Where is the video on classic cars as first cars ? I’m 18 living in France, going to uni next year but looking for a classic car as my first car for in like 2-3 yrs. love your channel I also moved to France in 2015 and have renovated a house! My dad had a 2cv for a while and they’re just beautiful, the most practical, simple and amazing cars money can buy. Keep doing these videos !!
The Oliver Pickard so firstly that video was super useful ! Just need to come up with 5 grand 😅😂. Do you reckon it’s cheaper / easier to get one in France or UK ? Bearing in mind the potential for import either way. Thx a lot
The Oliver Pickard I like the idea of a 2cv tbh. They seem really expensive in the uk . It seems like the perfect mix of size, practicality and character.
I owned an earlier version of this van here in the USA. it had three windows for side in the back which cost a grand total of $9 according to the bill of sale. it came with suicide doors which had a bad habit of flying open if you wait over a severe bump cost me $350. lasted 6 years and got 65 miles per gallon wonderful wonderful car
love it oliver I remember our 2CV 'the bean-can' drove from Haverford West in Pembrokeshire to kesh to Cold Christmas in Hertfordshire on one cylinder after a spark-plug blew out
It would be very practical when you move out of your parents house. The down side of that is you will be helping move all your friends! Also for buying big stuff like furniture and taking it home. Fun collectable car and very very practical. Corvairs had a van version too for a few years and are hard to find and have gotten popular in recent years. I have the impracticable convertible. The Michelin X tires were a popular tire upgrade for the Corvair back in the day. A Corvair book has a chapter on why you should buy them.
Yeah I've been drafted into moving washing machines and rocking chairs for friends who don't have hatch backs haha. era correct tyres with the correct profile transform your car highly recommend
Thanks for this video. This reminds me of the American sedan deliveries. I noticed that you looked pretty comfortable behind the wheel which is impressive for a man of your stature.
Although I have an Acadiane Mixte I have recently bought from my estranged wife a Citroen Nemo, but it’s not a basic van but a small camper van. It’s a Romahome 10, made in the Isle of White by Romahome. They buy vehicles direct from Citroen and convert them. It has a single berth and is complete with a double burner stove, a sink and chemical toilet. It was their show model and has various extras includiing a tv and CD player. It’s fitted with a lift up roof. It has a 1248cc Italian turbo Diesel engine that pulls brilliantly. Although it’s a modern basic van it’s very honest in true Citroen value. The Nemo is only two models of small vans away from my Acadiane
The fuel tank location is changed from the car version partly because there is an empty space (opposite side than the spare tyre compartment, same space) And its easy to get a "tube" out of it and its fuel cap, you could just go and bolt a normal car tank in it, there's the space under the van just like the car, but making a tube to fill it would be more complex, the floor of the car is higher in the cargo space in the van as well, just like the car under the backseat. There are different lenghts and heights for this vans, depending on the production year and specific models, short models are shorter than cars, but long models are as long as cars if not longer. The Dyane 6 did never use that instrument cluster, it was for 2cv's only, about the wheel, the foam one is the ugliest, but sure the most comfortable for daily driving, and never that hot or cold as the other wheels, have cars with all of them and that's sure the best that way. Its true those were cars for work, nobody took real care of, they were used and driven to death and that's why nowadays they're more rare than a 2cv car but anyways, there's still plenty of them. My grandfather had one as his first car, one of the first made in Vigo (spain), it was the first 2cv van model, an AZU. He used it for his shop, he was a blacksmith, and added springs between the rear suspension arms and the chassis as he had to load it with iron, appart from work, my grandmother made curtains for it and they went on holidays with it, some slept in a tent, some in the car at the camping. The car still had 2 more owners after all that and was used until its very end. I now have a later AZU (with square rear door windows, the other one had oval ones) which I'm making road able again, the chassis was broken in half due to rust, no brakes, no windshield as the metal arround it was just gone etc, no floors... But it had been as well someone's in my family car... Didn't want to really restore it but as being in quarantine, I've used this time to give it another chassis, floors, panels from other parts vans I had, etc... It won't be crazy well restored or purist in any way (I've turned it from 425cc drum brakes to 602 twin barrel carb and lhm disc brakes), but stetically will be correct in a decent finish look in and out and... Well... For the use this vans were for... I'll use it for work, carrying engines, parts, etc...
Has a citroen birlingo van owner I would just love a 2cv van aswell...great vid..really nice to see a business use a vehicle like that...just want one..
They are are brilliant although I have to say despite the obvious advantages of the van there are times I've managed to fit more in my 2cv hatch back than I could in a van

Nice car, shame we didn't get to go out on a road test! Those static seat belts are much better than inertia reel belts, which are only as good as the spring tensioner, if that fails the belt is useless, no such worries with a static harness.
I hate this video!!! to think I had a 1965 model the same as this one but with a 425 cc engine , bigger steering wheel and a bit tatty....and I let the scrap dealer take it away!!! What an idiot!!... Ive still got 2 more 2cv´s which I enjoy but I miss that old van. Keep the videos coming Oliver they are much appreciated.

One of which car? My answers pretty much depends on that

If your on a budget a Dyane or Ami 8 break are a hell of a bargain but for under 5 you will struggle to find a solid 2cv
I just bought a 1974 Spanish made model restored to top condition in classic grey. Love it!

Awesome! I daily a suicide door car and I'd love a van. the doors are ok once you adjust them
@@OliverPickard access is much easier for me with these doors
love it oliver

It's the first I've ever seen

Only a bit 😂

Not quite as comfortable as my daily driver saloon but drivable definitely

"...the exorcism of the hump..." love it! Great Stuff, the Oliver, have a good 2020.
Thank you
Awesome! So you think I should keep my Belgian AZU250 Poste Van! I want one of those glove boxes!
Nice Video Oliver, I love a good 2CV Van i also have a soft spot for a R4 Van (I nearly bought one)!
Keep up the good work
William
Mindriven Car Club.
Thanks buddy
The Oliver Pickard that was a quick reply! 😳
I don't hang about you know 🤣
The Oliver Pickard ha ha ha 😂😳😁
Very nice 2cv. But as a van without the ragtop i really can't imagine how to transport larger things in the back 🤔
The roof is taller to begin with and the rear floor lower so there is a surprising amount of room back there
Great video. But isn't it an AZU250 rather than an AK250? 250s of type AK serie AP were still AZUs.

It drives like mine but louder and with brakes that need adjusting 😂
Great van, Nice to see a unrestored one 👍
It's in need of a little TLC but I love that it's still working
ive got one for sale, no cg, its got 85000 on the clock, it needs restoring has a little rust and a panel missing behind wheel arch, has other spares,
Great video!
Tintin called, he wants his fringe back.

Ahhh , ok , Oliver Pochers Ebenbild 😁
Its not 435 under the bonnet, but a 602 😉
I meen this car has a 602, possibly changed from 435 at some point
👏👏👏👏👏🇪🇸
