    Camera Kelvin Temps at 5600k - Light Fixtures (Window, Rim, and Key) at 3200k - Room Tone Top fixture was at 4400k to get some colour contrast back into the face.
    Aputure was kind enough to send us their PB12 Lights. With our love of the Emmy winning drama Euphoria, we thought it would be fun to recreate this shot from the show as a lighting test for the infinibars.
    This was all done with a mixture of 3 Infinibars (mainly) and a F22C from Aputure.
    Let us know if y'all like this new format, we really enjoy showing you all how to create simple shots with everyday items and how to be creative with the shots and bouncing light.

    Absolutely incredible. Euphoria’s cinematography was always top notch and y’all did a great job recreating that!

    Loved this tutorial! Your recreation of the Euphoria shot looks amazing, and I especially appreciated the breakdown of how you used the 4 lights to achieve the desired effect. Can't wait to try out these techniques in my own photography adventures!

    Looks great, and I like the format. I 've been experimenting with 3200k lights while shooting in 5600k recently so this was really interesting to watch. I was always trying to make the look in DaVinci and I realised that what I needed to change was the light temperature. It sounds silly even saying it out loud because it's so obvious, but I've been a photographer in the past, shooting in RAW, maybe using gels back in the day with strobes, etc... Thanks for sharing!

      Thanks for watching! More of this style coming soon. We'll get more clean with showing the kelvin and white balances throughout. Yeah, it's just a lot of experimenting and seeing which colour tone works best.
      We kept the reference frame nearby to look back and fourth to see how closely we could get it.

    Love the new format, really insightful. How much did you do in the grade for the look? Did you set the lights to a warmer WB or were they set to daylight and the warmer look created in post?

    • @TenfoldProduction
      @TenfoldProduction  3 месяца назад +2

      Majority of what we captured on set was the look and contrast levels. The in Camera white balance was at 5600k, and we set the lights to 3200K, the one top light for ambient was at 4400k to get some colour contrast back to the face. This shifts the lighting to be pretty warm in camera viewing (director's monitor viewing).

    Love these break downs and was spot on! Question, If you had the cove for wrap/fill what’s the motivation for the ceiling bounce if it’s to lift some levels on the face? Do they serve the same purpose?

    • @TenfoldProduction
      @TenfoldProduction  3 месяца назад +2

      Thanks Stephen! Directionality and ambiance. We noticed in the reference that there was colour contrast (blue) on his face, so we went a bit cooler on the top light to get some forehead colour contrast.
      The cove and wrap was done because he was looking downwards and there was an eye/ catch light. The cove/ key was used to add to the motivated light and to wrap around the face + for the eye light.

    I guaranty that Hollywood does not put that much thought into lighting. I see they use like one or two lights 44 degree angle from the top or bottom with homemade soft boxes .

    can you show your exposure with the histogram or false color?
    Sometimes I really don’t know if I just crush the blacks in the histogram to achieve the look or add more light/input to reach a safe exposure and then bringing it down in post.
    I feel like if I try to bring it down in post, it won’t feel the same dark look as the reference, however, if I just crush the shadows on camera, it gives me so much noise :/
