As I mentioned at 3:22, after sending them the invite if they don't have an account with distrokid, then they can create one for 10 bucks / year so they can get paid and all splits are automatically done by Distrokid. Reference from Distrokid Help Center: Each collaborator will need to have a DistroKid account to collect their earnings. If they're not already using DistroKid, they'll get a 50% discount to sign up! If they don't want to sign up, you can even pay for the "Split subscription" ($10 per year) on your account, so that they can directly receive your earnings and all of the accounting is automatically done for you! support.distrokid.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013534394-Can-I-Pay-My-Collaborators-Automatically
Honestly it might be overwhelming for beginners. I’d get something simple like AKAI MPK Mini or Novation Launch key where you get piano keys and pads would be better to learn on. If you want a grid like the Push you can get a Launchpad. amzn.to/3sBRWHk amzn.to/3sApLsn amzn.to/3sAUPsa
@@AdilConstantineMusic I'm also using that one Second question, since you can publish for two artists on that plan, if you release a collaboration track will that cover the other artist slot??
@@PonyGuyMash If the other artist you collaborated with doesn't have an account with Distrokid then they get an email to signup for just 10 bucks as I mention at 3:23
Thanks Adil! I'm collaborating with my sibling on a remix of my latest track. They aren't on Spotify/no distributor and don't plan to anytime soon. I still want to put their name in the title of the song but is it necessary to put in their email address when submitting the track to Distrokid? Basically I'm wondering if it's possible for me to collect all the royalties and then just pass the split on to them if/when royalties come in?
Great Question. Basically you can add them in the title as a featured artist but they dont have to have Spotify artist page or a distributor. The only need to add their email in Teams is if you want Distrokid to automatically pay them when the royalties come in but you dont have to if you want to take all the earnings and give them a cut manually. I hope this answers your question :)
Is there a limit?
Do I need a specific plan for distrokid to do this? Or can anyone do it
Any can do
Ok
what when the other artist is not on distrokid? the artist I wanna collab with is on recordjet. any clues?
