You must be proud. It reminds me of a clockmaker I knew, I walked into his house and said, what a fabulous grandfather clock. thank you he said, my grandfather made it.
Obviously she’s dedicated to craft and art in general; stunning frames of exceptional quality, and then the filming and presentation of the video was really something! You must be incredibly proud.
Dear Mr. Johnson. 👍👏👌 Congrats! You and your wife definitely brought up a very skilled and very beautiful daughter! Very well done. This calm video/trailer is wonderful, simultaneously informative and kind of meditational/meditative. Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you (including the animals of course).
Omg I almost wanted to cry seeing such a beautiful video. Woodwork is something I always loved but never could pursue. As I perused my career I built a shop in my garage where i made frames for my photographs (photographed for 50 years) for shows and then made long bows, from a single piece of yew. Have done some lathe work making pens bowls etc. now I make knives and my real passion split bamboo fly rods with a speciality case for them. Being 69 and waiting for my new home to be built and having my first basement shop. I’m going to combine my knives with my rods and place them in a presentation case. Which allows me to round out all my crafts in one. The care you put into your work is so satisfying. I watch you tubes where some people restoring things makes me cringe on how they don’t look at detail. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Congratulations to and for your daughter. I've long said the very best in life is to be exceeded by your children. The amazing thing is that her hands have exactly the same efficiency and grace and purpose as yours. Was just offered this by RUclips after having watched a couple of dozen of your videos to prepare to restore my wife's Viennese heirloom credenza, which was damaged badly in moving. Thanks to you, it's well again, and she can't pick out the repair sites, though I can. Still, "I think it looks pretty good!"
Thanks! That is so nice! I like that. And yes, I think that's why I say "pretty good". All I can see are the places I could have done a bit better. No one else can see them!
@@johnsonrestoration Thanks to you. Watching you (and hopefully watching more of your daughter too) is a great pleasure. I hope our words of appreciation are a little contribution towards your hard work at making these videos.
I think you've done pretty good Tom ..... she's your greatest masterpiece. It's always so wonderful to see a parents love for their child translate into a confident passionate and happy adulthood. You from your own fathers love and now Emily from yours. Thank you this really made a lot of people smile myself included.
Best wishes and prayers for your daughter, she has an extremely talented father to show her how to excel... thanks Tom for all your contribution. Respect from Pakistan
Mr. Tom, I know you must be very proud. Nothing like family traditions that continue to be passed down to the next generations. Skills like yours and now your daughters, are becoming a lost art. Thank you for sharing and the frames do look pretty good. Take care!!
@@johnsonrestoration As it should be, but she got the inspiration from you. I love seeing people that have a passion for working with their hands. Have a great day, Mr. Johnson! Looking forward to your next project.
That’s awesome, thank you for sharing this part of your family. She is very talented just like her father. I know what it feels like to be proud of a children and see the influence we have had on them. Your daughter has your mannerisms in detail and quality. Her frames are by themselves a work of art.
I knew we had something in common....happy to see your daughter follow and lead in her father's footsteps....my two daughters followed in mine as well....the teaching profession. Bless your family Tom and, as always, a big hug for Ella. Be well my friend.
I love this and I love that you've passed on the same love of woodworking to your daughter and she has found a passion that fits her. Who knows, she may start a shop like dad's. This was very heartwarming, thank you.
@@johnsonrestoration I enjoy your work and my only grumble is there isn't more and they aren't a bit longer! I've enjoyed the tips and tricks and I continue to enjoy seeing how some things have been "repaired" in the past. Seeing your daughter carrying on with woodwork in her own way show that the love of working with wood can run in the family.
This video warmed my heart, Tom. Your Daughter is a nugget from the Family Stone, indeed. But I want to mention your video "Basement Rescue" from March 13, 2020. I have seen all your videos, but this one, to me, is the pinnacle of your attention to detail, and you recognition of the Spirit of a loved piece. I am a perfectionist, trained by my beloved, late Father... a great Canadian Architect. He taught me from the age of five to be the best Draftsman possible. In time I was hired by Canada's top Architect as Senior Draftsman. Your Emily reminds me of myself, and you remind me of my Dad. I wanted you to know this, Tom. Thank you.... Barry
Hello Thomas it has been a while since we have had the pleasure of seeing Emily doing woodworking see where she gets her talents from you all take care 😀👍
I know from personal experience with my own four kids (now grown up) that you cannot take it for granted that they will share your feelings about any particular line of work. From much more limited experience, I know how good it feels to see an instance of their incorporating into their own work something that they learned from you. You must be enjoying some of that latter feeling, seeing your daughter use her woodworking skills in starting a business of her own. May she prosper.
Tom, I can see that your daughter has your father and your artistic genes and I am sure she and you are proud of your father's talent, too. She is beautiful!!!!!
I really dig that spline cutting jig. Excellent work performed with great care! Also, sweet knife! I'm sure young tommy thought it was quite the weapon
Absolutely beautiful. When I was growing up my little town (population 400) had a man that did custom framing. His name was Mr. Barnes and he did beautiful work. Your daughter’s work reminds me of him. Thank you for sharing.
Just wanted to tell you that I repaired my office chair (wood) which completely fell apart. My wife said "You better buy a new one." I said, no problem. I watch Thomas Johnson's videos all the time and I can do this. I did it. Looks pretty good. Thanks.
There is another thing running in your family: the soothing and calming nature of your personality, your work, and your voice at it echoes in my shop as today made few visitors pause and watch your videos! They asked me whether I learned my skills from you and I replied vehemently “ yes! But it’s no where near to be enough of what’s more to be learnt from him!”
