I feel like this is like risk of rain. Unless you have some godlike instincts or something, you have to start on the easy difficulty until you actually get the grasp of the game itself, and use that to basically get your toes dipped and unlock a few things, etc. Once you have more experience and a more varied arsenal then you can eventually just waltz through the hard difficulties like a breeze.
I play on nightmare, i have like 30 Minutes in the game and i fucking die on stage 4 all the time but i got to stage 9 max. You dont need godlike instincts.
The method I use to win Nightmare Mode: pick Economy islands whenever possible, pick the Tony Cards and Special Delivery from those next, build your gun the right way, I suggest using Duel Pistols, Burst Pistol, Double Shotgun, Auto Shotgun, or Rocket Launcher. With the right builds (usually damage, crit, and movement/speed for pistols, debuff, elemental for shotgun and AOE,for Rocket Launcher) your damage will scale up pretty fast and you can also buy things from the shop and sell them for more than you bought them with a good economy build, allowing you to max out your weapon build, health, armor etc, also overtime you will learn which perks are just good for your weapon in general but above is just the basics to it
honestly reason why he died so much so because he doesnt utilize the movement system at all. You need to jump and dash into slide for effective movement
Actually, this game was made because of how popular the crab rave video was. The announcement trailer was released on April fools months after crab rave released.
NB it seems the song came first. It was such a success, and the crabs were so loved, that he decided to make a game out of it as well. The Crab Rave music video was Noisestorm's first real foray into Unreal Engine 4.
I had no idea that that dancing crab thing I would randomly see over the last several years was for this game. I always wondered what it was about. It's been so long that I just chocked it up to being some random meme.
I feel like one thing that might help this game as it develops is to implement spawning sounds, like Risk of Rain 2, which can help alert you to impending enemies who otherwise would blindside you.
This game is super fun, just need to learn more about the movement. There’s a optical course on the lobby island that helps a lot. I would recommend giving that a try. If you move faster enemies have a hard time hitting you.
With the reroll inventory totem you can drop what you want to keep and then leave what you don't care about in your inventory to be randomized by the totem
Instead of Difficulty levels maybe they should have gone with Mutator's you could apply to customise your difficulty and you could find / unlock them through play ? (you could also start with a "just make easier" Mutator unlocked that you can slot in if you wish)
Ok at first when I saw the perk space I was like oh no, cause I love in issac and gungeon just having unlimited perks but when Wander opened it and there is actually tons of slots just most are locked till later prob with meta progress,I feel like I will definitely get this game
Was the song made to promo the game? In my head the game was made in the style to piggyback off the popularity since this is noisestorm's first game. Of course I could be wrong but I just never saw anything to say the contrary
what song? if u mean crab rave, then at first it was just an april fools joke but crab champions was inspired by crab rave after it exploded into the sky and turned to a meme
so heres a bit of info. im not sure how to unlock weapons but you dont have to win a run to unlock them because my first few runs i had shotgun unlocked and ive not won one yet. if i had to guess you have to get to ware enemies have shotguns to unlock
this has a lot of potential, but key aspect of game design are a bit flawed in here: -enemies lead you so hard that speed is irrelevant -enemies shoot you from behind or when out of screen. (many many games are making sure this dosen't happens or make it really less likely, or theres a grace period) I feel theses points are the most frustating that dosen't really benefit any balance or skill just pure difficulty for the sake of being masochist Also minimap much in cases of enemy density spawning anywhere like in Gunfrire reborn are a bit of a must imo.
@@procrobat it's part of the solutions, it's a crucial component in player's feedback indeed, but it usually is never enough by themselves. It's always easier to dial back down if there are "too many" communications methods.
Wow I got things totally backwards. I remember seeing the teaser for this game but I thought it was just an April fools joke made by the crab rave guy.
This game is so movement heavy! It's not a surprise it was so rough without knowing about the air dash 😅
This game is made by the same guy who made CRAB RAVE, and it is BUSTED AS HELL and really fun to play!!!

Its basically dependant on what perks you get on the first 5 islands. if you get even the most mild of starts you can breeze through.

To clarify, this was made by Noisestorm, the author of EDM track turned meme "Crab Rave"
makes sense
Aiming while jumping slows time, Max Payne style
Oh dang, that'd help.
Does the game have any sort of tutorial or are you supposed to just stumble into those mechanics and interactions?
@@bloopez the double jump is kinda tutorialized, but the slow down + shoot wasn't. At least not from what I could see, but I could have missed it.
@@wanderbots yeah and the fact that its a movement based rougelike, you weren't moving around that much

the song came before the game, the artist who made the song made the game on his own after the song became a hit (song is called crab rave)

the skulls lauth when spawning. And when all those little crabs made a sound, it would be quite loud
Would not have thought of this concept even being high.
This made me audibly laugh

I’ve only watched halfway through but I’ve noticed what is probably your problem is you aren’t making use of jumping, it helps with dodging immensely
You can also double jump
Wasn’t this game’s announcement trailer an April fools joke?
No
Nope!
You're probably thinking abt the crab rave battle royale thingy
Yes, but the joke is that it was actually real.
Incredible concept
10/10

ah yes, my favorite genre
'risk of rain but crab with gun' /j
I love how the guy who made Crab Rave(Legendary video xd) made this too xd
Arthrops does include crustaseans( crab, shrimp, lobster, horseshoe crab), insects, isopods( pillbugs, centepedes, millipedes, deepsea isopods) , and arachnids (true spiders, false spiders, mites, scorpions).

You actually unlock the slots mid run with shop currency.
@@tropicalkitsune5131 Yeah guess I forgot to edit my comment when I finished the video but honestly thats a interesting way of doing the slots

That is correct.

this is what Body Harvest on the N64 should have been.
Noisestorm also has a lot of other good tracks if you only know Crab Rave and like electronic music, be sure to check his stuff out
You for sure need the crystals per hit. Only to actually open slots and afford upgrades.

I didn't knw the Stormlight Archives got a video game adaptation.
I've noticed the people that are most successful at this game are those that treat it similarly to risk of rain 2. Ie jumping/moving constantly.
Never move backwards for more than a moment.
You unlock guns randomly at the red totem in the starting area.
When they said it will be released on April 1st, I thought it was a joke. It was so long in the playtesting.
All games return to crab.
And to get new weapons you can use the keys at the totem to the right of the weapons

Most if not all the ranged enemies make a noise when spawning or shooting, so idk if that helps with that.

I want to watch multiplayer this
If you use the key altar, it unlocks a new weapon.
looks fun
I bought this game as soon as I saw wander got to say (fast=survival) and to live is to run around shoot came second in my book.
Also I discover if You have a Aim down sight weapon and jump with it, You kinda fall slowly and I think you shot double the speed
The air jump saves you from most explosions in the game... ¯\(°_o)/¯
Why do so many genres independently evolve into crab battles?
I blame egoraptor.
Also buy slots when you can instead of saving lol
Crabboquest!
Time for crab
You can double jump.
is it just me or is the audio of this video incredibly muffled even on max
What's with the SFX?
I kinda hate gun noises, so I turned em down a bit too much.
