Kasey! If you wrap the sanding paper around a piece of wood or something like that it will make it easier to sand some parts, like wrapping around a pencil or something like that, and for 3d like thw dog with the legs you can put the sanding paper akong the border of the table and sand with the legs hanging outside the the table, a littke weird explenation
hello! you may not read this, but i have watched your channel forever!! and now im in art school, and i wanted you to know you were a big influence and inspiration to me!!! and also i call the koi watercolor palette the casey watercolors lol
Hey Kasey, if you cover the thinner parts of your clay project with an aluminum foil tent, then it shouldn't darken so much. At least that's what works for me. Great video, I love the creativity!
Quick tip! In Art class in HS I was taught that you score each part of the clay and then add slip and stick them together. Slip is a bit of watered down clay that's used like a glue. Scoring each side just entails scraping or etching some lines on each part then they stick better together when you are trying to add pieces of clay to each other.
This works better with actual clay needed to be fired in a kiln but for oven bake it doesn't always work as well. This does work a bit better on air dry clay though since air dry requires a lot more water in the process to keep it malleable
@@KaseyTheGolden You just need some bake & bond if you don’t have any! Sometimes oven bake clay just needs a little extra clay glue to fully stick together, unlike regular pottery clay.
Kasey, there's a thing called a sanding stick. it's like a modified version of a nail file if the nail file was a Swiss Army knife. it has several different grits, different angles w different probe sizes all in one stick. it's perfect for the clay piece sizes you make. look it up. you'll wonder how you've lived without it.
That second blob with those two pointy spikes, made me think of a snail. Some snails are “possessed” by some sort of parasite that live inside their eyes. It’s really creepy, but then their eyes look a bit like that, hypnotically pulsating until they got eaten by a bird, pooped out, and then another snail got infected by the parasite through the bird poop. Then the circle is complete.
Yay!! I’m so happy to watch you get into clay more. I enjoy how your pieces are still so -you- despite the different medium. Edited to say: love the mermadillo so much!
I love them, especially the latter three. The 3D gives a lot to them! I don't know if you know anything about Moriah Elizabeth, but she makes 3D blobs from air dry clay - basically just. Blob-shaped blobs. So I could definitely relate this video to hers! I'd also love to see more 3D art in the future, though I really love everything you do.
I love them all so much, when ever i get art block i just watch your videos and inspiration hits me like a truck... A creepy black truck with a rat tail in this instance...
As someone who is obsessed with rendering realistic rocks, I greatly enjoy your stylized rocks and textures. They're so different from anything I make or anyone else's rocks I look up for reference, absolutely gorgeous!
You have no idea on how much you inspired me. I started drawing seriously around... 6 years ago? I had NO idea what my style was, but once I stumbled on your channel it all clicked! I wanted to do cartoon and happy and colourful pieces and for a couple years my style was a mix of Steven Universe + Kasey Golden. As time passed, I developed my own style and I'm very happy at how it looks, but your influence is definitely still there. Also, my traditional pieces are all made in watercolor now (I'm definitely still learning! But I always think of you whenever I draw, my last drawing (it's incomplete in my drawer but I'll get to it!!) really reminds me of that cat girl you drew on a bike! I didn't even realize at first, but it showed me how i never truly forgot about you even after 2 years without visiting your channel. I look up to you and whenever you do something wrong I feel as if I'm learning it myself. Whenever you do your close ups and show the imperfections in your drawings it makes me more confident because I realize I don't need to be perfect to be good. ESPECIALLY when you tried to do realistic art and said you couldn't; I was like "... You don't need to know realism to be an artist...?" You made me feel so much better about my art and whenever I mess up I think about you. Thank you, Kasey, for being such an amazing artist and a great teacher! Love from Brazil 😁 ( I cried more than what I wanted to admit while writing this because it's something I've wanted to say to you for ages) Edit: Also, I'm doing digital design now and it's thanks to you that the love for art awakened in me :) )
I keep creating clay blobs, intentional because of my brain vision and my hands don't agree and also unintentional - yet never thought of utilizing them that way - sure looks fun!!
Hello! You might never see this but im making a video with artists like you (amazing ones) give abit of advice to the small art community! So maybe ever maybe can you reply with a saying somehing like "dont give up" or something? It would be so amazing if Kasey Golden gave everyone in the small art community some advice! Ive watched you for EVER!
Kasey and Moriah should do a collab! Maybe they could make blobs together 😗 Edit: I just realized it seems like I copied another comment, I swear I didn't 🥲
CLAY TIP: I have a etsy shop were a lot of what I sell is clay items and I always bake my clay at 200 - 215 for about 30 minutes or more and then you don't need to worry about buring!
If you are worried about bits falling off your pieces you can use pieces of wire as internal scaffolding, along with some liqid clay (Sculpey do one called 'Bake & Bond') and it will keep everything secured together.
Once you had a flat layer of blue in the first one and had the ball painted, it was giving me blues clues. Like, that is the exact shade of blue the dog. Also, some of them ended up very Pokémon like and I am here for it.
I’m not sure what kinda clay you use but I know that for a lot of oven bake clay like sculpy you can use rubbing alcohol to smooth out texture like fingerprints and stuff to help out with sanding later!
One trick u might like (and to help cut down on some sanding) is rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab to get rid of finger prints and rougher edges :) I got this!
The little mouse guy reminds me of the little mouse spirit thing in Dog Island for the Wii. That game man… such a good game, I recommend it to anyone who has a Wii
Hey! Kasey is using Original Sculpey clay, Holbein Acryla Gouache, and uv resin!!! She goes more in depth about the materials in the video before this one :)
If you're using polymer clay I have two suggestions to help with the burning. First, get an oven thermometer. It's surprising just how off your temperature can be! Second, put a tent of aluminum foil over your pieces. Somehow it helps prevent the clay burning!
Hullo Kasey, I wanted to say something about your unique and inventive blob creatures, yet my mother told me if I can’t say something nice say nothing at all, so I enjoyed your video very much and they’re very cute, good luck next time. Damn, I sure miss being involved with Patreon. See you next video.
I watched last weeks video like 10 times and now will probably do the same with this one! More clay!!! Please get Nerdecrafter’s Super Not Another Crap Kit!
I've always dreamed of the day when kasey tries out clay! Its so exciting to see you work with such a new medium and to see you figure out how the heck you make art that still feels like your own, using something so different. I could tell how fun you found it realising the power of sculpting when you made the armadillo fish creature!
I’ll be going LIVE on twitch later today, be sure to give me a follow so you know when!
www.twitch.tv/kaseythegolden
Woo Hooo I'll be there

Best of luck with art school
Ah, Art school must be so cool! Wish you luck! ^^
Good luck :)
This can be a really good collaboration. You swap blobs with other artist and get to paint their random shapes.
That’s a great idea!!
Hey Kasey, if you cover the thinner parts of your clay project with an aluminum foil tent, then it shouldn't darken so much. At least that's what works for me.
Great video, I love the creativity!
Omg!!! They all turned out so goofy and cute!!! But also…. Kasey the dog person???? 😱
NO. IT’S JUST EASIER TO GIVE DOGS FLOPPY EARS. CATS NEED TALL EARS. 😡
Moriah Elizabeth and Kasey Golden need to do a collab because they have created blob creatures and it would be so cute and funny to see them together❤
my two favorite artists on RUclips, I would love this!!
Quick tip! In Art class in HS I was taught that you score each part of the clay and then add slip and stick them together. Slip is a bit of watered down clay that's used like a glue. With oven bake clay there’s a clay glue you can use! It’s called liquid sculpty!
im pretty sure she was already doing that? it just didnt work with those two balls
This works better with actual clay needed to be fired in a kiln but for oven bake it doesn't always work as well. This does work a bit better on air dry clay though since air dry requires a lot more water in the process to keep it malleable
I do score it. I jus need practice. 😅

The sea opossum pig is my favorite, and the black creepy thing second.... the mossy rock is third cause I have a soft spot for moss ♡
Have Dave do the blobs next time! He might break through your hesitancy with 3d shapes!

I was thinking of a slug lol
I absolutely loved all of these!!! Working with 3D seems so fun and I’m so excited to see what else you’re doing Next with clay!!
The last one made me think of a mouse in a ghost costume 👻
Awww, true!!!
If you tent them with either some tin foil or one of those disposable tin over trays then won't burn :) x
OH YAH. I meant to do this. Thanks for the reminder!
Yay!! I’m so happy to watch you get into clay more. I enjoy how your pieces are still so -you- despite the different medium.
Edited to say: love the mermadillo so much!
I'm loving the clay videos, Kasey! It's so exciting to try a new medium, I'm so hyped to see your progress!
I love your blob creations! Maybe next time have hubby make the blobs, cook them, and then you interpret what they could become! :)
I love them, especially the latter three. The 3D gives a lot to them! I don't know if you know anything about Moriah Elizabeth, but she makes 3D blobs from air dry clay - basically just. Totally in love! Its like your sketches are becoming more interactive
The mermaid-ish one before painting reminds me of a cuchivilo, a mythical chilean creature.
Have you ever done a video with playdough? That would be cool!

Blob
That’s all folks
Yup
So you don’t burn your creations, you can put them on a ceramic plate it prevents the heat going on you pieces and increase the baking
that's not a rock with moth balls, it's the legendary tennis ball rock, THE DREAM OF ALL DOGS
Moth balls… 😂
Oh noooo auto correct 😔
The little armadillo guy, the grey dog, and the spooky black rat blob are my faves
Love to see this creativity! It reminds me of finding shapes in the clouds!
9:45 would that be a mervark? An aardmaid? A maardmaid?
OH MY STARS! They turned out so cool and goofy! I love working with the 3D effect and this looks so cool and fun!
You should do this more often! I love them! 😍
Armadillo mermaid is now my favorite type of mermaid
1:35 accidentally made Homer Simpson.
4:47 Genuinely laughed out loud at this one
Love the mer-possum!
I feel like Posca pens would be good to use with these and probably more opaque.
A mermarmadillo!!! Cute!
love it 😘🌷❤️
I love themmmm. I want to try this.
Keep up the clayy videos _pleaseee_ !!!
Kasey?! are you betraying your kitty instincts and drawing... DOGS?!?! jokes aside, amazing work!!! :D hope ur having a good one haha
Hi! Normally I draw while you… do your thing 😂 but I broke both wrists, but now I CAN DRAW AGAIN since they’re minor breaks :D
The first one looked like squidward but then she made it a puppy 😄 but it was cute
The aquatic fella is my favourite, but they’re all fun and good. =)
You made a molemaid! Why wouldn’t Atlantis have burrowing rodent sea creatures?

1:23
That almost looks like a Pepe doing a pogface in the corner.
I am making poster sizes for my reference glossary,i find things like you can bind anything with a kimono than an obi.
And made mini youtube videos
These are great. It's ok with me if you want to do more.
Thanks for the permission. 😂
The second one remind me of my cat because she likes to lay on her back with her Paws up all cute. So adorable. Not straight up but yeah.
One trick u might like (and to help cut down on some sanding) is rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab to get rid of finger prints and rougher edges :) I got this!
Uncolored i though mer fox/ mer taz mainen devil for the mer creature. But once you coalered it now it looks like a hairless rat.
The little mouse guy reminds me of the little mouse spirit thing in Dog Island for the Wii. That game man… such a good game, I recommend it to anyone who has a Wii
I have a crab tutorial that might work as inspiration for your ants.
I feel like you are rocking the clay world. I loved both of the 3d creatures.
You forgot to score the little add-ons Kasey, using water makes it way smoother
Is it no longer the "Year" of the Crayon, and now the "Year" of Clay? 😂
I could just see you making some felt puppets and clay masks for a claymation
The perfect thing to watch on a study break....
At the start of the video, I thought that one blob was going to be a skull blowing a bubble with bubble gum. 😂
The last blob thing you made kind of has duolingo’s shape ngl lol
The dog looks like it thought the orange was a ball and surprised by it lol
I’m loving the clay videos!! 💕
That was definitely a opossum mermaid
The first one, all I saw was squidward!
Come for the art, stay for the dumb faces!
I do kinda wish in the description where it says Materials used that it would say the brand of clay this is, what paint was used, and the glaze used
I think her previous video she's using the same products, and they're mentioned in the vid and description!
Hey! Kasey is using Original Sculpey clay, Holbein Acryla Gouache, and uv resin!!! She goes more in depth about the materials in the video before this one :)
Haha, sorry! I got lazy this week. I’ll update it in a bit!
should've been a mer-possum.

KASEY!!! KEEP IT UP!!!!
Mer-armadillo, my beloved.
Straight fire! ❤🔥🔥

I watched last weeks video like 10 times and now will probably do the same with this one! More clay!!! Please get Nerdecrafter’s Super Not Another Crap Kit!
When you get comfortable you should make an army of different insects like in your old ant drawings
I've always dreamed of the day when kasey tries out clay! Can't wait to see what u come up with next. Your so creative! Ooh maybe make some ant buddies from clay or Hatch. 💜🤗
First up melted dog lol
Love them! I think the white balance might be off on this video. Either that or my eyes are failing me! lol
Thank you! You are all about the fun and don't ever change that...
I love this
The doughnut with moss balls looks yummy.
So cool
here's a fun game, take a shot every time kasey says BLOB
Hi
The grey dog with the paw pads is the cutest thing ❤️
Better than I could do, they're all so cute I love it!!!
They all turned out so unique and fun!
