I had a Marine that did the exact same thing. Me & my SNCOIC had to take him back to the dealer and help renegotiate APR. We told the sales manager either lower his APR or vehicle stays with you.

Servicemembers Civil Relief Act kicks in and the financial institution has to drop the rate to 6% and has to put a stay on repossessions without a court order. Also covers breaking leases before active duty and storage facilities so long as you give them notice. Once you get out of the service your job is required to give you your old job back or an equivalent position so long as you contact them within a certain period of time
And privates, this is why we wait and build our credit first, I can’t say much though, the first car I bought last year in august had me at a little over 12%, this last weekend a year later I traded that and bought my dream car with 2.49% and it’s a sports car
