convinced top 500 hates Overwatch 1 more than the rest of us. We weren't obsessed with Goats, we didn't have to endure a broken ass meta because we didn't tryhard every. damn. game. We played... for fun.
Sorry but if these are the players we're balancing the game around and they're still complaining I say stuff them, why do we keep suffering through dumb stuff like hanzo's infinite range with one hit capability or constant shield nerfs making is so we have to readjust our playstyle for the 400th time JUST so that the 500 players of our thousand base of players can have slightly more fun than the rest of us.
I used to love watching Flats and now It's like you're a different person on a whole different level.
I liked Overwatch and I can't express how disappointing it is to find out how arrogant our streamers, the voices of our community, are getting.
Maybe I'm just blaming them for the poor state of balance my tier is in. But it's not like Blizzard listens to anyone else but them.
They're getting the supports changed.

Not more balanced due to some EASY TO FIX things
You know how to fix dual shields? Remove hard shields - make shields like sigma REDUCE incoming damage not mitigate it entirely.
Easy fix.

I rather play OW1
game play wise i’m not sure if you could compare it, they are both very close to me but different enough. However, i would say ovw was better than ovw2 overall for a couple main reasons. 1) all the monetization and overpriced skins in the shop. (NOTE: I love the thought of funding games that i love and adore through battle passes and stuff but the shop is absolutely terrible and the fact you can’t get coins through the BP or anything is insane AND hero’s being locked to buying the battle pass or getting 1/2 way though it is a bit ridiculous.) and 2) the comp system, compared to ovw is **respectfully** the trashiest system i’ve ever even heard of in video games. when i still played comp it made me happy to finally get the last win i needed so i could stop and to inevitably just rank the exact same or lower because i don’t wanna play it anymore. :)
^^Basically to sum it up, i’d like ovw2 a lot more and be able to stand it more if comp didn’t feel like prison and if the shop wasn’t overpriced and too expensive AND you could get coins without having to buy it. :/
@@Jess-tr4tcI agree somewhat, but heros aren't just locked to bp, for the start yes, you could either play the game to unlock the. Free by doing battle pass, or paying right away for said battle pass. And if you don't do that you can do said hero challenge which unlocks then free

OW1 aka 6vs6 was better - change my mind
I honestly hate to say it, but OW2..... is... better then OW1. I just hate that they gave up on the character perk storyline stuff, and with the waste of time they spent trying to make it, they didn't add more interesting characters. I remember them saying they had so many. Adding more characters to the roles is a good thing for the game. We all as humans are diverse, and a game that can property handle a majority of the complicated minds and cultures that we have in this world.... it would have been so good. Even with broken heroes....

Because this game is a first person shooter and its called support because their only role isn't to put you on a leash and dog walk you with heals, its to also assist and get kills themselves, because this is a fcking first person shooter. Ahh yes, because having a character that can’t defend themselves or provide help to their team on any type of push map during overtime will definitely balance the game, fucking think for once, do some supports need their damage nerfed?
