but then again the 1942 trailer makes you want to play the thing showing what you can do, the BFV trailer is like a anti war propaganda film on how war changes a man into a beast blablah. I mean I just want to play thats all...
BF 1942 intro was amazing without any word. The scenes with the music tell everything. The gameplay was also awesome. You are able to drive aircraft carriers, aircrafts, ships, and the game is still balanced 'cause if you asked for artillery, there weren't any NPCs to perfectly shoot your target.
the feels for battlefield 1942 many years later (my first war game).... from the song to the tank crashing the helmet... 1942 is what made battlfield what it is today!
My best moment in BF1942, Multiplayer match, on carrier deck waiting for zero to spawn, carrier gets hit, starts to sink, a load of other player scrambling for the landing craft boats, sinking siren going off in the background, one of my earliest online gaming memories
I care about both and which has an impact on my thinking. Bf5 wins that without a doubt. 1942 is just play. Bf5 makes you wanna replay the war stories instead of completing it to get something on multiplayer
yeah that's in your opinion, different people have different opinion i do agree with the fact that BFV have single player and multiplayer but BF1942 also have single player but don't have the story line it just play with the bot and BF1942 can also play multiplayer and all the server still running today you can just join the server, a lot of people still active in BF1942 today and you still can play with other but in new generation BF franchise you have to unlock all the weapons and other thing but in BF1942 everything is available for you, you don't have to unlock thing to get it, and i found it convenient for new player who doesn't know how to play BF1942 (well i say it in my own opinion, like i just say different people have different opinion, you may disagree with my opinion but these game are fairly good but i just like original BF1942 more)

man do they want me to sleep in the intro of BF V or what xD BF 1942 intro is still better then most modern BF intros what we need is a Remaster of BF1942 with Bots, and we had almost everything in this old game... like battleships and aircraft carrier that could be driven, we had Like, a variation of Airplanes for each map, we had Submarines, Arty and Big maps and no lag "and for the Love of God no Microtransactions and Gender, and at least the BF1942 Intro was Neutral to all factions"
I know right. It would've been powerful if it was lead up to, in order to hit the correct emotional beats. However, it being an intro to an ordinary gamer can just seem cliche, like you say.
The music made it so much better. And I mean I get chills looking at some photos of WW2 vehicles and ships simply because it's a great shot. They don't need to do too much to look cool. A good shot in a cinematic way is enough to evoke that feeling of epicness. BF1942 trailer did that well. No words are needed to convey the grand scale of the war. Let the cinematic and music to the talking.
@@tobbeman1006 well i have much fun in multiplayer, they should just add some stuff which they are on, dice is really trying to save it and i see much potential, also it started better off than bf4 which was a desaster at launch, but who am i telling, because i guess you don't own it

Me and most of my PC gamer friends have BF1942 installed on their rigs (over 15 years later)......None of them own BFV... That should be an indicator.. I played someone BFV on PS4 for about 30 minutes.(who also mentioned he never plays it anymore just a two months after release).. and thought it was ok at best, not worth $60 of my money. I would happily pay more for BF1942 than BFV even today.
I think Battlefield V intro not bad, but it appropriate for something like ending or climax . Should have put something more epic and action also explosion, explosion is important .
The reason battlefield 1942 was so successful is completely laid out in the intro video. Every battlefield after that (including vietnam) had significantly less and less character because it kept trying to be something it's not.
Bf 3 was awesome, the 4 was the "what do we do? Same thing as before with new maps!" so big no, hardline was like the police mod for bf vietnam (bah), BF 1 pretty nice! But man...we need a real bf ww2
@@2ndsunrise_ the campaign was cod mw2 tier but now you can break the fences wow. No depth whatsoever no challenge whatsoever no enemy variety whatsoever. Just mundane shooting gallery bs. Mp was okay, but the super slow bullet velocities are just silly and feel more like paintball weapons than real ones. But yeah it had pretty graphics.
Bf 1942: old game which have more missions and driveable vehicles. When it remastered i gonna happy. Bf V: the missions are very short and there are too much cutscenes. Why dice didn't add singleplayer open world map like bf 1942.
You're right. If I want a SpunkGargleWewee game, then I'll just play COD or MOH. While Im playing BF1942 now, my introduction to BF was BF2, and I thought the Bot only singleplayer is a neat idea. Because then again, we havr COD and MOH, and I don't want every military singleplayer game to be SpunkGargleWewee. We have plenty of MOH and COD story campaign games, not to mention, the less popular ones. If it's BF I want to play, its BF I want to play. The only story campaign I appreciated from BF was BFBC2, because it was hilarious and self-aware that the story is not to be taken seriously.
I’ve watched both a few times now and the main difference is they show different parts of war, 1942 shows the badass looking part and V looks at the bad side of war with all the death and destruction
BF1942 was epic game I really miss it, all the things you could do in the game was insane, we could use almost every type of vehicle you can find in the game.
Battlefield 1942 will forever be the best complete WWII multiplauer experience. You can drive jeeps, planes, even entire ships. You enemy can torpedo you and sink your ship, killing your buddies taking off in the planes as the water rises. You can parachute into the battle area and steal enemy vehicles. You can fight in streets and the beaches. This game was so damn amazing. Why cant they just remake this and stop with the reimagined history nonsense
They will however remember the note in brasses that kicks off the beginning of the '42 opening, the squeaking of tanks in desert sand, and the percussion still filling them with energy as they watch it for the hundreth time.
The problem with games owadays is that they use too obviously soundtracks, however BF1942 (Also Vietnam) and Hitman Blood Money has tunes you never forgets, 1942, simply because they made it for the game, and it fits to war theme, not emotionally, but the feeling that you wanna go berserk with hand grenades at Berlin against the Soviets. BF Vietnam because it fits to the time and you hear the songs in most Vietnam War Movies. Hitman (Ave Maria) because it fits to an Assassin who just do his job without complaints and seeking of who he actually is, and don't bother finding out...
I don't hate on people that like to play it, Only that BFV is much less fun than bf 1942 and has far less features. Back when AAA games where fun for more than for a few months as is evident from your comment "enjoyed" its sad gamers these days pay $60.00 for a game that is not fun after the campaign or for only a couple of months. So many pay AAA prices for a game that's just ok or not bad.
Same here and I also like the tone they got in the new opening, it's gripping and makes for a more intense feeling while playing I think. Also, I get the feeling the 1942 opening is more multiplayer-focused and the BFV opening obviously focused on the war stories, which most of the people forget. At least I wouldn't really be interested in the single-player campaign of 1942 after the opening. I did not play 1942 and the trailer looks AMAZING for 2002, but it is pretty generic for the genre and for action movies, while BFV definitely has more of a war movie feel. I like both genres and openings but if you're asking me which opening or genre has more depth it is BFV and war movies, but I think most of the players are more interested in the multiplayer and the 1942 trailer is better in that regard.
I just don't like BFV because of the Historical discrepancies and lies in the singleplayer. I played the multiplayer a bit and found it entertaining, but not as fun as 1942. In short, like what you want mate. Argue about your preference too. Just don't let it devolve into a nonsensical shouting match and keep it civil and logical. On another note, I didn't mind women as multiplayer characters. It is just a multiplayer cosmetic thing. However, the Norwegian war story was a lie and an insult to the actual history.
BF 1942 has more badass camera angles and gameplay aspects than even BFV funny with the age difference to that a game from 2002 is better in almost every than a modern game WITH more funding.
People that nowadays care about historical accuracy in games need to just be quiet already. The reason they alter many things is so the game is playable and fun
@@UniversalTreatIsYummy, you forget not everyone has your exact same opinion on what makes a good game, personally I think a game that portrays historical events should be historically accurate otherwise, that just defeats the point of making a game that portrays historical events, also, I think your argument is invalid, you don't need to alter the content of a game to make it fun, take the game Post Scriptum for example, they nailed it, almost everything on that game is historically accurate and its community is thriving, because some people find historical accuracy fun, believe it or not, simply telling people like me to "be quiet" is rude, ignorant and selfish and to be honest, I think you're a bit of a dickhead for that.
@Happy Hitler You that the "robotic arms" aren't even in game? And the females are hardly noticable in all of the gunfire, explosions and other sounds? People are so caught up on "historical accuracy" that they can't even enjoy the game
Both intros were good. I dont know why there is such Hate for BFV. This was one of the best intros in a game in video games history. You were just affected by the dislikes in the reveal trailer. Ok if you judge a book by its cover its your problem. Just let the real fans enjoy it.
Well you say you are a fan, a fan must have experience. A real fan analyzes the game by looking at it features, a real fan must've played a lot of Bf games. You don't seem to me like a fan
I think people prefer the BF1942 trailer because it is old , nostalgia plays a role . The BFV intro isnt bad , but old stuff just brings back memories for the people who played it , and it is a big factor in the choice . I also prefer 1942s theme , even tho the bfv soundtrack is also insanely good . The old bf theme just brings me back so i have to choose it . But BFV's intro is also very good .
I feel the type of emotion that was in battlefield V should have been swapped with the badass action of BF1. In my eyes I see WW1 as a tragedy that could have been avoided and was a tragic tail of young boys and old men being fed to the new meat grinder known as the machine gun. While WW2 is the action fuelled battle to take back Europe from the Germans and the Nazis aswell as having to fight with absolute caution yes as much force as possible in each battle Pacific before you had any chance to even rest. But that’s just me.
It almost feels like 1942 is the actual game and BF V is just a cinematic movie of it.

I just started... and im loving it
I like both openings, they convey different themes. The BF1942 opening focuses on military might and glory of each major powers, while the BFV opening focuses more on the horrors of the war and how one soldier/airman/seaman must fight to end the bloodiest conflict in history.
but then again the 1942 trailer makes you want to play the thing showing what you can do, the BFV trailer is like a anti war propaganda film on how war changes a man into a beast blablah.
Bf 1942 is better
Lol do you even play bf 1942

the feels for battlefield 1942 many years later (my first war game).... from the song to the tank crashing the helmet...
I don’t care about the graphics but I do care about the gameplay and the game content also the quality
And BF-1942 totally win this match
I care about both and which has an impact on my thinking. Bf5 wins that without a doubt. 1942 is just play. Bf5 makes you wanna replay the war stories instead of completing it to get something on multiplayer
yeah that's in your opinion, different people have different opinion
i do agree with the fact that BFV have single player and multiplayer but BF1942 also have single player but don't have the story line it just play with the bot and BF1942 can also play multiplayer and all the server still running today you can just join the server, a lot of people still active in BF1942 today and you still can play with other
but in new generation BF franchise you have to unlock all the weapons and other thing but in BF1942 everything is available for you, you don't have to unlock thing to get it, and i found it convenient for new player who doesn't know how to play BF1942
(well i say it in my own opinion, like i just say different people have different opinion, you may disagree with my opinion but these game are fairly good but i just like original BF1942 more)
Bf 1942 ok we are not gonna BS you, this is an action FPS set in WWII, now get ready for some heavy fighting!
Bf V: We are going to repeat the same war is bad and it's melancolic message that has been done to death, also don't think the game is just multiplayer pls, it has a DEEPER MEANING.

do you regret this now that you know theres a german campaign
@@scott-gaming.8834 The German campain was the most brown nosed "we are just doing our jobs, look only x was a radical" oscar bait campain. If they where truly ballsy they would have done it as a german tank vs soviet waves of T34s with the comander being the one motivating his soldiers to keep fighting to prevent their families being killed by the russians, (Add an out of tank mini mission that ends with your character finding a home pillaged by the soviets and their inhabitants dead under 4 blankets.) Even then just the lack of the battlefield theme at the start is a big minus.
The new one looks like some petty foreign love story.

BF 1942 intro is still better then most modern BF intros
what we need is a Remaster of BF1942 with Bots, and we had almost everything in this old game... like battleships and aircraft carrier that could be driven, we had Like, a variation of Airplanes for each map, we had Submarines, Arty and Big maps and no lag
"and for the Love of God no Microtransactions and Gender, and at least the BF1942 Intro was Neutral to all factions"

I know right. It would've been powerful if it was lead up to, in order to hit the correct emotional beats. However, it being an intro to an ordinary gamer can just seem cliche, like you say.

It’s crazy how much it’s regressed.
I love how we all got chills from the 1942 trailer back in 2002 when it was just random shots of planes and boats moving

Man I'm waiting for another WW2 BF since BF3 grapichs and destruction existed... I'll keep hoping for this happening in the future no matter what

Bf V: the missions are very short and there are too much cutscenes. Why dice didn't add singleplayer open world map like bf 1942.
1942 campaign was just boring as fuck games against bots on multiplayer maps, it sucked ass.

BF1942 was epic game I really miss it, all the things you could do in the game was insane, we could use almost every type of vehicle you can find in the game.
This video should be called the downfall od Battlefield franchise!
This is like a reverse "Before-After" video
Battlefield 1942 will forever be the best complete WWII multiplauer experience. You can drive jeeps, planes, even entire ships. You enemy can torpedo you and sink your ship, killing your buddies taking off in the planes as the water rises. You can parachute into the battle area and steal enemy vehicles. You can fight in streets and the beaches. This game was so damn amazing. Why cant they just remake this and stop with the reimagined history nonsense
10+ years from now people will NOT have the theme from battlefield 5 stuck in their heads lol
Yes
I enjoyed the BFV intro, I loved the dramatic movie-like sequence, but BF1942 definitely beats the gameplay of BFV though
I remember waking up at 6am to play this game and mow down hordes of AI with a stolen zero on wake island. Good times
Nothing can beat the great grandfather of Battlefield
So am I not allowed to like BFV according to the internet? I've genuinely enjoyed the game.
0:25 Sherman’s with muzzle breaks lul
BFV's intro should have been the launch trailer
All EA had to do was to recreated this trailer with new music and graphics and the game would of sold billions
old trailer music is better IMO. They could have just have a orchestra do new performance for higher definition sound and stuff.
Haha bruh... when 1942 dropped in '02, I got so geeked up for the intro everytime I loaded up
Intros are like "Can we skip them please!" But you never skips intro of BF1942.
I remember the good old days when me and my dad would play against each other in a local match. 1v1. That was a fun time.
I like that Bf V feels more dramatic and shows the sadder evil side of war
BF 1942 has more badass camera angles and gameplay aspects than even BFV funny with the age difference to that a game from 2002 is better in almost every than a modern game WITH more funding.
It's like GTA SA, a game from your childhood, that can never be replaced by never games. No matter how hard they try.
I kinda liked Battlefield V's intro a bit more tbh. Don't get me wrong, the game is pretty bad. But they sure know how to do cinematics
Yeah, they do know how to do cinematics, historically innaccurate cinematics.

While WW2 is the action fuelled battle to take back Europe from the Germans and the Nazis aswell as having to fight with absolute caution yes as much force as possible in each battle Pacific before you had any chance to even rest.
