I have Dewalt pruners like yours and I love them!! My husband made me promise to keep my other hand back by my side while pruning so I don’t chop my fingers off.😂
I love this working walkabout video. Your teaching in pruning a shrub into a small tree is helpful to me. The garden edits that leave “breadcrumbs” for tulip bulb planting is genius! I only wish I could grow tulips here in N. Florida Zone 9. 🌷 💐
Yes, you're great Linda for that pruning routine. I'm on board with your eye for its beauty in the garden. I am going to slowly adapt my garden like this. strangely it's not as popular on this side of the pond. I've watched you for years doing this and speaking of appreciation for the beautiful structure the bones of a tree or large shrub that you transform with this method. Overall I think it s0mehow makes a garden a more magical place. Having canopies created for seating areas or to walk under, exposing negative space of course makes for a bigger look to your space or opens up a space for smaller seasonal plants. And yes I agree with you the branches do look very attractive when cleaned off of their leaves, making for another element of interest in the garden, especially if a particular tree or shrub has a colourful bark.
It's amazing how fast the boxwood teenagers grew. I'd move them now, before their shade starts to interfere with the shape of the spheres. More room for tulips! Also, I hope that's an earthworm and not a jumping worm.
Hiway 5 is closed because of snow first time this season in Norcal. Raining down here. For days. Watering my garden is officially over. Stay warm & cozy & safe everyone.
I’m a northern Californian and living in the Bay Area. Do you know that we have gotten no rain. I have plants that are dying because of no water:-/. I keep reading about the extremely northern areas getting rain. I’m desperate!
Sadly we can’t do the leaf mulch thing. We have big leaf maples, and we get so much rain over the winter it turns into a slimy slug palooza… I tried one year and lost a lot of plants due to slugs and mold. BUT I bought the Worx leaf mulcher and it works great until the leaves are too wet to mulch. It’s been a huge help with the beginning of leaf drop clean up!
Find another spot for those 2 boxwoods. Extra space will help everything below breathe and spread out. ...just my opinion. Thanks for all the info on alliums! linda from ne
Watching you..bring memories of my LG garden..moved,and have spent alll week doing outside Christmas..LG covered porch..trip to greenhouse..bought many greens filled my porch up, Hugh wreath for my front window..looks so pretty ❤ had them make me a cedar kissing ball..just like it plain.
Linda, I would move those two front bushes. I thought maybe just forward away from the bush they are closest and they would still grow rounder and look so happy.
I would love a video on how to create a drift of bulbs. I just never seem to makle mine look good so anuy help I can get with this would be great! Thanks for considering
Looking forward to your next video on amaryllis bulbs. Mine have been growing long strappy leaves since late August. When is a good time to cut them back? Or do I just leave them alone and wait for the winter to kill them off? They’ve been growing outdoors in containers. I have them mulched with moss so bugs don’t eat the bulbs. I’m in zone 10a Northern California.
i found the pruners, thanks....question for you.....on your amazon favorites i see christmas bulbs and a picture of them on your sparse tree in front of a window....do you have source for trees like that ??
Is the snowball Chinese or Japanese? What is the difference? I am trying to start a small garden and want one as the focal point. Thank you for sharing.
Question about Cool Job gloves. I like mine, but they are starting to get sticky. Anyone else have this problem? I wash them in the washer but never put them in the dryer. I let them air dry. Any suggestions?
Yes, I've noticed that, too. Perhaps it was due to tossing them in the washer. Or maybe that's just their problem. I have laundered other gloves with no problems.
@ I love your cottage on the hill! I watch Homeworthy on RUclips all the time and rewatched your episode last night. You did a wonderful job! Just thought I’d let you know. Happy Thanksgiving!🦃🍁🍽
Those leaf blowers! I’m considering petitioning my city to outlaw them! The gas powered ones that landscapers use are crazy loud and a health hazard and most of the time are not necessary on small city lots. Love watching the seasons of your garden!
Hi Linda... Thanks for the great tips... and WOW! What a gorgeous, sunny day where you are! Cheers, Leesa in France.
Keep the boxwood balls where they are Linda. They make a great first impression❣️🎋🌿. It’s the first things you see at the main entrance to your yard.
I can’t believe how fast the viburnum tree is growing it’s going to look beautiful when spring comes along next year.
Hi Linda and Stewart. Shaping up that snowball made a huge difference. Looks very architectural. BEAUTIFUL
Hi Linda. A great walkabout Wednesday. Thank you. X
Love all the pruning you did and how it just made everything look so more open. Beautiful even in the fall…thanks for sharing with us.♥️
Love the sweater!!
Came here to say that I can’t look at plants, the sweater is too cute.
Great pruning and loved the video
So nice of you
Those allium globes are going to be great!
Love the tool you used to shape up your Chinese Snowball Viburnum. My arthritic hands need it for Christmas.
It’s fab!
I had never thought about pruning up a magnolia. I'm definitely going to go look at mine and see if I can do that too.

A very informative segment, Linda & Stewart!❤

I so enjoy your blogs! Thank you!
Very helpful ty Linda !
You're so fabulous! 💚🌳
Great video as usual Linda! Just love listening to all you have to offer. Thank you so much! Happy Thanksgiving.
Ordered the army green jumper. X Rosie O 🎉

I would move the boxwoods hiding the ball shaped shrubs.
I am team clean out the beds by the sidewalk stairs and let the boxwoods shine. It would be a nice contrast to the upper garden
Thank you for sharing all your knowledge on garden editing! Can you leave a link for the shovel you were using?
Thank you Linda 👍 good job.
Yes! Very helpful! I have an Edgeworthia Paper Bush to plant this week after our good rain. That will be the end of planting for me this year.😊

Another great video
Linda love you. Hi stewart😊
Viburnum looks much better. It hurt when I pulled up my impatiens a few days ago but much easier after rain and before freeze.
Just wondering if you intend to limit the height of the snowball tree as they grow quite tall eventually?
i found the pruners, thanks....question for you.....on your amazon favorites i see christmas bulbs and a picture of them on your sparse tree in front of a window....do you have source for trees like that ??

What ever happened to your Lomi? Do you still have it and love it? I’m thinking about getting one for Christmas
I have actually seen several pairs of tall hunter boots on facebook marketplace, and yes in red.
Thx for the gravel tip under the Alliums. cgzone8
best to give away those sweet dug up plants to some one who needs them
Your garden has filled in so incredibly fast. Hard to believe you are already having to do some editing.
Linda are the hunter boots true to size or do they run bigger or smaller to true size ?
Slightly larger I think. I like them that way:)

Hey, Linda!
Hey hey!

Hope that worm isn't a JUMPING WORM!!!!🪱🪱🪱🪱
👍♥️♥️
Does your neighbor purposely haul out the leaf blower for Wednesday walk abouts? 😂
😝

Hopefully the bamboo stakes won't root in.
