So far the best teacher in Autocad ! Learned more from you in 29 minutes for free than any other course I have taken. Very clear and easy to understand. Hope to see more course for the home builder! Thank You
Thanks. Great job of starting at ground level, not assuming your audience has any experience. So many tutorials skip over basics, leaving the students in the dust wondering... So I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos.
I have been out for the summer and should get back at it in August. Sorry for the delay. Anything in particular you need help on that I can incorporate in the video?
Thanks for the video! I am a former teacher who is switching careers after 31 years. Which book are you referencing in the video? Is there an online course you recommend I consider?
BTW - I'm learning 2D drawing for an engineering company. We do civil engineering, structural engineering, land planning, entitlements, feasibility studies, construction administration, and highway design. Again, thanks for you video.
@@BigN8tive Thanks for your comments. You are never too old to learn or try something new. Kudos to you. I use books from SDC Publications. I use the "Tutorial Guide To AutoCAD" in my videos. They have several books for different areas or uses of AutoCAD. I think they have some civil references too. Here is the link: www.sdcpublications.com/Textbooks/AutoCAD-2024/553/ I am not sure about any online classes for that specialty. I guess you would just have to try a google search.
Dear Donny. Thanks for the excellent teaching. I teach a small group of student teachers in South Africa and need to make some specific videos for them in how to create tests. What platform/ software do you use to create these videos? Thanks and be blessed!
Vernon. Thanks for reaching out. I use Pinnacle Studio Ultimate. I also use Multi-Cam Capture to record the video and it imports into Pinnacle to edit. Multi-Cam allows you to screen record and use multiple cameras to record simultaneously to create the different viewpoints. I hope that helps.
@@Donny_Holmes Thank you so much, Donny. I really appreciate your willingness to share information. It is a rare thing generally. Most people are simply not willing to help out. I have asked several other RUclipsrs in the past and you're the only one ever to come to my rescue. Be blessed in all you do!
@@Donny_Holmes Thanks for getting back..I have been doing millwork cabinet drawings by hand for years but we are now required to use autocad..anyway to answer your question ..yes it is in inches...when you started your drawing the scale looks good as if you typed in a 30" line it looks readable at a good lenght but when type in a 30" line its about 1/4" long so do I just zoom in the page and keep going or do I have the wrong page in page set up which is 24" x 36" or is this a scaling problem...your first video was great how do I access the other 2. Pat
@@pathayes7896 yes, I think its just a scale thing. If you zoom in to that line and use the "distance" command you can measure that line from endpoint to endpoint to see how long it is. More than likely its just zoomed out from your drawing. I hope that helps. I don't have any other videos on AutoCAD as of yet. I teach at a Technical College and drafting is one of my classes. I have been using AutoCAD since 1993 so its old hat for me.

Hi when I draw a line like 12" it comes up on the screen about 1/2" how do I change that thanks Pat
Pat, are you actually putting in the "inches" notation after the number 12? So, if you are drawing a line it comes out half as long as you intended?
