- Sheldon realizes that his issue with his living arrangements turns himself into a living Buridan's donkey. In the end, he realizes which haystack will never get him hungry.
I love how the scene sets Sheldon up with this seemingly difficult and daunting decision and then, in the end, he doesn't even consciously make a decision. He doesn't even think about it because he's so caught up in his discussion with Amy that he just wants to keep the conversation going. Such a beautiful scene. 🥰
This is a well written seen and Mayim and Jim's chemistry is what makes it, qnd it really helps you see what attracts Sheldon to Amy isn't her looks or personality or even her intelligence, it's the way she understands him, no matter what he says or does she knows how to play off that, he grew up his entire life not understanding people and them not understanding him, but he understands Amy and she understands him she brought the food closer to the donkey so it wouldn't starve
Amy is basically the Sheldon whisperer.
Tara Mason And this is where those who maintain Penny and Sheldon are the better match get it wrong.
I have always believed this. I am so grateful that I can basically watch any episode I want of TBBT. I miss the show so much. I got emotional during the series finale.
I hate Amy
@@Binx75075 same
I just love that Amy was the catalyst that broke Sheldon's obsession over his room!
I see what you did there Amy.
Neeta D'Souza that’s why she is his gf
@@neetadsouza7870 and it somehow shows how Sheldon chose Amy in the end
@@neetadsouza7870 Probably forever since he can't make snap decision
@@kevsdigitalartsmore3743 Not for nothing she's also a neuro-biologist so she is training in the signs to notice certain behavioral ticks.
@@alski200 yes he probably would have starved to death right there
Arguably the most beautiful scene in the show
And some people still ship Penny and Sheldon. Please, Amy is perfect for him.
I do ship Shenny...but this was a really nice scene.
Penny and Sheldon have a brother-sister relationship. Amy abd Sheldon have a boyfriend-Girlfriend relationship. They're both good for Sheldon according to the relationship they have with him.
@@redrockbonbon121 Penny is the closest thing to Missy, plus she uses street smarts and common sense to keep Sheldon in line where as Amy just uses philosophical logic ans psychological behavior modification to get him to do want she wants him to do because of how predictable he is
Amy's perfect, full stop.
BedsitBob kind of impossible
I really appreciate this scene 😊👏🏽 well written and wonderfully acted
That was really sweet and truly she is his person and I'm glad he accepts that later.
Only Sheldon and Amy could have this conversation. I don't think any of the guys would have known what he was talking about and Penny would have asked if it was from Star Trek or Star Wars. Sheldon and Amy have a deep connection.
mayim's hotness is almost disclosed walking up the stairs. Jim plays Sheldon so well. It is a great scene.
I guess the fortune teller wasn't a fake.......when came to Amy & Sheldon......everything fell into place!
Buridan's Donkey never had an Amy in the equation giving an "eggplant"... plus drawing the donkey from the center with intellectual chatter..
The laughter have to be laugh tracks because this scene was great I would just lean back and listen if I was in the audience. The laughter to me destroy parts of what is so great about this scene.
I really appreciate that they did not have laugh tracks in Young Sheldon. It made the show better in my mind.
I loved this scene, besides the phylosofical references (forgive my English), it touched me how Amy understands him and how love makes you take leaps of faith and above all, how 2 people can connect thru their minds and souls.
Jenny Romero yes
Very well put. You're too cute though !
Lol no
*philosphical*
"Forgive my English" proceeds to speak it perfectly
Very good!. There has not been enough discussions on al-Ghazálí in american sitcoms.
yeah. 2017 hasnt been a great year for that
Amen!
Because most people don’t give two shits.
😂
We finally found someone smarter than sheldon
Boy, I hope to find a woman who gets me like Amy gets Sheldon
I'll be honest... I learned alot from this show about science then i had ever learned in my class🤷😊🥰🤣
This is what Nassim Nicholas Taleb writes in his eccentric and excellent book ‘Anti-Fragile: Things that Gain from Disorder”; When some systems are stuck in a dangerous impasse, randomness and only randomness can unlock them and set them free. You can see here that absence of randomness equals guaranteed death” .
I love this scene but I cant stop wondering what would happen if Leonard showed up instead of Amy??
Leonard would do some sarcasm or lock the door.
Honestly he'd probably just leave him to his own devices and lock the door to the apartment so Sheldon would still end up going back to his shared apartment with Amy and make the same choice regardless. Lol.
And then he went to Amy's door🤦♂️😂😂
Because the doors, now, are not of the same value for him.
I love that they mention Al-Ghazali and of course all their relationship ::)
sheldon and amy: *has a conversation*
audience: 😂😂👌😭👌😭👌😭👌😭😂👌😂😭👌😂😭😂👌😂😂😭😭😂👌👌😂😂😭😂👌
well played!
I kinda thought that might have been what it was but then they started getting into that more complicated stuff and now my brain hurts...
Amy is For Sheldon only ❤️❤️
So intellectual...
I found the audience laughing in this scene completely unnecessary. There was a real intelligent calmness that didn’t need to be laughed at
Sal Drummond But darn it, there's that whole comedic sitcom thing.
People being smart is considered comedy there. That's why they like trump so much....
It wouldn't be a Big Bang Theory episode if there wasn't inappropriate laughter slathered over the episode fifty trillion times.
My take is that the show knows the audience is wide and they would know some of us would pick up on that others wouldn't. Therefore adding on the layer of Amy manipulating him to get him inside was the veneer joke.
So?
I'm Persian and I thank Sheldon for bringing up the name of "Al Ghazali"
I’m shocked he thinks that al ghazali is persian.
@@aleynamutlu4206 He was Born in Tus which is located in modern day Iran and was of Perisan descent. Persia is the European name for Iran, so al-Ghazali is by all standards a Persian/ Iranian.
This proves it.... Amy speaks Sheldon.
Plus, Amy so knows how to play him.
Jim Parson's expresions are a drug to me, one of the best actors that I have ever seen. He is like Alan Rickman, he makes the scene without open his mouth.
This was so intellectually satisfying.
I wonder if Amy was manipulating him and he didn't realize, or Amy was genuinely discussing the reference.
So Amy knew that Sheldon would not make a choice in that very moment, so she tipped the scale logically and physically so Sheldon had an easier time making a choice. The egg plant is the remedy for starvation while the counter logic places her above Leonard whom Sheldon would have otherwise chosen or not chosen.
I loved this scene even if I couldn't really understand most of it!
She's right, Al-Ghazali was Anti-Aristotelian
To put it mildly, hence his penning of the “The Incoherence of the Philosophers”.
Subtle guy there, but fortunately Averroes was even less so…
I just knew that writers/creator of TBBT studied Al-Ghazali. And then later he was mentioned...
Missing old times
This is perfect but another show
The example with an equally hungry and thirsty man is not really good since you can live without food longer than you can live without water. So thirst would be more important
She slept with him, she married him, what made you think that she wouldn't get him inside the apartment 😂
Gazzali was anti aristotelian.. and he was a theologian.
Wow this show mentioned ghazzali. I dont think 99% of people who watch this show understood the reference of ghazzali
Try me
Out of 422000 viewers 74 viewers did not understand.
Nevermind them. It's like the 1% of germs that didn't get killed by 70% alcohol.
@@rubyanjel lol
They switched apartments. That’s like friends .
to be fair this just shows how easily lead he as a character is. it's like when my nephew falls over and is making a face it's just best to distract him and tickle him before we have a meltdown of a 2 year old.
I can't understand why the building owners didn't repair the elevator for so many years.... the building is multi story and it must had affected rent negatively..... also how come they couldn't find who was responsible for damge... they easily could find that where the damage was done......
@The BBT Fan no I don't.. also it doesn't matter.. I just put a logical query.....
@The BBT Fan yes it is. .. although we can say some times its not necessary that a sitcom should always go by logic 😇😇
A choice between Amy or Penny and Leonard?
It wouldn't take me one whole second to choose.
@BedsitBob how would you choose??
@@Nah1Han No need for consideration. It would be Amy in a heartbeat.
@@BedsitBob thats cute
@@Nah1Han I don't see what I said as cute, just honest.
Haha like what Amy did there
Home is where your people are.
I don't understand why sheldon had to move. It was his apartment
Or for example choosing between PSP and xBOX.
Amy is so smart. She could find better but meh sheldons not too bad
Imagine if this was how Sheldon and Amy first met
she does realize you're not supposed to eat eggplants raw, right? i mean theoretically you could but it tastes much better when cooked
Amy dresses like a homeless person
Out of topic but what's a restitilian ??
Aristotelian, as in believing in Aristotle's metaphysics
@@SIGSEGV1337 aaah merci beaucoup. It's because i didn't understand the word
I didn't get the reference of the eggplant.
Because the donkey would be paralyzed by indecision only in absence of external factors because there's equilibrium, but when she invades the scene and gives him something an external factor appears..changing the equation to another side thus making him push more towards the side where he leaves his past and accepts change and future while he is unaware of that
I think that coin tossing and one's habit resolve such dilemma. if I get to choose between water and food, I'll choose water first. Or between two dates, I'll chose the option on my right first and then the left.
I love and hate this theory.
haha, why? and it is more of a paradox
nice
FK ARISTOTLE, ALL MY HOMIES HATE ARISTOTLE
Why isn't Sheldon carrying the grocery bag. Seriously. Don't care if he was caught between two worlds (or doors). He should be helping with the bags.
Because he's Sheldon
They arrived almost at the same time from different places.
A pain in the ass feminist? Calm down it's just a show
What is the meaning behind the eggplant???
Donkey doesn't have to make a decision he gets the food and doesn't starve. Sheldon follows Amy
Wel wel al ghazali is arab not persian shame on you for missleading millions of viewrs on purpuse
El ghazaly wasn't a Persian
@Saad Bin Masud He is from Irak
Though for the record, AlGazalli was not a Persian 😁
It doesn’t matter what you though
Fairly sure Tus was in Persia (now known as Iran)
He was born in city of Tous which we call Mashhad in Iran
The scholars differed in the origin of al-Ghazali, an Arab or a Persian.
His full name is Arabic all his writing are in Arabic (I think!). But as I said he could be Arabic or Persian!
