  • To get things going and to give the customer a better idea of what to order for the bike we decided to strip it down to its bare bones, inspect the frame and all other bits. Frame is in good condition but the manifold intake boots need replacing.

    All I can say to the people complaining about starting another project before finishing any of the other ones off is this: If you want to see a bike built and on the road in one sitting then go watch an episode of American Chopper!
    The reason why the rest of us subs love your channel is because we get to see all the hard work you do down to every minor detail. And the long wait will just make us appreciate the upcoming Motovlogs all the more, since we know everything that’s gone into each build.
    Personally I think the CB is going to look the best, I just love the geometry of the thing, and I look forward to what you’re going to end up doing to it.

    Couple of tips:
    1. You can soften aged/hard rubber by immersing it in (old) brake fluid.
    2. When you take out engine cover bolts, get a piece of cardboard, mark top, and push bolts through in position you take them off. You always get the right length bolt in the right hole.

    Now after this vid i understand why those CB750 cafe racer bikes out there are so damn charming and sexy. Its main frame is perfectly suitable for cafe racer modification

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  5 лет назад

      Yeah the frame is a nice one, the SOHC frame is even easier as that has the straight line all the way back.

      For The Bold hey, friend! Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. You and others inspired me to take the leap and I’m currently resto-modding a 1981 Honda CB 750 C. I have noticed that you tend to use similar rear shocks on your bikes. I’m very interested to know if you’d be willing to please share the brand of rear shocks you used on this build? I absolutely love them. Thanks again

    So you transformed a retro sport touring UJM into a cafe racer. Cut me and squeeze a lemon on it. Cafe bikes are a dime a dozen you can’t even buy the mods that were on that bike anymore.

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  3 года назад

      To be honest the mods that were on that bike weren't even original Honda mods, they were cheap aftermarket parts, no loss there.
